Halloween 2016

Emilya's first Halloween and it did not disappoint!! This year was soo soo much fun!! Last year we did a few houses with Noah, but this year he was really into it! We still only did about 15 houses, but that was more than enough for him!!

But let's rewind to the morning. We painted our mini pumpkin:

And then decided while we had the paint out, that we would would do some crafts too:

I still have to add the writing to Emilya's!!

We had one other craft to do, but this was about as much as Emilya would tolerate. So we will save it for next year!!

After nap we decided we would hit up the park for little fun, since the weather was pretty decent!

And then my phone died... so no pics of Noah!!

We had a quick dinner, M got home and it was time to get ready!! I was soo excited to get the kids dressed up, I had been looking forward to it ALL day!!

Our dragon:

And our unicorn:

You bet they are getting these costumes back on this weekend so I can snap a few photos again with my backdrop!! Tradition is tradition!! Haha!

We started around 6:15 and as I mentioned above, we did about 15 houses before heading to the farm. Emilya passed right out by 6:30. Of course the last house we went to, there as a man dressed as a big inflatable dinosaur taking his kid out and Noah was completely afraid of him. Poor guy!! The father recognized Noah's fear and tried walking away but the damage was done, Noah was mortified and wouldn't stop talking about the dinosaur, saying he didn't want to see him anymore. We were sure he was going to wake us up in the night over it, but he asked at bedtime about where that dinosaur went, so I said he went home to bed too, but that he has Pal (his big dog in his bed) and George's dinosaur who will keep him safe. We didn't hear from him, although he still talks about it!

We stopped at the fire hall and did the haunted house, which didn't scare Noah at all! Then we were off to the farm, where Noah and Grandpa sorted through all his candy! Noah was soo excited!! He wanted to eat a bit of everything, which Grandpa was up for!! After a few too many treats, we headed home and got bedtime going!!

It was seriously soo much fun!!

Weekend Rewind

I'm pretty much sad that this weekend is over for a couple of different reasons. 1) I missed out on a full day of family time. 2) I wish the Luke Bryan concert was a full day of watching him, instead of just a few hours.

My weekend was pretty amazing.

Friday night Noah wanted to go for a truck drive, so we all loaded into the truck - the kids had thier pjs still on, because we had a pyjama day and then we let him direct us on where to go. It's safe to say he knows his own way to the farm from home! He took us right there, with a detour to the fireball on the way there. Smarty pants!!

So instead of driving by the farm, we actually stopped in because we had some stuff in the truck that M didn't drop off. So we thought we would let Noah take up to the door himself. He was pretty excited. He knocked at the door and no one came, so we told him to just go in, as we waited at the truck. Well the poor kid opened the one door, went to go in, fell and got stuck in the screen door. It really was quite the entrance. Grandma and Grandpa came quickly to the screaming, as did we. He was quite ticked off, but more upset that he wanted them to answer the door, so he could give the bag to Grandma. He got over it quickly and then just wanted to play for a bit, so we stayed for a bit before heading home to start bathes and bedtime.

Saturday morning I was out the door shortly after 9 AM, I picked up my sister and we were headed state-side. We anticipated a long border wait because the red wings were playing, as well as the football game, but nope, we crossed right away - no line up!!

This meant we had some time to shop!! Target was up first! I love that store. I soo wish it would come back to Canada, but with American pricing and American products - like it needs to be legit the same!! I ended up getting myself a shirt, the kids Christmas pyjamas, the kids some clothes - love their new kids line btw, I got a shadow box picture frame to put my last knitting project with my Grandma in. I also got Noah a little peppa pig play set, some wall art for Emilya's nursery - I really love how this is shaping up!! I also grabbed mini m&m's for baking and my favorite candy the don't sell in Canada - why???

We had no luck at TJ Maxx, I did well at Carters and I grabbed myself a 10ft long phone charging cable, oh and it has unicorns on it!!

We grabbed an early supper at Chili's, grabbed gas and attempted to head down to the concert. Apparently my sister isn't the best navigator, but we ended up making it and found some pretty decent parking!

The concert was amazing, of course, not a doubt in my mind that it wouldn't be!! I know I have been to a bunch of his concerts, even on the same tour, but they are all different!!! The concert was even extra long because it was the last one of the tour!!

We got back to my Dads around 12:30, visited for a but, I pumped and then went right to bed! In the morning, we had breakfast with my Dad and Cindy and then hit the road by 9:30, a little later than we planned! The drive is long, but always seems longer on the way home, and it was raining!

I got home right around 12 and had 45 minutes to get myself ready to goto a baptism. Seeing the kids was the best part of the day for sure! They both were soo happy to see me, such a warm feeling!! I gave Noah the little gift I got him and told him to close his eyes for a surprise - this is what I got:

But his reaction when he saw I got him Peppa Pig figurines was pretty good! I guess now I have some Christmas ideas for my family - haha.

