39 Weeks with Baby V2

How Far Along:
39 Weeks - its baby week!!

Size Of Baby?

Maternity Clothes?
Yes, but if I'm not going out, you bet I'm in pj pants!

Stretch Marks?
Nope! I find myself checking each morning! Grateful for being tall!

Gender?
We will find out in less than a week!!

Name?
Girl names are still on the fence, but boy names are set. I have 2 of each!

Sleep?
Not great. Taking advantage of naps while I can. Pee breaks are more often as well over night!

Cravings/Aversions?
Canned peaches, they are soo good! Oh and two bite brownies!

Movement?
Head is back up in my ribs and I have been feeling a lot of rolling. Kicks and punches feel harder, but not as often!

Weight Gain:
35 pounds! Same weight gain with Noah, but feeling much larger, but with less swelling!

Feeling?
Anxious to meet this little one! Heartburn is back, as baby has moved up again! Baby is still breach! Nose is running a lot more. But I feel good and I know I will miss being pregnant! It feels soo crazy to have made it to my C-section date at 39.5 weeks!

What I Miss?
Sleeping comfortably.

Items Bought for Baby:
I bought a sound machine for the nursery - used, but now we have one!

What the doctor had to say?
We just have a few more days to make it!! Despite my blood pressure not being stable, he said if I could just take it easy for a few more days, we can make it!! No protein in my urine and baby sounded good, but confirmed to still be breach! Another reason tacked on for a C-section. Consent forms were signed!

Highlights:
Making it this far and feeling pretty good for the most part!! I know I will miss this time with with just Noah and I and I will miss being pregnant!! Soaking up these last few days!!

Our basement flooded 4 days before the baby will arrive. What a mess. Not at all what I wanted to deal with before baby!!

Belly Button?
In, but part of it pops out when I laugh. Soo creepy!

38 Weeks with Baby V2

How Far Along:
38 Weeks - officially the furthest along I have ever made it pregnant!! Welcome uncharted territory!!

Size Of Baby?

Maternity Clothes?
Yes, but if I'm not going out, you bet I'm in pj pants!

Stretch Marks?
Nope, trying to remember to put oil on at least once a week or more now because I'm nervous they might come this time since I'm soo much bigger!

Gender?
We will find out in 1 week!! How crazy is that.. Just one week away!

Name?
We will share in 1 week!! Our names are pretty much set, I did add in one more girl name that M is in love with, but I'm on the fence!

Sleep?
Not great. Getting up often to pee and rolling over is definitely a process that requires waking up for!

Cravings/Aversions?
Canned peaches! I also made cherry cheesecake this past weekend and I'm not complaining

Movement?
Baby's movement is less crazy, a little slower, more like a baby now. Lots of rolling, hiccups and somersaults, but still breach!! Baby also dropped a bit this week, so the head is no longer up in my ribs, but I have elbowed it on my side a few times, as s/he seems to like lying across me now!

Weight Gain:
33 pounds! Still under my total gain with Noah, yet soo much bigger!!

Feeling?
Anxious to meet this little one! Heartburn is still kicking around, but a bit better since baby has dropped a bit. I actually feel a little smaller now that the baby has dropped a bit as well!

What I Miss?
Sleeping comfortably.

Items Bought for Baby:
Feels soo weird not needing anything really for this baby and having gender neutral stuff already. I will say I bought more girls stuff this pregnancy and will be taking a boy and girl outfit to the hospital this time.

The replacement diaper pail came in the mail and we bought the baby a scale to weigh the baby at home, since the service is no longer offered in our area. It was something we really enjoyed with Noah, so we justified it!

What the doctor had to say?
Blood pressure was high at my appointment, I didn't feel great, so my OB ended up sending me down to triage for monitoring and blood work. I ended up with a small amount of protein in my urine, but baby did well with the non-stress test and my blood work came back fine. My OB said my wheels are wobbling on my wagon, and that I need to take it easy!

Highlights:
Celebrating Easter with our families.

Enjoying family time just the 3 of us, as much as possible lately. I'm sad my days with just Noah and I are coming to end, but soo excited to add in this baby as well. It's a big change for us all and I am excited to experience it, but I will miss my days with Noah!

Belly Button?
In, but part of it pops out when I laugh. Soo creepy!

