Weekend Rewind... On Thursday

Yup, just recapping the weekend on Thursday... No big deal!! This week started off really good, but then Tuesday turned into Monday and today feels like it should be Friday. I did get Emilya's newborn photos back, so stay tuned maybe next week for those!

Friday night we did end up having visitors, but they came after Noah was in bed, so it worked out not too badly. Emilya is slowly getting used to others holding her.

Saturday rnorning we got everyone ready to leave the house. M dropped Noah off at the farm for a breakfast date with Grandma, while I fed Emilya and got her ready to go to her first trip to IKEA!

She actually did pretty good in the truck, for hating her car seat. She is much better at self soothing and putting herself to sleep than her brother ever was! But Noah was also better in the car seat than she is! To crazy how similar they are, yet soo different!!

We got prime parking at IKEA, the store wasn't too busy, but busy all at the same time. We didn't really know exactly what we wanted, so we had to walk the show floor. Emilya was ready to eat again, so I walked and while nursing her and she fell asleep! We managed to find just what we needed and headed downstairs to collect the goods.

Emilya needed to eat again and we had brought a bottle, so I attempted to push our regular cart while giving her a bottle, which proved quite tricky, as I had 2 ginormous rugs in it. M went to collect the furniture. We lucked out with no line ups at the check outs and no wait time for loading up!!

All smiles for her first IKEA trip!

When Noah woke up from his nap at the farm, M went and picked him up and then it was time to get building all the new furniture! Noah was all about helping...

While Emilya was all about smiling and snuggling!

Sunday morning we worked on finishing the furniture and cleaning the basement. Noah's new favorite hiding spot - until we put shelves in it.

Noah and I got a little one on one time while Emilya napped. Love this squish:

Carrie and Steve came over to visit, which of course Noah loved:

We had a great visit and wish they lived closer!!

Once Noah was down for his nap, I worked on getting Emilya down for hers, so that I could have one myself. M's Mom ended up coming over to help with moving stuff back into the basement. I was going to help them with whatever I could, but this damn lifting rule really limits me, so they told me to take my nap. I managed to get an hour in before Emilya woke up. I also got the dining room all dusted and cleaned.

We had a nice roast beef dinner with M's parents over and enjoyed a little visit.

Most of the furniture is out of the bin, we just have all the boxed up stuff, but we plan to go through that as we bring it in.

So we had a productive weekend to say the least.

Thursday Things

As you can see, things are looking a little different around here, as I have been working on a bit of a blog design overhaul! It's a work in progress as you can see and I know I will have some updated pics taken in the next coming weeks with the baby arriving, so I am waiting to update my header and about me section! Its been almost 2 years since I have changed things up on this little blog of mine, so a fresh look was much needed!

Today I have what should be my last OB appointment before my C-section next week! You will have to bear with me, I am trying to get some posts scheduled for next week, but no promises. I am not too sure how long it will take me to get back into the swing of things post baby, but I know it is something I will strive to do, as I love being able to look back on our life documented!

Yesterday was a challenge day for Noah, which I fully anticipated this week, as there is always one after a long weekend. I'm really going to have to do some soul searching for patience though once this new baby is thrown into the mix, because man when those listening ears going missing, it sure is challenging.

My new lamps... so glad I ended up with them! They really do work great in our bedroom and I have decided to stop searching for a new dining room lamp and will just use the old one from our bedroom! As you can see via the picture, we have some wall touch ups to do, but in all honesty if I ever get around to getting my new headboard made, it would cover those marks right up, or I will end up painting the whole room, which is something else I am considering! Shhh... don't tell Mike!

Speaking of DIY projects, my Dad came over last night to help me out with Noah's wood plaques for his room. He is going to wood burn a few pieces for me! Then I can finally get his bedroom reveal up and posted! Clearly Noah enjoyed his visit. He is such a Grandpa's boy with both Grandpas!!

Tuesday night we had a little impromptu date night at the pub here in the village! It was wing night, so we figured it would be busy, turns out it wasn't and Noah totally could have joined us, but we all know he had fun with Grandma and Grandpa for a few hours! Not to mention I took him a bit early and let him drive his new (to us) tractor.

Not much else to report for today! It's a rainy day, but I will take it over snow!!

Weekend Rewind

Another chilly damp weekend it was, which ultimately means we decided to forgo the pumpkin patch! M and I discussed it and with how windy it was this weekend, and crummy, Noah was a bear because of teething, we decided it was best to not expose him to the weather. He won't remember this year at all, but we will take some pictures here at the farm and do a pumpkin patch next year when he will get more out of it!

