Long Weekend Fun Ahead

I know, it's been a quiet week on the blog!

M is starting holidays today and we have a lot of fun ahead!!!

This weekend is the BIG Canada Day weekend in the village!! We have a house full of company coming over, people camping over, it's just going to be fun!! We also have a cottage booked for the 2nd week in July, so that will be fun as well!!

This week we had the new basement windows installed!

I'm happy to say our basement renovations are done! Aside from some paint touch ups and decorating, the space has really come together!!

Miss Emilya turned 12 weeks old this week!!

Hope everyone has a safe and fun long weekend!!!

Weekend Rewind

My weekend was pretty amazing!!! Well any weekend when I get to see Luke Bryan is amazing haha.

Friday was my first full day (pretty much) away from Emilya and yes, it was hard, I missed her snuggles and smiles, but it was a nice break!

Friday morning I had to run a bunch of errands - without kids!!! This allowed me to get to more than one store and although I didn't quite get to everywhere I needed to, I did tackle most of it!! Something told me M was going to be just fine with Emilya for the day:

I came home, quilt nursed Em before I left at 1:30 to meet the girls. I offered to drive to Toronto and surprisingly traffic wasn't horrible!! We made it there in great time, we got great parking, picked up our tickets and headed on foot to find some dinner.

My sister and I:

We walked quite a ways before we found a pizza joint and actually it was pretty good! We walked back along the water front and then took 10 minutes so I could pump before the concert. By the time I finished the gates were open! We were honestly giddy when the took us to our seats! Five from the stage:

It was hands down the best!! Dustin Lynch was great, Little Big Town was great as well, but Luke Bryan was amazing and being that close to the stage was unreal!! It was such an amazing experience and we are pretty sure nothing will beat this experience at his concert. I could go on and on about how amazing it was and it was the best concert ever, but I'm sure you get the picture! Speaking of pictures:

We got out of Toronto easily but ended up hitting construction and didn't get home until 1:45 AM. By the time I got cleaned up and pumped, it was after 2 AM before I was in bed!

Emilya slept 9.5 hours!! M let me sleep in until about 7:45 AM. We did breakfast and then packed up the kids to head to the farmers market. We picked up the brisket for the long weekend and some local strawberries, hit up the pool store and worked in the back yard again!!

What I will say is how great our yard is coming together!! We are really happy with it and looking forward to spending the summer back there!!

We of course did some swimming, playing and napping and we enjoyed dinner outside!! After supper we were back outside again and finished the play area! We put artificial grass under the play yard to keep it cleaner and easier to cut the grass.

Saturday night M surprised me with a bonfire! The first one of the season and it was great, just being able to sit outside on a quiet night, just him and I - it was very peaceful! I headed to bed by 10:30! Staying up late one night, means early bedtimes and naps to catch up on that missed sleep!!

Sunday morning we headed to Costco for opening. We rocked that Costco trip! 2 kids, 2 carts, 2 bathroom trips, 1 return, $300 spent in 1 hour and 1 minute!! We are stocked for summer!!

We came home, had lunch, worked in the basement for a bit and then it was naptime for the kids. While they napped, it was hair cut time for these two:

We did laundry and poked away in a few things around the house. It was super hot and humid, so it was nice working in the basement! I'm happy that say it is almost all cleaned up!! Then I can focus on decorations.

Before supper these guys went for a swim and then we enjoyed another dinner out on the deck. Gracie was loving her swim, not something we allow often, but it was a lot easier with only one dog to manage and she sure enjoyed it!

After supper I quickly brushed the cats and trimmed their nails out on the deck before the storm rolled through. Of course we had an escapee - but we got Jazz back in the house before bedtime!

What I Am Loving Wednesday

Let's just get right to it:

2 more sleeps until I get to see Luke Bryan again!!! Soo excited!!! I'm a little nervous to leave Emilya for that long, but M took the day off to be home with the kids, so that does help ease my mind! I'm sure this man on stage will be a good distraction!!

Crazy to think the last time I saw him I was pregnant!!! Here's to hoping this shirt fits a bit better now!!

Tonight my feet are headed to the spa for a little pedi action and boy are they in need!! I'm really looking forward to it!!

Another small joy I'm celebrating is that Friday morning I can run my errands sans children!! No puker Emilya, who hates the car, no car seats to unbuckle, just in and out as needed! I'm going to do my returns and maybe even get my new health card.

I will say I do owe Noah a "mommy and me" shopping trip! He is requesting it and tells me that he misses shopping with me! Soo cute!

Let's talk about a few small shops I am loving lately:

How cute are these top knots??

And we have these bibs enroute:

Welcome Summer

Well it is official today is the first day and summer and she's gunna be a hot one around these parts!!!

Our weekend was great!! I failed at taking as many pics as I would have liked to, but memories were made despite the proof.

Friday night, M had ball, so after supper the boys went for a chilly dip in the pool and then Noah and I showered, while M bathed Em before he left for ball. So we were all showered and then I started the bedtime routine. I ended up nursing Emilya for a bit, enough that she was content to chill in the mamaroo, while I took Noah up to bed, read him his books and tucked him into bed and then came back down, finished nursing Emilya and she was off to sleep as well. It actually went really well, especially in comparison to how bad it went last time. I can almost say I don't fret solo bedtime anymore, tonight we will try it again, as M has fire practice.

After the kids were in bed, I made a batch of banana chocolate chip muffins for the morning, as we had an exciting day ahead!

Emilya slept in until 6:30, when M got up with her and then she went right back down after her bottle. Noah and I slept in until 8:15 and I woke Emilya back up at 8:40 to feed her before packing her up to goto the lake! Noah was soo excited. We ended up leaving the house by 9:15 all packed, no tears- heck even the dog co-operated!! We met my Dad and C, who followed us down to the lake.

The weather was perfect, the lake was as flat as a pancake. It was a perfect lake day! We headed out to the lighthouse for a fun day ahead! Emilya enjoyed her first boat ride and loved being outside for most of the day. She ended up getting a bit fussy because she was hot and tired, so after turning the A/C on in the boat, she fell fast asleep.

Noah had a blast swimming with Gracie, throwing her ball and building sand castles on the beach with his Grandpa's! It was a perfect day!

We had supper back at the dock and then headed home by 8. I can't say our ride home was without tears though. Emilya was not a happy camper! We thought Noah would crash for sure since he only napped for an hour, but nope he stayed awake chatting away the whole ride home! But as soon as his head hit his pillow at home he was fast asleep!

Sunday Emilya slept another long stretch, we were all up just after 7. We enjoyed quiet morning before digging into the work that has been awaiting us. Luckily M was more than happy with our Father's Day celebration on Saturday and was fine with getting stuff done on Sunday! So the boys went to the farm to get some mulch and worked away in the yard all day, swimming to cool off and our yard is looking much better now! We need a bit more mulch and I can say the gardens are done!

I will say after Em was held all day on Saturday, she was super indenpendant on Sunday and loved just laying on her mat or the carpet. Which let me start organizing the mudroom. We swapped the fir uti around, moved the bassinet out of our bedroom and put the pack and play in there. We still have a changing station in the mudroom though after bringing in the dresser we used with Noah. So I worked away at that for most of the day.

We enjoyed bbq'd chicken sitting out on the deck for dinner. It was a nice night. We hadn't brought up the chairs, so just brought the inside ones out until I cleaned the deck with the leaf blower after supper. Now we can bring up the cushions and chairs!

After supper the boys took the backhoe back and then it was bath time and bedtime.