37 Weeks with Baby V2

How Far Along:
37 Weeks - officially the furthest along I have ever made it pregnant!!

Gender?
We will find out in 2 weeks!!

Name?
We will share in 2 weeks! Our names are pretty much set, I did add in one more girl name that M is in love with, but I'm on the fence!

Sleep?
Not great. Naps are when I have them though. Baby is still sitting super high, so it is hard to get comfortable at bedtime. Bathroom breaks are also at an all time high now as well!!

Cravings/Aversions?
Two-bite brownies over and over please, oh and skim milk too!

Movement?
Baby's movement is less crazy, a little slower, more like a baby now. Lots of rolling, hiccups and somersaults, but still breach!!

Weight Gain:
31 pounds! Still under my total gain with Noah, yet soo much bigger!!

Feeling?
So incredibly tired still, but feeling soo happy to have made it this far along!! Baby is still up in my ribs, but feeling a lot of pelvic pressure, likely from the excess fluid I'm carrying! I'm starting to get nervous about my csection!!

What I Miss?
Sleeping comfortably.

Items Bought for Baby:
A new drying rack for bottles and pump parts! We went with the boon grass one because it's smaller than our old one!

What the doctor had to say?
Meds are controlling my blood pressure so far! We got our csection date, so we are anxiously awaiting that. Baby is still breach. I ended up waiting over an hour for thus appointment, caught a cold in the waiting room, so clearly I wasn't impressed.

Highlights:
The to-do list is just about completed! I started packing our bags, we discussed our plan for Noah with Mikes parents, so that eases my mind. Just have my pump and parts to sterilize and finish packing my bags! I'd like to get the freezer cookie dough done too, but just haven't got around to it!

To celebrate making this far, here is the big old bare belly!! Soo large!!

Belly Button?
In, but part of it pops out when I laugh. Soo creepy!

36 Weeks with Baby V2

How Far Along:
36 Weeks

Size Of Baby?

Maternity Clothes?
Yes, along with comfy clothes and pjs!! I am at the point where comfortable is best!!

Stretch Marks?
Nope, trying to remember to put oil on at least once a week or more now because I'm nervous they might come this time since I'm soo much bigger!

Gender?
We will find out in April!! If you ask Noah, he insists and will argue that it is a girl!

Name?
We will share in April, our names are pretty much set, I did add in one more girl name that M is in love with, but I'm on the fence!

Sleep?
Not great. Naps are when I have them though. Reflux is at its worst when lying down and after meals. Baby is still sitting super high, so it is hard to get comfortable at bedtime.

Cravings/Aversions?
Two-bite brownies over and over please, oh and skim milk too!

Movement?
Baby is moving and grooving like crazy again.

Weight Gain:
29 pounds! Turns out I hadn't gained any weight over the last 2 weeks and actually lost a pound!

Feeling?
So incredibly tired, especially since being put on blood pressure meds. It's a good reminder to slow down, this I know and I am listening to my body, but it is frustrating as well when you just want to get stuff done, but no energy. I remember this feeling on the meds last time too. Reflux and nausea are still kicking around.

What I Miss?
Sleeping comfortably.

Items Bought for Baby:
I bought a scale for the baby since our well baby clinic isn't offered anymore and I will miss weighing this baby every week!

What the doctor had to say?
Well my blood pressure decided to spike, so I ended up on meds. Baby is still breech, so we discussed what my delivery plan/options are and because my blood pressure has decided to go up, the baby is breech and I had a previous section, he thought it would be safest to go ahead with the planned c-section, which I agreed to as well. He wanted to wait an extra week before setting the date to see how my blood pressure was going to respond. So if I go into labor on my own, as long as baby isn't about to come out, I will have a csection regardless. Feels good to have a plan.

Highlights:
The nursery is ready, for the most part, once we know if it's a boy or girl we can finalize the decor!
Getting our maternity pics back - love them all!!!
Checking off more things off my to-do list!

Belly Button?
In, but part of it pops out when I laugh. Soo creepy!

Weekend Rewind

Phew, another week just zoomed on by and we are back at Monday!! What's happening?

I'm still pregnant, blood pressure is responding to the meds so far - which you will hear more about on tomorrow's blog with the bump date.

We accomplished quite a bit this weekend for me having to take it easy - so grateful for a helpful and understanding husband and our toddler was super co-operative as well!!

