[ Weekend Rewind ]

Soo nice to have positive temps still floating around these parts! The fact that the grass is starting to become visible excites me, but we have a long way to go!

Thursday I found out my sister was able to get us tickets to see Luke Bryan!!! Soo excited for this concert!!!

Friday night we had our couples night and played some Cards Against Humanity - highly recommend that game haha - we enjoyed some yummy snacks and beer! It was a fun, and easy night!

Saturday morning after breakfast M took Noah for a crop tour to check on the jobsites while I headed into town to make some returns at Carter's (love their return policy) and picked up a new jacket for Noah, as well as few other goodies!

He is actually starting to outgrow his socks, so I bought the next size up! I also got him a new summer hat since we apparently don't have one! I need to find him a ball cap!

We actually timed it perfectly and were back at the same time! I was supposed to go to Winners to look for a spring coat for myself, but I just didn't feel like it!

I finished watching The Judge (I had watched about half of it on our flight to St. Martin). It is an excellent movie!! Highly recommend it!

The afternoon was spent playing and while Noah slept for an hour and half, I treated myself to the hot tub since my neck was still sore from the day before. I have a big knot in it preventing me from turning my head properly but it's too tender to touch, so heat it is! It felt much better after!

I also did a little online shopping and ordered myself 2 new books by Robert M. Drake! His books consist mainly of quotes and thoughts, which I really enjoy! Here are a few quotes:

I can't wait for them to come in! I also can't wait for:
-the new baby gate to come in so we can stop tripping on chairs barricading the kitchen!
-Noah also started chewing on his crib rail a bit, so I bought the crib rail protector.
-Shutterfly sent me another free offer for a stationary pack! Yes please!
-While we were in St. Martin they offered me a free 16x20 print! Perfect for the bathroom!!

Needless to say next week will be a happy mail week!

Saturday night was spent snuggling with this little cuddle bug:

We watched a boring movie called Stay with Taylor Schilling. I thought I would stick it out and watch it because I like Taylor Schilling but man it was slow and boring! Which reminds me, I bought the new InL3D Box for the TV, so watching movies and tv shows online is soo much easier now!! No laptops wires everywhere, etc.

Sunday after breakfast we headed to Cambridge to go to Old Navy to pick up a coat I had on hold for Noah! Lesson learned - don't wait until last minute for these kind of things!! Luckily I ended up hitting an awesome sale and got 2 for the price of 1!! As well as a few extras and
clearance for myself!!

The red coat is actually going to get exchanged for the next size up, as it fits now, where as the blue one gives him more room to grow for spring! The red one will be great for fall!!

I also got myself this shirt just in time to start up round 3 of the 21 day fix! I was pleasantly surprised to find myself an extra pound lighter since finishing round 2! 6 more pounds go to get to my pre-pregnancy weight!

Excuse the make up free look haha!

The afternoon was spent playing and putting away laundry! We are pretty much caught up now! Noah also spoiled us with having a 2 hour nap!! He had some stellar hair afterwards too:

I was happy to see The Kardashians back on! Yup just admitted that dirty little secret on the blog haha. I'm not even sure why I enjoy that show, but I do!!

That's pretty much our weekend wrapped up! Tomorrow Noah has his 12 month shots - only a month late! Soo not looking forward to him feeling crummy afterwards! Mikes parents also get home tomorrow night!

What I Am Loving Wednesday

Happy Hump Day Friends!! This week is flying by, just as I expected it to with it being soo busy!! I figure it's been a while since I shared some of my current loves!!

I love that my baby is sleeping right now!! And it's been longer than 30 minutes!! Yay me!!

I love that Binx keeps sleeping in this basket - seriously how cute! Now if she would only stop putting her (luckily it's just a toy) mouse in my shoes I would be even happier! Crazy cat!!

I love that we have been having some super HOT days, despite the storms that have been coming with them, along with the tornado warnings/watches, but better to get that out of the system before the long weekend!! Our yard work is piling up, as it has been storming/raining every night. The dogs would also like bathes!

I made delicious peanut butter chocolate chip cookies yesterday!! This little man just played on his mat while I did so!!

This new gem is finally in my dining room!! I've been looking for something like this for over a year now!!

I have a pedicure tomorrow night and my feet are sooo looking forward to this!! It's been well over a year since they have been shown some love!!

These drinks are currently chilling in my fridge awaiting the long weekend!! Can't wait to try them, as I have only heard amazing things about them!!

