Past Week Rewind

Sorry for the blogging hiatus, a week ago today, my Grandma ended up passing away. She is in a much better place now and her suffering has ended. This led the way for a very busy week.

Wednesday this Mama had to try to find something to wear, luckily my sister ended up pulling through for me with some dress options.

Thursday we had the visitations and Friday was the funeral. I ended up reading a letter I wrote to Grandma, just adding in bits for the family, to make it from everyone. I will share my letter later this week.

Needless to say, it was a very busy week, Noah was a champ through it all. So proud of my sweet baby boy!! However his weekend was just as busy! We did manage to grab a quick family photo, and I just have the phone edition, as we had to use Grandma's camera for the picture because I didn't bring mine.

(Excuse my puffy face - this was taken after the funeral)

Saturday M's Mom hosted a couples shower for us to welcome Noah with her closest friends and her side family. It was another busy day and I am not sure what energy M and I, as well as Noah were running on by this point. Noah was luckily sleeping through the night great, but for myself at least I was just exhausted, emotionally, and physically. I think it was also hard to transition from such a sad moment in life, and then flipping back to one of the happiest in our lives, but we made the best of it. The shower was great, it was great to see everyone and celebrate! We received some great gifts and Noah will be one well fashioned baby for the next year and a bit! We went for dinner in the village after and then M and I came straight home. I was in bed by 9, missing a few thunderstorms.

Sunday we tried to start cleaning up the house. I pretty much created a bomb in my closet trying to find something to wear and unfortunately neither M or I wanted to deal with it! It still awaits me unfortunately! The weather was gorgeous, so we opened up the house completely! I would say welcome spring, but we are supposed to get snow tomorrow as well as negative temperatures instead of the 20 degree weather we were spoiled with.

Noah and I attended my cousins wedding shower in the afternoon, while M did some more housework! We had a quick spaghetti dinner and then headed out for a nice long walk in the village! M's parents popped over when we got back for a visit and watched Noah enjoy his bath time! We were all in bed around 10:30!

Today Noah has his first set of shots and I would be lying if I were to tell you that this Mama is nervous!!  I am sure he will do great! His 2 month post recapping the last month will be up tomorrow!!

Noah's Nursery Reveal

I am finally ready to reveal Noah's Nursery that is filled with bits and pieces of M and I and I cannot wait to share it with you all!!

We ended up giving the nursery a nautical theme and added more boyish touches to it once we had Noah.

View from the hallway

Moses basket - from Mike's family and M's Mom relined it!
Chevron/anchor blanket - I made it! It is far from square, but it is made with love!
Chevron Curtains - www.Beyondbedding.com
Ceiling Fan - Home Depot
Wardrobe - M's parents used to use it as a bar station and were getting rid of it. We painted it and changed the hardware, added a rod in it and it holds his clothes!
Rocking Chair - my Mom and Dad. When they sold the house, we scooped it up!

Dresser - a hand-me-down in M's family, we painted it again, as it used to be in our bedroom and added new hardware and now it looks good as new!

 Noah's Crib
Crib - Babies R Us
Chevron Crocheted Blanket - Etsy - Cozy Couture Head Wraps - she blogs over at Life Of Meg
Life Ring - Babies R Us
Letters - Babies R Us
Anchor - Target
Chevron Quilt - M's Mom and girlfriend Max made it together. I absolutely adore it!!
Crib Bumper - Amazon
Crib Skirt - Amazon
Crib sheet - Target

I got this teddy bear from my Grandma B when she passed away. It used to be my great great Aunt Madeline's, but was one of my Grandma's favorite things, so I am proud to have it be a part of Noah's room. It is well over 100 years old.

The sailboat is M's, which was a gift from his parents, however we both decided it would look best in Noah's room for now!
Canvas - c/o www.easycanvasprints.com
Baby V Journal - c/o www.tinyprints.com

"Laugh" "Dream" "Love" and "Hope"  stones - my wishes for Noah. Stepping stones in life for him to carry on - Bed Bath and Beyond

Lamp - from our old house collecting dust. We decided to wrap rope around it to add to the nautical look. I won't even tell you how much rope we used or how this inexpensive project became more and more pricey. But it was made with love by Daddy!
Owl - is from Mike's Aunt Barbara who passed away this winter. We wanted to add a little bit of his Aunt Barbara to Noah's room, since M grew up quite close to her and has fond memories of her. She had quite the collection of owls, which I love! M painted it teal to match the room.
Hour Glass - this is to remind us of our journey. I always said during our infertility journey that I felt like someone was taking an hour glass and constantly flipping it as we approached the last bit of sand. Our hour glass sits still now in Noah's room.