Let's rewind to Friday - I had my appt (more details tomorrow), I also did a little shopping while in London, picked up a few Peppa Pig books for Noah, tried the new Harvey's slushies - soo good, especially the grape!!

I found some lamps at home sense for the bedroom, but didn't buy them for some stupid reason. I had it in my head that they were soo expensive. Why is everything soo much more money than I ever remember spending when we first bought our house?? Was I just super cheap? Have my tastes become expensive or am I looking at better quality?? What the heck!! It is such an expensive replacement year as I have mentioned prior, with replacing our toaster, sandwich press, glasses are up next, new lamps for the great room, bedroom and dining room, we still need new towels... Man oh man! Granted I have had the same stuff since we bought our first house, so I got good use out of them all and heck some were even hand-me-downs.

So anyways back to the lamps, after not buying them, discussing them with M and my mom, my sister, etc - you know buying lamps is apparently a big deal? You would swear I was about to drop hundreds of dollars...they were on clearance for $38 each!! I now know that this is a great deal. So Saturday morning I called the store, they still had them and put them on hold for me and my Mom picked them up. Stay tuned for when I get them from my mom, which may be next week! Phew, up next operation find a lamp for the dining room without freaking out over the price!!

Noah and M had a fun boys day, I got home and Noah had to check to see if the baby was still in my tummy!! He must sense the baby will be coming soon!!

Our evening was spent playing and relaxing!

Saturday morning Noah surprised us with a sleep in! We all slept in for the most part. I woke at 7, but managed to stay in bed a bit longer!

We had to make a quick run to the grocery store to pick up a few last minute supplies for our freezer meals we were planning on making, we came home, tidied up and got right to work in the kitchen with making chili.

My cousin and her little guy Gabe came over to play in the afternoon:

After they left, I sorted through a few more baby things, found the towels, swaddled, etc. The boys went outside to get some yard work done and organizing between the shop and the garage and Noah tried to get his truck out, but the battery didn't last long (as we hadn't charged it - oops!!)

We enjoyed chili for dinner and then after Noah went down I worked on the baby quilt I am in the process of making! I got it all put together, so we are over half way done!!

Sunday was a busy one. The clocks sprung forward, so we decided to help Noah transition we would just do everything 30 minutes later than usual. It worked out for the most part. Sunday was a busy day, but I'm happy to say this nesting mama is feeling good! The nursery is all clean and mostly ready, our bedroom is spotless, bassinet is all ready, the mudroom and dining room both cleaned. It was good. We figured out some organization for the baby stuff to be on the main floor for ease post c-section and got laundry done!

Noah was a champ and "helped" us all day, which I get wasn't all that much fun for him. I will say this was the day it dawned on me that I am super pregnant now and I feel it! It could be the new meds, but I felt my body actually telling me to slow down yesterday and I did listen. I ended up napping while M made the hashbrown casserole for the freezer and resting with my feet up inbetween jobs! After dinner we focused on playing with Noah until it was his bedtime. We had quite a few belly laughs and I actually felt my belly button pop out while laughing... Soo creepy!

Because I am supposed to be taking it easy, we are just going to have a low key day today around the house.

34 Weeks with Baby V2

How Far Along:
34 Weeks

Size Of Baby?

Maternity Clothes?
Yes, along with comfy clothes and pjs!! Any chance I can stay in my pjs I'm on it!
Monday:

Friday:

Needless to say there was a bit of a growth spurt this week!

Stretch Marks?
Nope, trying to remember to put oil on at least once a week.

Gender?
We will find out in April!! If you ask Noah, he insists and will argue that it is a girl!

Name?
We will share in April, our names are pretty much set, I did add in one more girl name that M is in love with, but I'm on the fence!

Sleep?
Isn't great. It's like the first trimester all over with sleepless nights, but mainly I'm just uncomfortable. This second pregnancy has been soo much harder on my body as far as aches and pains go. Granted I'm healthier, so it's either the baby's position or second pregnancy I'm blaming.

Cravings/Aversions?
I really just want a salad! Granted I will feel sick after eating it, but I really want one! Nausea is back, so I'm eating small meals.

Movement?
Baby has slowed down with movement, soo happy to have my Doppler to check in on the baby as I please. Baby still likes straight up the middle. I downloaded a kick counter and have started tracking to make myself feel better and baby does meet the criteria, so all is well. I think I was just used to a crazy mover! Baby picked up activity by the end of the week.