I love reading this book to my little man! The first page makes me tear up every time with this line:
"I wanted you more than you will ever know, so I sent love to follow wherever you go." Perfection! Love Nancy Tillman books!!

from the New York Times bestselling author of On the Night You Were Born -- Wherever You Are by Nancy Tillman

I love the strawberries that are growing in my planter!! They are soo good! I don't get very many, but when I do, they are delish!!

Can someone please tell time to slow down??
18 weeks on the inside and the outside!!

A little humor:
So true!

It's true!

That's all I got! Noah and I have some errands to run now!!

Currently...

I just realized it has been months since I have posted one of these, so I feel it's time for update on my current status.

I am reading: The Memory Keeper's Daughter.... I am only on page 52... hopefully I will get back to it now! Oh this is still the same! I totally suck at following through with reading!

I also read Oh The Places You Will Go weekly to the baby! Does this count? lol

Listening to:
One Direction: Little Things

Taylor Swift ft. Ed Sheeran - Everything Has Changed

Thinking About: Getting organized. I've going on and on about this, but I have been brainstorming various ideas on how to implement changes.

Loving: This sweet baby inside of me. My loving husband and our crazy animals!

Drinking: Water and a lot of it. I'm loving milk again and orange juice.

Watching: Chicago Fire, The Voice, PARENTHOOD, Grey's Anatomy, Law & Order SVU, X Factor. Love the fall TV line up!

Missing: I'm not really sure, I am really happy with where I am in my life right now!

Need to: clean windows, clean the bath tub, organize the mudroom... my list is ongoing.

Cooking: I just want everything sweet! It's bad. I'm trying not to bake anything. Although I made Jello last night and it was tasty!

Very Grateful: For where I am in my life today. I am grateful to come out of my struggle with infertility feeling entirely blessed. Infertility will always be with me, but knowing that there is a sweet baby growing inside of me despite the odds and numbers against me, I will only encourage those still struggling to never give up, even when you are about to consider it. I was there and here I am pregnant. Always have HOPE!

Looking Forward To: Seeing the baby next week with our ultrasound. Getting the nursery together and getting organized.

Creating: some projects for the baby. I'm thinking of starting a blanket, crocheted or quilted, can't decide!

Chevron quilt tutorial

Chunky Striped Modern Crochet Baby Blanket by OfMoonAndStars
I really want a chevron one for the baby, but I am going to have one made, because I cannot figure it out.

Planning: Putting up the kitchen back splash! Decorating the nursery after we pick a paint color.

Currently...

I am reading: The Memory Keeper's Daughter.... I am only on page 52... hopefully I will get back to it now!

Listening to:
Missy Higgins - Where I Stood

and
Even If It Breaks Your Heart by Eli Young Band:

Thinking About: Editing the pictures I took on the weekend. Or suntanning!

Loving: That the long weekend is here!! The weather. My family and friends

Drinking: Somersby Ciders, M&M Peach Juice and loving water lately!

Watching: Chicago Fire, bummed with the series finale of 90210, Grey's Anatomy, I started watching the original 90210 on netflix, and The Voice.

Missing: The kids!! It was soo much fun to have them around!!

And the dogs miss Hannah too!!!

(Gracie managed to get on my duvet.... little bum!)

Need to: Do some sewing and figure out what to bake for heading to the lake on Sunday!! I also need to figure out outfits I can wear that will hide this bruising.... the weather is warm - not long sleeve and pant weather now! No complaints though!

Cooking: It's BBQ season!! So I am really just making a lot of salads, pasta salads, different ways to make potatoes and baking!

Yesterday the dogs loved those peanut butter banana cookies!! I'm not sure if they like them cooked more or just the dough!!

Very Grateful: For the little things in life. The smiles, the hand holding, the late night chats with my husband. The snuggles with my pets. Since that man went missing, it's makes you realize how short life can be and that even though you may not like where you are this life stage, you have your husband, your family, your pets and your friends! Makes you hold on to them a little tighter during times like these!

Looking Forward To: These bruises being gone so I can sleep on my right side again!! The long weekend and some lake time, although the boat isn't in the water yet. Just being down there is soo relaxing!! Oh and the weather is supposed to actually be nice on a May 24! That never happens!

Creating: some more sewing projects!!

Planning: on putting the pool up in the back yard... we have finally come to an agreement. Putting up the kitchen back splash!

MAY is HERE!!

Soo happy that May has arrived!! This means more warm weather and well what can I say... she is starting it off right with a sunny 22!!

