Just Another Manic Monday

Well I did survive the weekend, but I will tell ya, it was a close call with this cold I now have.

Friday night was Pie Night!!

Delicious!!!

 

Insert lesson learned here: I do NOT like mojitos!!! It was like drinking mouth wash. I swear I was freshening my breath while I was drinking. It was not cool!

 

Saturday morning I had anticipated wrapping presents, but instead just about finished Hannah's Owl Hat for Christmas! I just have to sew the buttons on for the eyes!! I am soo happy with how it has turned out!

 

Because the weather was crappy, M got done work early so we went Christmas shopping!! I managed to buy myself 2 new pairs of jeans!!! Yay for having jeans that fit!! Score!!! I also got my rings cleaned:



 

Saturday night was the Santa Claus parade. M was in the parade with the fire department collecting toys and perished goods.

 



 

 

We went out for dinner after the parade with M's parents to celebrate M's Mom's birthday, which is on Thursday.

 

 

Sunday I slept in until 10, after a rough nights sleep. This cold is kicking my butt!! We did some housework in the morning, got ready to head into town for Uncle Hudson's memorial, then headed to get groceries.

 

The weather was crappy, not snow crappy, but freezing rain crappy. Yuck! But it is supposed to stay above zero this week.

 

M and I wrapped presents - but I failed to take a picture of that. I am sure I will remember later.

Today I have to:

-make a trip to the post office to send off some Christmas cheer.

-address my Christmas cards

-attempt my first try at Christmas sugar cookies

-wrap M's presents

-housework

 

 

I am feeling ambitious!!! We will see what gets done!! Happy Monday friends!!

Dear Weather - I am soo happy you are not snowing or even super cold!! If you want to stay above 0 all winter long, I am A-OK with that! Thanks!

Dear Body - Thank you for just bouncing back weight wise - not strength wise! I was pleasantly surprised that I have officially lost 9 pounds now (that's an additional 1.5 pounds gone)!! This excites me tremendously!! I thought my pants had been fitting bigger and now I know why - no complaints!! Soo close to the magic 10!!! I also appreciate my skin clearing up!

Dear Lux: I love that you have finally found your own spot in bed and that it doesn't really involve me at all!! Plus I benefit from listening to you purr yourself to sleep because you are on your own pillow beside my head! Thanks for finally figuring it out!!

Dear Weekend: If I survive you, I will be pleased! This weekend is going to be crazy BUSY!! Tonight is PIE NIGHT!!! Yes a night dedicated to eating pie!! It is perfect, although it probably won't put me closer to losing that one more pound... haha!  Tomorrow M works in the morning - they are soo busy, but busy means business is good, so I will try not to complain! Then we are going to head out to hopefully finish our Christmas Shopping, although I am sure M has not even started on me yet! I am pretty sure more than 50% of my shopping has been done online!! Score!! Sunday we have a family gathering for Uncle Hudson, who passed away a couple of weeks ago.

Dear Hot Tub - it was soo nice to get re-acquainted last night!!! M and I enjoy your presence in our life!!

Dear Pinterest: Thanks for encouraging me to try new things, like crocheting a hat for Hannah - just need to add the eyes and beak and I have an owl hat!!!

I think M is finally beginning to appreciate you as well - we tried new potatoes last week!

I didn't get chance to blog yesterday because I was making pies and butter tarts with M's Mom!! And believe it or not I didn't get a picture either! I will try tonight!

Retail Therapy At It's Finest

Did I just blog about shopping?! I might have a problem... come the new year I might confiscate my own credit/debit card. Just sayin'.

Soo a lot of things have been going on and shopping seems to be the best distraction, so today K and I decided last minute to do a little shopping.

We decided to spoil ourselves with Pizza Hut lunch buffet, but it was sort of a fail compared to previous lunch dates - but now we know where not to go!

Michael's was up first. I needed some more yarn for Hannah's hat, yet ended up buying 101 cookie cutters!! Score!! $16 - with an additional 40% off!!

All the different shapes!!

 

 

Then we tried Toys R Us, but we had no luck there.

 

And then Costco - I only needed toilet paper and kitty litter, but ended up leaving with my boss's Christmas gift, and some "Christmas presents from the dogs..." Lily & Gracie have been busy little shoppers this year haha.

 

Then I happened to get an email from Old Navy suggesting a 25% off sale!! Okay!!

 

At least I am just about finished Christmas shopping!!





Shopping

Another weekend has come and gone.

Luckily the weather was nice and warm. We were able to tackle a few more Christmas gifts and we put up the outdoor decorations, although I just clued in that we forgot out deer!!

The picture is a bit blurry because we took it from the truck and it was raining!! I also completely cut off the rest of the house!! Oppps!!

So last week I did a little shopping.

This little guy came home with me:

 

I couldn't resist!!! And for a low price of $9.99 - it was meant to be!! Now Whoot has a buddy!!

I also placed one of two orders from Old Navy. I jumped out of my regular color choices and purchased two new for me colors:



 

 

It's like an army green and a golder yellow than I would normally wear! But I am excited to add them to my closet! I think they will may my eyes pop!!

 

 

I also managed to finish my blanket!!! Yes, it is complete!!!

 

Now I am working on an owl hat for Hannah for Christmas!!