Rug - Home Depot

Mobile - I made this by hand. I won't lie, it was a challenge, as it is all hand stuffed and stitched. I saw one on etsy but it was like $200, now I know why! It was time consuming and a pain to make! But it will hopefully provide entertainment for Noah when he makes it up to his nursery!

Growth Board - was made by my Dad! I absolutely love how it turned out! He did a great job with it! There will be a post coming up on this! We still have to hang this on the wall somehow as my Dad made it to go above the trim. This is something that just Noah will have. If we are lucky enough to have more children they will get their own as well

Chair - we purchased this lazy boy brand new! We wanted to make sure we had a comfy chair we could read in, rock in, I could nurse in, or fall asleep in. It is great!
Stuffed Dog - M had to get it for Noah. It is bigger than him right now!
Blanket - Ikea

Gallery Wall!!!
Filled with ultrasound pictures in frames we painted.

I made the typography myself. One is filled with his stats.
One says "Love You Like Crazy" and the other one says "Love you to the moon and back, more than all the stars in the sky" both things I have said to Noah since we found out we were pregnant!

A family picture frame, with M and I, the dogs and of course the cats

Change Table-  was my Grandma's , we just painted it and put on new hardware
Change Pad Cover - found it at Babies R Us in the states
Diaper Basket - From Winner's

 The Reading Nook:
I am soo happy with how this turned out!! We used trim that had 4 grooves in the back of it to provide various ledges to hold more books on display. We painted it and then nailed them to a piece of wood creating the shelf! Noah has quite the book collection going and this isn't even all of them! We have more downstairs that we have started reading to him! Then we have the overflow basket at the bottom there!

Book Basket - Winner's

And there you have a finished nursery that we couldn't be more proud of!!

Like I said, it is filled with family pieces, love and memories! It is one of my favorite rooms I the house now and we can't wait to start using it more once he's a bit older!

Weekend Rewind

I had full intentions of posting on Friday, but clearly it didn't happen!

Friday I had my 6 week follow up with my OB! Everything is all good, blood pressure is back to normal and I can resume regular activity as far as my c-section goes. Now we just need to get my ankle back into shape, so I can start getting back into shape!
Excuse my wild hair - it was a long day!

After my appointment we went up to visit my Grandma. She unfortunately isn't doing well at all, to the point where she was blessed by the priest on Sunday. She hasn't been well for 2 years, but as much as she is fighting a hard fight, her body is now failing in all aspects. Luckily they are able to keep her comfortable, but unfortunately her days are very limited. Noah was able to "meet" his great-grandma, but sadly he was only able to say hello and a final goodbye in his first visit. Grandma has lived a good life, and as much as we will all miss her, it's soo hard to see her like this and suffering. My Grandma is our last living grandparent for both M and I.

We did a quick trip to Costco, stopped at Chapters, where M insisted on buying Noah the biggest stuffed dog - it's bigger than Noah! We picked up spare jets for the hot tub and then ended up at the farm for pizza! It was a looong day, but Noah was a champ, up until bedtime that is! He had a rough night! We find if we haven't held him a lot in the day then he either misses us and needs that time, if he was just over stimulated in the day. He also had an upset tummy, which didn't help matters! M ended up sleeping on the lazy boy with him until 5 AM...

Saturday we managed to get some more spring cleaning done, as well as the nursery, so you will all be happy to hear it will be posted TOMORROW!! Can't wait to share it!! We also enjoyed our first Dairy Queen of the season!! Saturday evening Noah's tummy was upset again, but we figured out the problem! Both days he had a bottle - we used the medela calma nipple that we have always used, but Noah can drink too fast with it. He drank 3 ounces in like 5 minutes, with a burping session at the half way point! The bottle is designed to help ease nipple confusion between breast and bottle, but Noah can suck away to fast and much that he gets it too quick, where as before he had to work hard to get what he could. So we won't be using that one again and will switch over to our Dr. Brown bottles now.

He ended up sleeping in bed with us, as long as one of us had our hand of him while he was in his Bummzie, then he was content. Little bum. He woke up at 3 for a feed and then 8,we were going to get up, but decided to sleep in. I got up at 10:45am to find M back on the chair with Noah:

Apparently M didn't feel like coming back to bed, but decided the chair wasn't soo bad after all. Because he then did this again at bed time.

We ended up with some visitors that popped in to see Noah in the afternoon.