This month starts off ball season!!! I love watching me some ball!! It sucks not playing this year, but I will get over it!! M has a game tomorrow night and Friday night!!

I have started a new book after finishing the one I mentioned yesterday! If you missed it, check out the review! You won't want to miss it! I have started The Memory Keeper's Daughter while soaking up the sun in my porch rocker!

Yesterday I braved a new hair dresser and I am not sorry!! I am soo happy with how it turned out!!

Minus the car pic quality... clearly there is some work to do on self portraits! ha!

I am looking forward to enjoying the nice weather May is going to bring! More on that to come!

Also I have my sister in full swing with her jewelry store!! She only has 5 necklaces to make me right now! Can't wait to share her new designs with you all!! And maybe a little give away to kick things off!! What do you think?

Book Review: Bittersweet

Okay so I finally took some time to finish the book I had mentioned here.
Bittersweet
by: Shauna Niequist

This book was amazing! It spoke a lot about God, which at first I wasn't sure about, but by the end of the booked I just wanted more! The book spoke to me on soo many different levels! I went through and highlighted the lines soo important to me and almost every page has yellow on it!

This book was a nice easy read, as it is her telling her story, the way it was, how it made her feel and how she handled it. It was encouraging, it was real and it was downright honest. It was relatable and just what I needed! It challanged me to change the way I look at something now!

I can remember reading this book in Jamaica poolside with tears pouring out of my eyes! Thank goodness for big sunglasses! And just as I finished the book I was crying again! It just stirred up soo many emotions that I guess I have been putting to the side!

If you are struggling with anything in your life, this book will speak to you, no matter what the struggle.

As far as my faith goes, I can be honest enough to say that I am struggling, but this book gave me a new look at things. It brought faith back into my life even though I wasn't willing to consider it at this time.

It put soo many things into perception for me! It put so many of my thoughts into reality for me!

I am now going to share some of the lines that meant the most to me:

"I know what it's like to long for a new year, I know what it is like to feel like everything's on hold and you don't recognize your own life even though it's right in front of you."

"The middle is the fog, the exhaustion, the loneliness, the daily battle against despair and the nagging fear that tomorrow will be just like today, only you'll be wearier and less able to defend yourself against it. The middle is the lonely place, when you can't find the words to say how empty you feel, when you try to connect but you feel like a thick glass is seperating you from the rest of the world, isolating and deadening everything."

"What kept me stuck, when I was stuck, were my own demands and expectations, my own collection of fear and anxiety."

"I stop dreaming sometimes, because I am afraid of what it would take to change my life. I stop dreaming because I'm afraid of the chaos that a dream might bring, afraid of what a new dream will require of me. I practice being fine, and I tell myself that things are alright, just as they are."

"It's human to struggle. It's human to nurse a broken heart, to wonder if the pain will ever let up, to howl through your tears every once in a while."

"I don't have any idea why some bodies are strong and able and others seem to fail at every turn."

"I thought that what we really wanted are easy lives, and if we can't have those, then we can at least become deep, grounded people who grow through heartbreak."

"We become less fearful, more able, more comfortable with the idea of life as a beautiful mess."

This is a must read as far as I am concerned, even if you are not religious. You won't regret it! To be honest I would read it all over again just to get the messages that lie within it!

It's Wednesday And I Love It!!

I just cannot help but to do a "What I'm Loving Wednesday" even though I know I need to finish my road trip recap!! It will happen - just not today! Okay? Okay!

Soo here we go...

- I am loving our pool!! It is pretty awesome I must say!! Even M thinks so!

- I am loving this bedding set at Target!! I blame it on Ruthie, after showing her home tour on the blog, she showed the cutest yellow bedding set, so I had to go look for myself (online because we are not cool enough to have one in Canada yet..) and I found one I like even more!! I know I need another bedding set like I need a kick in the butt... but I would take a kick in the butt for this!

How cute is it?! I am IN LOVE!! You can find it here!

- I love that I was finally able to open the windows last night and take the dogs for a nice long walk! The heat wave has broke a bit, or at least the humidity wave has, it is still hot!

- I love that I just ordered my Road-Trip Photobook from Shutterfly!! Can't wait to get it in the mail!!

- I am still reading 50 Shades of Grey - nothing has happened yet. Just got to Chapter 6, but I hear things will be taking a wild turn soon!

- I hope my sister feels better tomorrow so we can hang out!

- My heart must be pretty big, I am pretty tall:
