Five On Friday

Today is the last of our warm spell and then we are back to seasonal temps! Yesterday I was actually in a tank top and capris!! It's also been great for hanging laundry on the line!! On to Friday's Five:

1) yesterday this little man and I went swimming at the public pool!! First he had a tantrum in the back yard... Apparently when I said we were going swimming, he thought in our pool, so he stood beside the pool, while I tried to explain that our pool is closed and that we are going to goto an indoor pool! Once I finally got him in the car, we headed into town to the pool. He wasn't too sure at first. He has been before, but he didn't want to be on his own like usual (by on his own, I mean within an arms reach, but not being held). After he jumped in a few times, it all came back and he swam like a champ, even better than before!!

2) today we get to go visit my cousin from out west and little Briar. They are down for the weekend to see a HABS game, so we have a family dinner tonight!

3) I cut Noah's hair this week for the first time!! Lesson learned to do it when Daddy's home, apparently he is a better distraction than lunch! The sides are a bit uneven, but it will come with time, other than that I am really happy with it. When Daddy was home he even let me use the clippers on his side burns!! This pic is before the clippers, but it essentially looks the same:

4) we have narrowed down the paint for Noah's room down to 3 paint chips! Hoping to wrap up this decision this weekend and maybe get the wallpaper striped! M and I are both excited to get this project going!

5) our weekend plans include M fixing the roof above the dining room before the snow flies, so we don't get any more leaks, now that the room is finished! Hopefully strip some wallpaper, as mentioned above, we have a birthday party Sunday and that's about it as far as plans go!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

17 Weeks

How Far Along:
17 weeks

Size Of Baby?

Maternity Clothes?
Pretty much!

This shirt is non-maternity and lets just say it fits a bit differently now!! Pretty sure my boobs and belly eat the words right up... But it's my Luke Bryan shirt!!

Stretch Marks?
Nope, but as I mentioned last week! I wanted to buy a cream or oil for this, so I finally did! I went with the Live Clean Dry Oil. I just feel with how fast and differently I am growing, I will be more prone to get them, so I am applying every other day at this point!

Gender?
We will find out in April!

Name?
We will share in April, our girl names are pretty much set, but boy names are very few, I will say we have two contenders and a middle name picked out!

Sleep?
Is going well.

Cravings/Aversions?
Got me some apple pie that I have wanted since Thanksgiving! It didn't disappoint. The big bucket of fresh popcorn at the concert did not disappoint this pregnant mama!!

Movement?
Starting to feel lots of movement, especially at the concert and afterwards!!  Baby was probably wondering what the heck was going on!!

Weight Gain:
Not sure to be honest. I think maybe 7 pounds?

Feeling?
Skin is a mess. Allergies are back. Come the middle of the week and I just felt super crummy!! Achey and crampy, super dizzy and only half my appetite!! Checked on the baby frequently with my Doppler for piece of mind and baby sounds great. Luckily it didn't stick around and I felt much better the next day!

What I Miss?
Not much!

What the doctor had to say?
I don't see him for a few weeks!

Highlights:
Seeing Luke Bryan this week! The concert was amazing!!! It did not disappoint!!

Belly Button?
In, but I will say it is getting shallower already!

Bump Pic:

Looking Forward To:
Our anatomy scan!! Seeing my cousin from out west next week!!

These posts will be a week behind, as I am now 18 weeks.

Wednesday Loves

I will start of this post by saying I am loving the weather we are getting this week!! 20 degrees (Celcius friends) has been such a nice change!! Today's goal is to clean the windows!!

I am loving that for the 2nd day in a row I have been up and ready by 8 and little man is still sleeping!! Today I managed a shower BY MYSELF... Well sort of - the cat snuck in the bathroom, but still no toddler crawling between my legs!! Yesterday I even got laundry up on the line to dry! I thought this time change would be harder, but so far it has been a breeze and Noah only had one bad day (Monday) adjusting.

I am loving that I found a vintage high chair on one of those Facebook buy sell sites and for only $10!! Noah's not loving his highchair lately and wants to sit in his own chair. He likes the one at the farm, so we will give it a try!!

(This is the photo the seller posted and she says it just needs a good cleaning!)

(Sellers photo again)

I also found the baby a jumperoo on kijiji for a steal of just $20. We tried the door frame jumper for Noah and the only doors we had that would work weren't in an area we would be often, so he would only get to jump when we were getting ready in the bathroom.

Today we are off to the library for songs and stories.

Yesterday I got paint chips for Noah's new room! Now that I have the bedding to match with, it should be easier!!

Last night we totally celebrated national sandwich day and had subs for dinner... Meal planning is that good this week... I only have tonight and tomorrow night to figure out now, as Friday we are at my cousins.

Noah officially took his first unassisted selfie yesterday too - 13 times and it's the exact same photo haha

(I will spare you the other 12...)