We enjoyed a nice family walk, which of course included a family selfie!! We did the whole village again for the first time since fracturing my ankle. I was a little stiff after, but it felt great! I think we still work our way up to it, but throw in the full walk every now and then until I can do it with more ease.

When we got back we learned that when the dogs are away, the cats don't play, they steal their beds... We couldn't help but to laugh!

Noah was back to himself, content and happy, got some more housework done and enjoyed chicken on the BBQ before relaxing for the evening!

I forgot the CMA's were on last night until an hour was passed, so hopefully we will watch that today at some point!

Today Noah is all smiles. I love that he is really figuring out who M and I are and gives us smiles while locking eyes with us. I caught the end of one this morning:

It brings tears to my eyes feeling his love right back at us with his smiles!

I also think maybe I'm a bit sappy with all that's going on with my Grandma. It feels soo wrong to be soo happy while she is suffering. They say new life brings the end of another, I just wish it wasn't the case. I can remember how happy she was when I told her we were expecting and I'm trying my best to preserve that memory, amongst many others. I was going through pictures last night of my Grandma and found myself teary eyed while collecting them. I just pray for her suffering to end and that she will pass with ease. It is soo hard to see her go through this stage of life.

What I Am Loving - Spring Edition

I can't even remember the last time I shared a few of my current loves!!

I am definitely loving these two:

And of course I love being able to finally get down on the ground to snuggle with these two as well!!

Spring has finally sprung and I am loving this weather!! Instead of having a rainy day like they forecasted yesterday, it was sunny!! Windy, but sunny. So we managed to sneak in a walk when M got home from work before his ball meeting! Little man has hit his 6 week growth spurt! All he wants to do is eat!! Glad I read THIS article on this, because I was definitely wondering what I was doing wrong or if my supply was bad!! But nope, just a growing man on my hands. Actually that blog is very informative!

I am loving the "dadda-roo" because it has helped get us through these times, as when I am holding Noah, he thinks it is time to eat, so the mama-roo can move him around, without me having to be involved. Worth every penny!!!
4moms 'Classic mamaRoo' Bouncer Seat At first I wasn't convinced was worth the $$$, now I'm obsessed- need this, bouncer & swing in 1.. Mimics real parental movements

Although my wardrobe is limited right now, I can't help but to dream about what could be in my closet!! I'm stuck between my pre-weight loss and post-weight loss clothes and I really don't want to buy anything new, although I may not have a choice.

I think I might try making this! I love Starbucks Passion Tea Lemonade!!
Copycat Starbucks Passion Tea Lemonade Recipe

On to what I wish was in my closet:

Pastels Spring Fashion 2013 at www.honeybearlane.com #spring #fashion

and this I NEED to find!! Love it!!

You may notice a trend - nursing friendly!! haha!

I am hoping the Easter Bunny will bring me this perfume:
Versace Bright Crystals, my favorite!

I cannot even remember the last time I found an actual perfume I love. Of course I wear Victoria Secret body spray like its going out of style, but an actual perfume. If you haven't smelt it, go find a store that carries it - you won't regret it!

Love this quote!! It is soo very true for M and I:
Where there is great love, there are always miracles - Willa Cather

I am thinking this might be my next rice krispie recipe to try:
Strawberry Shortcake Rice Krispie Treats
Strawberry Shortcake Rice Krispies!! Yum!

And we are out of time - hungry baby awaits!!

Little Moments Like These

I can't help but to now want to document all these little tiny things that Noah has been up to, so I am going to start a monthly (I think) post of all the little moments I want to hold on to forever!

Here we go:

- your sneezes, when your sweet little face scrunches right up just before sneezing and the adorable noises you make sneezing. You always look soo proud after you sneeze, like "did I just do that all by myself".

- snoring. I have never enjoyed anyone snoring, but you, your snoring is special. It let's me know you are still breathing, the noises that come out are priceless, like none other. I could listen to you snoring all day long!!

- your smiles. You smile ALOT! I know you have no control over your smiles at this rate in the game, but it seriously just melts my heart!!

- when you reach your hand out and hold my fingers or hug my hand. It pulls still my heart strings! Can you promise to never let go?

- your wet cat foot leg shake - makes me laugh every time!! What have the cats taught you? You don't even have to be wet to do it.

- your need to have your hands on your face. You always look soo comfy!

- the way you calm down when I take you in my arms! I hope I'm always able to do this for you, my arms will be forever open no matter how big or small you are!

- when you snuggle in and sleep in my arms! I know this won't last forever, so whatever else I needed to get done can wait.