Weight Gain:
30 pounds! I'm thinking that stand still I mentioned last week is no longer the case. I feel larger for sure now!

Feeling?
Tired, achey and sore, but I couldn't be happier all at the same time! I'm soo grateful to be able to experience another pregnancy, I will take the unglamorous parts that come with it! Nausea is back, so that sucks feeling like I'm going to throw up at any given point. Add in the reflux and heartburn and I am a hot mess! I also slipped this week at the park and pulled a lower abdominal muscle, which wasn't very fun!

What I Miss?
Sleeping comfortably.

Items Bought for Baby:
My pump parts came in the mail, along with a pair of baby leggings!

What the doctor had to say?
Baby is measuring 2 weeks ahead again, my amniotic fluid is "generous", which explains the crampy pains I have been feeling and why I'm feeling so large. The doctor isn't overly concerned at this point! I was shocked to see that the baby is no longer head down!! We didn't end up with a photo this time from my ultrasound, but we did get the sweetest glimpses of this baby of ours!! Noah enjoyed seeing the baby as well and insisted that it was a girl and if anyone asked him at the hospital he was sure to tell them it is a girl. He will be quite surprised if it is a boy. Blood pressure is still borderline, so we are just creeping on by while we can! C-section is looking to be the very beginning of April, but we will get a date soon enough! Crazy to think how soon that really is!!

Highlights:
Seeing sweet baby V2 again. I can't wait to meet this baby!

Belly Button?
In, but I will say it is getting shallower!

And just for comparison's sake:

32 Weeks with Baby V2

How Far Along:

Size Of Baby?

Maternity Clothes?
Oh ya...

Shirt (new) - Old Navy    Black Jeans - Gap

Yay for new shirts that are long enough! A lot of my shirts from my last pregnancy are not long enough now. I lucked out with buying a few new maternity shirts while in Florida. I also bough some non-maternity shirts that will work for now and post baby!!

Stretch Marks?
Nope, trying to remember to put oil on at least once a week.

Gender?
We will find out in April!!

Name?
We will share in April, our names are pretty much set, I did add in one more girl name that M is in love with, but I'm on the fence!

Sleep?
Much better now that we are hone in our own bed, but I am just really tired!

Cravings/Aversions?
Skim milk, water and rolo ice cream!!

Movement?
Yes. I think I felt the baby doing crunches in my pelvis...

Weight Gain:
22 pounds! Wasn't as bad as I thought!

Feeling?
Pretty good overall. Swelling is no longer an issue, so my rings are back on! Reflux has started :( I am also getting a dry mouth often. I'm tired despite sleeping well now that we are home, but getting up early I'm sure is to blame despite going to bed early!!

What I Miss?
Warm weather!!

Items Bought for Baby:

What the doctor had to say?
Check up went well. I was in an out! Blood pressure is still borderline. He reccomended cutting my workouts down to just 3x a week to help with swelling. My bump is only measuring 1 week ahead now instead of 2 and weight gain was just a few pounds over the last month! I go back in two weeks and will have an ultrasound to check on growth and we will also be getting our c-section date!! I joked with the doctor how easy this pregnancy is compared to my last and he agreed.

Highlights:
Coming home and getting back to our routine!!

Belly Button?
In, but I will say it is getting shallower!

Bump Pic:

Nothing like a good old outtake from taking these photos... Lol

Looking Forward to:
Working in the nursery!!!

Noah - Week 3

Sleeping: 4 hour stretches are amazing, especially during the middle of the night! Our first stretch of sleep at night is usually 4 hours and then 3 hours or so. He usually wakes around 2-3 AM and then 5:30-6:30 AM, which works for us. On Wednesday, Noah decided to stay up 1 AM (which M stayed up with him), I fed him quick shortly after 1 and then he gave us a 5 hour stretch!! I woke him up to feed! I couldn't believe it!! Another 5 hour stretch on Thursday night!

Saturday morning he napped in his bassinet for the first time!! We are trying to transition him out of our bed (where he sleeps in the bummzie). It was rough on all of us!! M kept getting up to check him, I'm stared at the video monitor and Noah kept making noises in his sleep!! But we survived!!

