Weekend Rewind

I will say this weekend was the first weekend to make me think fall is actually coming. We have been in a heat wave lately, so it was a nice break, but still nice weather to enjoy. Well, Saturday was less desirable with the threat of rain, but it held off!

Friday night I decided getting the kids to bed was more important that seeing one of M's last ball games. I knew Noah had a big day on Saturday, so we opted to stay home, well I opted, the kids had no clue it was an option. I did let Noah watch Finding Nemo after bath time until it was bedtime, which he was super excited about - he LOVES that movie! 

Noah went to bed great (as usual), but Miss Emilya gave me a run for my money and screamed for pretty much 2 hours of my attempting. In my frustration I just laid her on my bed to take a breather and she fell asleep instantly. I had to turn on a light and make sure of this, I couldn't believe it! Apparently she just didn't want to be held anymore or was just to tired to fight any longer. So I put her in her bed and relaxed for the first time for the day before heading to bed myself! 

Emilya slept all night and we all woke up at 7:15 AM. Saturday morning I feel like I was just running around non-stop after my shower. I managed to go through all but one drawer in Noah's room and pull out the clothes that are too small. I folded laundry, put away laundry, got Noah's clothes ready for gymnastics and tidied up.

M got his meat ready for the party, went and picked up buns and propane. It was time to leave for gymnastics before we knew it. 

Noah was pretty excited and just loved the first class. His favorite part was the rings, but they did do soo much more than that. He followed instruction pretty well for it being his first structured class. I'm not sure who was more tired by the end of it. M or Noah? I'm glad I was watching with Emilya! She loved watching them, so it was a win win for us both! 

We picked up lunch on the way home and M got dressed and left for the last game of ball. I will say that I am soo happy ball is done for the year. It just seems like it is one less thing on our plate right now. I feel like once September is over, we will maybe wonder what t do with our time! We started a lot of projects that I want finished before Emilya's baptism, like the porch and pool liner, plus getting her room ready. However, finding time to do these things has been the trick! 

While M was at the ball game, I got the kids both down for a nap and cleaned the main floor, so it was ready for company. We were hosting the end of the year ball game for the team, and luckily the rain held off! The kids all played well together and it was nice to be able to just sit down for a bit after a busy first half of the day! Emilya was entertained by watching everyone around her outside in her jumper!

It was a late night for the kiddos, but we had them in bed by 9 PM and then we hit up the hot tub before going to bed! 

Sunday we had big plans with the pool and then things didn't go as planned. We got the remaining foot of water drained out if the pool. Despite the fact that we were pretty miserable that we had to replace the liner, I decided to find joy in the process and let Noah go jump in the big puddles the hose was making and he loved it! 

 

Just as we worried, the one wall of the pool caved in once the pool was empty and the liner was out, so M had to dig that and fix it. We got styrofoam and started putting it down for under the liner, just to help protect it from getting another hole. 

 

The day quickly disappeared and we didn't get as far as we wanted, but it will happen... Eventually!

Weekend Rewind

Happy Monday friends!! What a happy Monday? Well it's a Happy Birthday to me Monday - we will see what the day has in store for me. In the meantime we will rewind the weekend:

Friday night M burnt our burgers to a crisp! I thought Noah was just saying "FIRE" but the BBQ was legit on fire! Guess M will have to clean the BBQ! We ended up having grilled cheese for supper... M had baseball, so I was on solo bedtime duty. It didn't not go down well at all. At one point they were both screaming. Emilya isn't napping well at all with her new teeth coming in! She is definitely getting a bottom tooth (it's poked through already), but I am convinced that it won't be long before the one beside it comes up. This is soo crazy to me, becaus Noah didn't get teeth until 9 months!! 

I did end up getting both kids down and by 9 PM! So it was half a mommy win! I decided to rent a pay-per-view since Bell offered me a free one. I chose Mother's Day, since the cast was loaded with big actresses like Jennifer Anniston, Julia Roberts, etc. It was alright, maybe I just expected better because of the fully loaded cast. I was glad I didn't pay $6 for it! But I will say the renting process was super easy! 

Saturday morning M and Noah went to the farm to get the pressure washer and the backhoe. They
had a small job to do in the morning. While they did that, Em and I worked upstairs for a bit. I took an inventory of Noah's wardrobe and I think I bought the wrong sizes for fall! Let's just say Noah has a whole bunch of 4T clothes... Like I won't buy another thing in that size and not so much in 3T... - the size that fits. Oops!! I will go through his drawers and get a better idea on the situation and see just what he needs. 

