Icey Easter

Wow, we survived this past weekend and I am still pregnant!!

Let's rewind back all the way to Thursday... The ice storm. Luckily the roads were not bad and we were still able to get Gracie to her grooming appointment. That definetely made this mama happy because the groomer was booked solid all of April if I couldn't get in on Thursday and Grace needed to be groomed something fierce. Right before leaving the house around 10 AM, the power went out. Mike had started getting fire calls for lines on fire around 6 AM, so I had got up and turned the heat up just in case.

I dropped Noah off at the farm, headed to drop off Gracie, picked up my sister and we grabbed some groceries and lunch. Gracie was a trooper for her appointment and looks fantastic all cleaned up!!

I stopped at home before heading to the farm to see if we had power and to drop off the groceries and sure enough our power was still out! It was estimated to come back on by 8 PM. So we had dinner at the farm, came home to grab bedtime stuff for Noah just in case. Then the power went out at the farm too! Luckily M was able to get the generator going just intime for bath time and we eventually put Noah to bed at the farm.

The ice storm was not easing up, the roads were still fine, but the trees were covered in ice and only getting thicker as more rain came down. So around 11:30 I made the call that I was going home to sleep and M would stay at the farm with Noah. I prefer to sleep when it is cool anyways, so Gracie and I headed home where I would be more comfortable.

Turns out a transformer blew around the corner from me and the road ended up getting shut down, so I had police lights in the windows all night, along with various hydro trucks flashing their lights. I probably got the same amount of sleep I normally do as of late - which isn't much lol.

I headed back to the farm in the morning, Noah was a bit cranky, but we just had to distract him. So Grandpa read him one of his favorite books.

After breakfast M and I ran home to get stuff out of the fridge before it spoiled and checked the basement for water. Luckily no water and the freezers were still good, so we just had one basket of food to take to the farm. When we got back to the farm Noah was out with Grandpa, off to town for something.

When the got home we decided the ice storm wasn't going to hold us back from our Easter fun, so we got right to painting eggs! I will say this entertained Noah longer than I expected it to. We all had fun painting eggs together before lunch time. It was around this time that our power came back on at home. So we waited until after lunch to head home before nap time so that the house would have time to warm up from the lovely temp of 11 degrees!

Our road was closed by the police, but we were still able to go home luckily. The village is just a mess with limbs and trees down, hydro lines, etc.

We put Noah down for a nap and I ended up napping as well. Turns out we slept a lot longer than planned and didn't have time to decorate the cookies as we had planned! Oops!!

Saturday night we folded laundry, vegged and I got out my crocheting basket and did up a few dishcloths, as my uncle mentioned he needed a new one! M and I hit up the hot tub before heading to bed!

Come Saturday morning I felt such relief! The baby had dropped a bit!!

We headed to the village Easter a Egg hunt! Noah had a great time. He picked up eggs one by one! It was chilly, but the weather was better than last year!!

While Noah napped, we made cherry cheesecake for our family dinner at my aunt and uncles. Once Noah woke up it was party time! And this little man was ready to party!!

This was his Easter outfit for this year!

We got to meet my cousins new little guy named Hunter. Noah was soo cute with him. Here are all the cousins together:

And prepare yourself for baby fever... Thank goodness our baby is due any day, because I would want a baby otherwise right away after seeing these:

Noah got to practice his big brother skills and man did it melt my heart!! It makes me look forward to introducing him to his new sibling! Luckily it won't be long now!!

Another late night for him, but he is a trooper.

Sunday morning we set up Easter eggs all throughout the main floor! Noah had soo much fun hunting up the eggs!

Up next was his Easter basket! He found Peppa Pig, peppa pig books, the fisher price airplane and a fort building kit! Peppa Pig was a huge hit:

His evil little smile...

In all honesty, Noah just had a rough morning. He played well with his new toys, but potty training was a disaster and his sassy attitude was in full force after 3 busy days off schedule. I managed to get the baby's bag packed, most of mine packed, aside from the stuff I will have to throw in, like hair brush chargers, etc.

After lunch we decorated Easter cookies, but first we tried out the bubble wrap that came in the box!

This bubble wrap gave him quite a bit of entertainment even after we decorated the cookies.

I think Daddy was in shock with how much sprinkles and icing this little man conned his way into. He's got moves!!

All done!!!

After nap we headed to the farm for Easter dinner, which included Grandpa's very own Easter egg hunt!!

Noah loved hunting up the eggs and would shout out "I see an egg" and go running! He was not a fan of the nesting though and would end up making Grandpa dig out the small eggs from it!

Too busy looking to stop for a picture!!

We were lucky enough for a nice warm day too!! Here is Noah with Grandma and Grandpa:

And our family picture:

We decided Noah needed to stay outside until dinner was ready to run off some of his sugar, so he ran up and down the barn hill, quad rides and of course Kubota rides!

My Dad came for dinner too!! Noah was on cloud 9 with both Grandpas and the Kubota! He is such a grandpas boy!! Check out this silly grin....

And for the proper pic haha:

Dinner was great, we had ribs and baked potatoes with fresh green beans and cherry cheesecake. Noah was seriously spent and his sass was coming back, so we let him go for one more Kubota ride and headed home for tubby time and then bed. It didn't take him long crash at all!!

Needless to say I am pretty sure today is going to be a gong show, as I intend to get back on track with our schedule. But he does tend to surprise me, so we will see. It's supposed to rain all day, so we will cooped up a bit, but I'm hoping for the best!!

Weekend Rewind

Wow, another weekend zoomed on by and it was nothing short of fun fun fun!