Feeding: Every 2-4 hours, sometimes hourly or half hourly, depending on his mood. We still dislike the hiccups! We have introduced gripe water, but I don't find it helps with the hiccups like the bottle indicates, but we haven't tried the full dose, just dipping the soother.

Noah got super gassy on Saturday late afternoon, it was bad! Poor little man was just out of sorts!! Soo hard to see him like that! We ended up buying Ovol at 10 pm -amazing! Instant relief!!

Clothing: Newborn size!

Diaper Changes: Noah is still wearing newborn diapers. our first evening without Daddy, N peed through his first sleeper, I think because Daddy had checked it before leaving and there must have been a gap in the leg. Then when I went to change the outfit, he was losing his mind and peed over the next one... two outfits down in a matter of minutes!

Remember last week when I said we hate huggies diapers?? We hate them even more now! Noah peed through a huggies diaper, onsie and sleeper while we were out and about. They just really don't work for our little man! I think we have one left... We do like the huggies wipes.

We also stopped putting vaseline in his diaper for his circumcision towards the end of the week, which he transitioned fine with!

Looks: his eyes are more blue everyday!! Hopefully they stay that way and he ends up with his Daddy's eyes!! His hair is still spiky, skin is still darker than both M and I's - I swear my uterus must have been a tropical destination, little man has a tan!

What The Doctor Had To Say: no doctors appointment this week for Noah, although he did get to meet our reproductive endocrinologist, who was pretty happy to meet Noah, and then we had a follow up for me with my OB. I was hoping the doctor that delivered Noah would be in the hospital today, but no such luck! Hopefully we can catch her at my next appt!!

Nicknames: Stretch, Spike, Captain, Mr. Magoo, Little Man, Mama's Monkey, Mr. Shake Rattle and Roll.

Likes: The mamaroo! Car rides, walking when he's fussy, his fleece blanket, bathes, moving, the mamankangourou wrap, country music, the bouncer and snuggles.

Dislikes: diaper changes, outfit changes, when Mommy can't walk him around to settle him, hiccups.

Fur Baby Update: Lux is taking more and more interest in Noah, sitting beside him or sniffing him, but still spooks with sudden movement. He even "baby-sat" while I was in the shower! Noah was in his bummzie and Lux sat on guard beside him! He also checked on Noah while he was sleeping in his bassinet when he fussed. I wish I had a camera available, it was precious!! Gracie is still his best friend, love seeing these two together, Lily will watch him from the distance, but still isn't sure of him, but no one is giving me the cold shoulder anymore!

Personality: This week he has been fighting sleep, little turkey just wants to stay awake, but then gets over-tired, which makes matters worse. I have struggled personally with getting him to sleep during the day when I am home alone with him because I cant just walk laps around the house with my blood pressure to calm him. But this is getting better!!

My Recovery: Blood pressure seems to be dropping more and more, I am cutting myself down to one pill twice a day instead of one in the morning and two at night. Appetite is still lacking, although cookies are enjoyable! Down 4 more pounds, 11 to go - not that I'm even trying yet!

On Wednesday we went to see my OB, who took me off of my blood pressure meds to try, since it kept dropping. He was happy with my progress, cleared me to drive and instead of seeing him in 2 weeks, we can see him in 4 for my 6 week follow up! We will follow up with my family doctor in 2 weeks for Noah's 1 month follow up! Here is to hoping we can stay off the meds, but should it spike, he have me instructions on what to do! I actually felt like a human on Wednesday, was able to go shopping, I was tired from walking but no dizziness!!

Since stopping the meds, I have felt good. I do tire easier, but I'm often reminding myself I had major surgery!!

News on my ankle... It is feeling soo much better!! Amazing what taking anti-imflammatories can do for healing!!

Events: We both survived our first full day and evening of Daddy going back to work and then having fire practice. It was very tiring, neither one of us can lie, we were both beat by the time Daddy could take over! But our second day was perfect!!

We did our first outing together on Thursday to go and get weighed at the baby clinic!! Little man is back at his birth weight!!! We also went for wings in the village with friends Thursday night, so we had a chance to introduce him to a few more people, but he slept through the just about the whole thing!

Friday morning we finished his newborn pics:

Saturday my cousin M and her hubby J came for a visit! My Mom came for the night on Saturday as well!