Friday we finally watched Frozen! Noah's first Disney movie and he actually watched it and enjoyed it! He would kick and dance to the songs, stop dead and stare at the screen during certain parts, soo cute!! I can say I finally saw it and enjoyed it as well!!

Saturday we had a nice low key day together as a family! As I mentioned earlier, Noah was a bear, he didn't sleep well Friday night, actually none of us did! So he napped a few extra times in the day to try to bring him out of his mood, but overall it didn't really work! I did get started on making his banner for his baptism!

We went to the house to take a few things back and pick up a few things and decided to take Noah's 8 month photos! He wasn't overly smiley, but we also didn't have time to really try to get him to smile because it was soo cold in the house with it being exposed to the outdoor temps! So we snapped a few and headed back to the farm. You will see those tomorrow!

We got dinner going, fed the little man and played for a bit with the dogs. It was good downtime together! Mike got Noah ready for his bath and I pretty much saved M's day because as he was carrying him to the bathtub I thought it looked like Noah was was trying to poop and sure enough... Mike panicked, which was priceless but handled it! Then before M put him in the bath he peed all over Mike too! Soo funny!

He didn't go down very well Saturday night, I ended up dancing around the room with him to the country radio station and luckily got him down! M had already tried for over 45 minutes and I got him down in 10 minutes!

He actually slept really well Saturday night, as did M and I!

Sunday morning Noah was in a great mood, so we snapped some pics with my back drop quickly while he was in good spirits and all was well until about 11:30 and that is when all hell broke loose. Noah refused to nap, became super whiney and miserable and M and I were scrounging to solve each issue as they came up. I did manage to get most of Noah's baptism banner done at least!

We were supposed to goto town to pick paint chips and railing but we were afraid to goto town with such a cranky baby, but by 4:00 he was no better, so off to town we went and he was pretty much asleep by the time we pulled out of the driveway!! Why didn't we do this sooner??

Better yet, one of the stores we needed to goto was closed, so we attempted to make due with where we went, but overall weren't overly impressed! Luckily they are nowhere near ready for any of that. Noah woke up while we were in town. We grabbed pizza on our way home and the monkey fell back asleep. So in order to ensure a full half hour nap, I dropped M off at the farm with dinner and went driving around the village with Noah, then decided to off road a bit:

Can you believe we have never had to drive around to make Noah sleep before this!? Luckily gas is cheaper right now haha!

Success! Noah napped for the half hour and was in much better spirits! Our evening went pretty smoothly, although both M and I were nervous about bedtime, so we teamed up. Apparently M took some notes on my dancing skills and danced Noah to sleep!

Surprisingly enough, Noah actually slept well!! Fingers crossed for a good day today! We have Play and Learn this morning and then a costco trip to order the little mans cake for his baptism!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

What I Am Loving Wednesday

Happy Hump Day Friends!! This week is flying by, just as I expected it to with it being soo busy!! I figure it's been a while since I shared some of my current loves!!

I love that my baby is sleeping right now!! And it's been longer than 30 minutes!! Yay me!!

I love that Binx keeps sleeping in this basket - seriously how cute! Now if she would only stop putting her (luckily it's just a toy) mouse in my shoes I would be even happier! Crazy cat!!

I love that we have been having some super HOT days, despite the storms that have been coming with them, along with the tornado warnings/watches, but better to get that out of the system before the long weekend!! Our yard work is piling up, as it has been storming/raining every night. The dogs would also like bathes!

I made delicious peanut butter chocolate chip cookies yesterday!! This little man just played on his mat while I did so!!

This new gem is finally in my dining room!! I've been looking for something like this for over a year now!!

I have a pedicure tomorrow night and my feet are sooo looking forward to this!! It's been well over a year since they have been shown some love!!

These drinks are currently chilling in my fridge awaiting the long weekend!! Can't wait to try them, as I have only heard amazing things about them!!

I love reading this book to my little man! The first page makes me tear up every time with this line:
"I wanted you more than you will ever know, so I sent love to follow wherever you go." Perfection! Love Nancy Tillman books!!

from the New York Times bestselling author of On the Night You Were Born -- Wherever You Are by Nancy Tillman

I love the strawberries that are growing in my planter!! They are soo good! I don't get very many, but when I do, they are delish!!

Can someone please tell time to slow down??
18 weeks on the inside and the outside!!

A little humor:
So true!

It's true!

That's all I got! Noah and I have some errands to run now!!