We are officially done with bottles in our house for a few months at least! They are packed up and put away, as is the bottle drying station. Crazy how much room we just gained on the counter again. I think I will look for a smaller bottle rack this time around and sell our other one. Which bottle drying station did you use and would you recommend it?

Halloween Crafting and Luke Bryan

On Thursday I finally sucked up my clean mom act and let things get a bit messy! Noah's first painting activity and it didn't disappoint! He was soo excited to give it a go!! First I did his feet so I could get this craft finally completed! I have his feet from last year that I never ended up finishing the craft.

He started off with brushes and it wasn't long before he was hands in!! Look at that smirk!

Giving the brushes another go.. backwards...

He decided he would clap his painted hands, spraying paint all over his face!

The mess was surprisingly not that bad, he went straight into the tub and enjoyed a freshly baked muffin right after.

After dinner it was time to carve up those pumpkins. We thought Noah was going to be hands on with this task too, but we were very wrong!

This was as hands on as he got!

He was rather disgusted with the process!!! When we asked him if he wanted to help, his hands went behind his back quickly!

Turns out the apple didn't fall far from the tree, because I hate that job too! Daddy was on his own haha!

His painted pumpkin wasn't dry yet.

Friday was the Luke Bryan concert in Detroit. So we left at 9:30 AM and started the 2.5 hour trek west.

While we were in the US, I managed to pick up Noah's comforter from the PO Box too! I love it!! We managed to get lost a few times, but made it right where we needed to be!! Our seats were amazing!

We saw Dustin Lynch, Randy Houser, Dierks Bentley and of course the main man Luke Bryan!  The pics can do the talking:

Crazy to think we started this tour out with him in Hamilton and finished it with him in Detroit, as this was his last stop on the tour. Yet the show was different. Of course Drink A Beer had this emotional mama in tears.

We made it back to my Dad's girlfriends in Windsor to stay the night. This baby was going nuts during the concert and after!

Menu planning is just not happening this week...

Time Change Monday

Such a busy weekend and I have soo much to catch up on as far as blogging goes, since I failed to blog Friday to update the rest of last week!! Soo... The plan of attack today is going to be to blog about the weekend and then maybe tomorrow I will recap our Halloween crafting and Luke Bryan concert.

So we will skip Friday night for now, and hop right on to Saturday!!

Saturday morning us ladies drove home from Windsor after staying over night there after the concert. The drive was long - we never cross the bridge there, so I forgot how long the drive was, which was about 2.5 hrs.

When I got home, I got the warmest welcome from Noah, it made my eyes swell (then again what doesn't these days??)!! M and Noah were outside raking up the leaves, so we took a few photos of Noah playing in the leaves!!

Of course he had to have Gracie join in! She was thrilled...

We had a Halloween party to go to for the kids in the village, but of course it was right during naptime! But we tried... Lasted a whole 25 minutes and our little monster turned into a real one.

So we came home and put him to bed and sure enough he went right to sleep! After nap the boys went back outside to rake more leaves, while I worked on some photos.

After dinner it was time to go trick or treating for the first time!!

(We have yet to do our mini Halloween shoot...)

Last year we just drove him to a few places. This year we let him go door to door with a few houses on our street. He really wasn't too sure, but did like the idea of holding out his bucket. Unfortunately it was raining when we went out, so it was a good thing we weren't going far!!

Right before bed, he enjoyed going through his bucket and checking out his goods!! He was most excited for the goldfish crackers!!

Of course the clocks went back Saturday night. But luckily Noah didn't wake up too early!! It was about 7:30 and to be honest it was no problem getting up that early because it still felt like 8:30!! Even when he got up at 6:45, it felt like 7:45! Totally doable! Haha!

Sunday we made our annual trip to ikea! Yes we tend to only go once or twice a year and when we do... It's expensive. We went with a list... And came home with only 3 things that were on the list, vetoed two things and ended up with a few extras! What did we buy?

- storage totes for the great room (bye bye cord access for Noah and we don't have to look at the cords)
- tunnel and tent for Noah for Christmas - it was adorable watching him play in it at the store!
- bath mat to match the one I bought last time
- a dresser for Noah in the complete opposite color than we were planning on...
- a new bed for Noah... This was not planned! We have a toddler bed for him, which I bought used and it turns out we just be selling it now!
- two new mattresses for said bed...
- a sheet set for the new bed
- a potty for Noah
- a duvet cover for the bed

That my friends is how you drop a grand at IKEA... I hate that store... Pretty sure this is the second trip in a row where we have bought more than we went for and dropped a grand...

But how cute does Noah look trying his new mattress:

It was also Grandpa's first trip to Ikea!! We stopped for a quick lunch when we finished and it wasn't long before we found this in the back seat! Not sure who Ikea tired out more... Grandpa or Noah??!

Noah did walk the whole store, so rightfully so he was tired! And with the time change, come bedtime he was overdone. So today is going to bed fun...

But he is loving the new potty!!

I will do meal planning Monday tomorrow as well, because I have no ideas so far!!

Happy Monday friends!!