Luckily it was close by, so I was able to leave Noah home to nap with Mike, while I took Emilya.

I came home after the service to pick up the boys, and of course Em fell asleep on the way home! We enjoyed a nice family get together, grabbed some dinner on the way home.

After suppe we had the fun task of pumpkin carving! We only ended up with one pumpkin this year, but we had fun carving it!! Be sure to check out the video on Instagram of Noah's reaction - still laughing about it!!

Em to the job quite seriously and bit it:

I will recap our Halloween hopefully tomorrow - Emilya is teething like a monster right now with her top two teeth coming in and is not a happy camper!!

Halloween Crafting and Luke Bryan

On Thursday I finally sucked up my clean mom act and let things get a bit messy! Noah's first painting activity and it didn't disappoint! He was soo excited to give it a go!! First I did his feet so I could get this craft finally completed! I have his feet from last year that I never ended up finishing the craft.

He started off with brushes and it wasn't long before he was hands in!! Look at that smirk!

Giving the brushes another go.. backwards...

He decided he would clap his painted hands, spraying paint all over his face!

The mess was surprisingly not that bad, he went straight into the tub and enjoyed a freshly baked muffin right after.

After dinner it was time to carve up those pumpkins. We thought Noah was going to be hands on with this task too, but we were very wrong!

This was as hands on as he got!

He was rather disgusted with the process!!! When we asked him if he wanted to help, his hands went behind his back quickly!

Turns out the apple didn't fall far from the tree, because I hate that job too! Daddy was on his own haha!

His painted pumpkin wasn't dry yet.

Friday was the Luke Bryan concert in Detroit. So we left at 9:30 AM and started the 2.5 hour trek west.

While we were in the US, I managed to pick up Noah's comforter from the PO Box too! I love it!! We managed to get lost a few times, but made it right where we needed to be!! Our seats were amazing!

We saw Dustin Lynch, Randy Houser, Dierks Bentley and of course the main man Luke Bryan!  The pics can do the talking:

Crazy to think we started this tour out with him in Hamilton and finished it with him in Detroit, as this was his last stop on the tour. Yet the show was different. Of course Drink A Beer had this emotional mama in tears.

We made it back to my Dad's girlfriends in Windsor to stay the night. This baby was going nuts during the concert and after!

Menu planning is just not happening this week...

21 Weeks

How Far Along:
21 weeks - October 27 - Nov. 2, 2013

Size Of Baby?

Crazy to think baby is bigger than my foot now! No wonder I've lost them!

Maternity Clothes?
PJ shirts are getting shorter and M is often finding me in bed out cold with my shirt up to my ribs and my belly popping out. I don't want to stretch M's t-shirts out, but I have started wearing his to bed until they start to get small!

Stretch Marks?
None yet.

Gender?
We will find out in March! No slip ups from our doctor because he doesn't know either!!

Sleep?
Much better! Had a few restless nights, but for no apparent reason.

Baby Purchases This Week:
2 swaddle sacks
1 owl sleeper (new)
a play mat for the baby
another sleeper (used)
polka dot crib sheet

Cravings/Aversions?
Donuts!! Yum!! Loving them! Still no eggs. I also had pasta this week and was able to eat it again!

Movement?
Yes, yes, yes and I am loving every time it happens. Just as I loved hearing the heart beat every time at home, and how it would make me smile, now I smile every time I feel this sweet babe! Poor M hasn't felt the baby again since he first felt it! The baby kicks up a storm until M puts his hand on my belly and the baby stops, then starts back up as soon as M lifts his hand!

Feeling?
Great!! No real complaints!

Highlights:
- Our doctors appointment!!

-Finally gaining weight!!

Celebrating Halloween with Baby V's pumpkin:

Belly Button?

Weight Gain:
9 pounds!!! Back on track!!

Best Moment of the Week?
Hearing all about the baby's ultrasound!! Baby V is measuring ahead as well, soo exciting, although our date isn't changing. Baby V is growing away perfectly inside of me and it was great to hear a good report!! Baby's heart rate was 160 at our doctors appointment!

Crazy Pregnancy Moment:
Dressing up the bump for a Halloween party! M and I usually do couples outfits, so this year we had a little fun with it:

Bump Pic:

Looking Forward To:
Enjoying each week as they come. I've heard a lot of devastating news this week with other people's pregnancies and it just reminds me how truly blessed I am for everything to be going smoothly. My heart breaks as I read updates on their blogs, especially from those who have been on a similar long journey as M and I, when you want everything to go just right, just for once for these people. My thoughts and prayers go out to them. Despite not even "knowing" them, my heart mourns for them! I will not take one thing for granted with my own pregnancy, each day is a blessing.