Friday night was low key. I ran into town to get a few groceries and cake supplies and came home to a child-free hour since M took Noah out with him to do running around. M came home, got Noah ready for bed and then in bed and headed back out to finish running his errands, aka socializing haha. Pretty sure I was in bed by 10:30.

Saturday morning involved a sleep in for me, even though I didn't wake up feeling rested after trying a new pregnancy pillow that I officially hate. I headed up to the nursery and took down all the wall decor so we could see any holes needing to be patched and went through a few bins. Fingers crossed next weekend I get the baby clothes freshly laundered and put away. M and Noah went outside for a bit,  managed to finally get the Christmas decor down from outside.

Saturday afternoon I decided to take advantage of our double digit temps and sunshine and hit up the hot tub for some vitamin D!

Gracie enjoyed laying on the grass since the snow miraculously melted overnight!! Love warm days in February and I'm soo ready to be done with winter and snow and bring on spring!!

I made Noah's cupcakes and my Mom showed up just in time to help tame our wild child... He was just hopping from one thing to the next... A little reading one minute...

Cleaning the next, which I will never complain about!

He had a melt down when M left to help set up for the firemans wing night, which set off a huge red flag for when I was going to leave. Ever since Florida Noah has had some huge separation anxiety issues. When it came time for me to leave he had a huge melt down, blocked the door, hugged my leg, turned down my bribes of peppa pig and smarties, etc. It was horrible and there is nothing worse than leaving your child soo upset. I finally made it out the door, forgetting my ticket on the fridge... Which I wasn't going back for. I drove around the block for about 5 minutes and called the house to see if it was safe for me to goto the wing night. He had just stopped crying, so off I went! It was fun! Even with M being there, it ended up being more of a girls night out for me because M was busy helping. This baby loved the music and dancing, but I will tell you the amount of Braxton and Hicks I felt that night was insane!! I feel like my belly was constantly tight and I did feel soo uncomfortable.

Believe it or not I made it right till the end and didn't get to bed until after 1:30 AM!! I am still paying for this now! Soo tired and my body is just feeling rested after sleep these days. Noah had a great night with my Mom, which was good to hear despite the rough start. M popped home to put him to bed and brought my Mom some wings.

Sunday morning despite wanting to keep on sleeping, I was up by 9, knowing I had my sisters fam coming over around 10. I had to vacuum yet again because Gracie is shedding like a beast these days with the weather bouncing back and forth. I also had to get the cupcakes iced!! I decided to do peppa pig cupcakes, granted they ended up looking like pigs, not exactly peppa, but Noah got the idea!

I decided to try to use up all my icing and ended up with these swirl cupcakes as well!!

Needless to say we had a great morning with family, it was nice and quiet and peaceful, the kids all played well and was great quality time!

Noah loved his gifts as well! He got the IKEA train sets, a fish to swim in the bath tub (but it didn't work, so we will exchange that on Friday), he got a Gordan track master train and a bus! He loved all of it and enjoyed playing the day away with them all!

His reactions were just the best this year and I'm kind of sad that the birthday celebrations are done because this year he really just enjoyed it all!

We did grilled cheese for lunch (Noah's request of course) and everyone left just shortly after 1, just intime for Noah to have a nap - oh and me too!!

Noah just played the afternoon and evening away with his new toys:

We took advantage of a Sunday Family Selfie. Squinty, tired eyes for this mama!!

He found a way to p,any with all his new toys at once!

He also tried to play with the fishy that didn't work! Hopefully he forgets about it until we can replace it! It is supposed to swim around in the tub with him!

And there you have it! We are back to Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Weekend Rewind

Our weekend was pretty good, despite the dreary rainy weather that stuck around. I don't even remember the last time I saw the sun! At least it's been warm! The leaves are all starting to change and drop, which is part of the reason why I love this season!!

Anyways, moving on to Friday night, I was in bed by 10 PM, after a busy, yet amazing day! More on that tomorrow!!

Saturday we had waffles again for breakfast and then straight to work we went on our fall to-do list which I will post on Wednesday! The sewing room is organized, with the bed up, but not made because it is full of baby stuff, hand-me downs from my sister, as well as a few purchases we have made! The nursery is now empty, aside from the furniture that is staying in there. We still have stuff in the drawers but we will get to that soon enough, before we paint it! Laundry was done, kitchen was cleaned, pool was vacuumed, and the hot tub was cleaned. I started crocheting the baby blanket as well!! This project I am quite excited about! We ended the night with hot apple cider and fresh air popped popcorn!

I also got a sneak peak from C's wedding!! Love how they are turning out! Here's a few:

The photographer was fantastic! You can find more of Sean Moreton's work here!

Sunday we had the fireman's breakfast, so it was a long morning! I'm glad I went to help, because it turned out I was the only wife there helping, so needless to say I was busy running around. I was done in by 11:30 and needed a nap, so home I headed! Turns out I wasn't the only one who needed a nap! as M had been fighting a headache all day and came home at 2 after helping clean up, had a shower and crawled into bed and we both had a nap! M never naps, so I knew he must have been feeling crumby!

We vacuumed, dusted and tidied the house, made fresh bread, made ribs for dinner, and finally got back into our Sunday dinner routine watching Heartland during dinner! I love our Sunday evenings together. It stormed for most of the evening last night, so a walk was not going to happen!

Hopefully today I will manage to sneak one in between the rain breaks! But I am also doing a photoshoot for a buisness, which sounds like fun! It's for photos inside a restaurant, the staff will be dressing up in old world costumes and I have the honor of photographing them in black and white! Should be fun! They have broke the session up into 2 sessions to accommodate staff, so I will be doing this next week too!

So a busy, yet productive weekend!