When the boys got back, Em was napping, so I went outside and quickly came up with a new plan for the front porch! We need to repaint the porch and the one side of the railing was actually rotting. So, I decided that I would like an opening to come off the side of the porch instead of walking around to the front. So M ripped off that part of the railing and will have to fix up the posts and build a new step going up to it! I think it will look great! I got started with power washing. I always wondered why
people cleaned thier driveways, etc. but this made a night and day difference! Our house was filthy! I've got a lot of painting coming up in the nearest future, after we give everything a light sanding. But our screen door (wooden), rocking chair, front porch, garage door trim, and front door all need some paint and we will reseal the front porch deck. 

The day literally flew by with M and I taking turns watching the kids as we tackled various jobs around the house, with power washing being mine, his was cutting the lawn, working on the pool, and working on the deck railing. I managed to get just over half of the house and porch power washed before we decided to make a run into Home Depot. Emilya screamed the whole time - over tired for sure, but we got everything we needed except sand paper! 

We grabbed Swiss Chalet for dinner and headed home to eat! This kid was spun!! So we played for a bit before bedtime! 

Pretty sure I went to bed early! 

Sunday morning we just had some good old fashioned family time! Playing, waffle breakfast and then we planned out the day, as we still had a list of things to accomplish! 

 

 

I finished power washing the house, with a few breaks to hang out with these two.

M and Noah went into town to pick up my birthday cake (ice cream cake - my request) and brought home lunch. After lunch the kids napped. While they napped I finished the power washing and got my work out in! I missed two days... Technically one if you count one of the missed days as a rest day! Sometimes life just gets to busy, although I am sure I made it up for it on the days I missed! 

M went swimming to try and find the hole in our liner and was successful!! Then he headed to ball!!

When the kids woke up we headed down to the ball park just as M was finishing his ball game! So we played at the park for a bit instead!! 

 

We came home, had a spaghetti supper and then went back outside to work on the new step for the front porch! Best little helper around: 

 

 

Next thing we knew, it was bedtime!! 

Today we are hanging around home and then heading to the farm for my birthday dinner and ice cream cake! 

Weekend Rewind

Likely the most boring weekend rewind in a while - just sayin!!

Friday night Noah was off to the lake for his first weekend sleep over!! M and I ordered take out from the restaurant and hung out in a quiet house before he headed to ball and I headed to hang out with the ladies with Emilya! She stayed awake the whole evening and flight sleep like a champ fort he whole girls night, but she was at least happy while doing it! 

Saturday morning we all woke up at 7:30, I got some laundry started and we picked up the house a bit. We face timed with Noah to see how his first night away on the boat was, and it went well, aside from waking up early! 

We packed up for the ball game and headed out!! I will say Emilya travelled not to badly this weekend!! Fingers crossed she's growing out of it or getting better at entertaining herself! Once we got to ball park, I put her sleep and enjoyed watching the whole game, interruption free without worrying where Noah was! They won that game, but had a huge gap inbetween games, so we welcomed the team back to our house inbetween games. 

The kids swam, we ordered pizza and relaxed for a few hours. M and and I at least enjoyed getting the photo updates of Noah's weekend away - my one request haha. 

The guys won their next game and then didn't play again until Sunday at 12:45! I had a pounding headache, thanks to his head cold M shared with me, so we picked up supper and came home! I enjoyed a soak in the hot tub, which helped my headache and then we had a quiet night! Pretty sure I was in bed by 10 PM! 

Sunday morning we were all up by 7:30 again! M and I decided that a full weekend away from Noah is just too long, plus then M doesn't get any time with Noah! We will stick with overnights instead! 

 

I finished making the zucchini loaves - the zucchini our neighbour gave me made 8 loaves in total!! We are going through freeze them! We hung a few pictures in Em's nursery, cleaned Noah's room and I had a quick shower before we headed back to ball! 

 

The ended up with only 9 players and got mercied! 

So we headed home with a tired Emilya and while she napped at home with M, I ran into town and grabbed groceries! I also bought a dual DVD player for the car to see if it will help distract Emilya by giving her something to focus on! 

 

Noah didn't get home until 6 PM! M and I were pretty antsy to see him and we did get the biggest hugs when he got home. We had dinner with M's parents, and played for a bit before they went home and we got everyone ready for bed! 

This little lady was especially happy to see Noah, although she learned how to make up for the noise she was missing and was constantly chatting all weekend!! 

 

We all sure missed this squish this weekend! But he did have fun at the lake with Grandma and Grandpa!! 

 

So there you have it, a rather quiet uneventful weekend it was, and as much as it was a nice break, just too long!!

Weekend Rewind

This weekend was great!! One wedding down, one more to go this coming weekend!

Friday night was our first night home all summer - no ball!! It was great! We celebrated with a nice comfy night on the couch, watching the good wife of course, while Noah has in bed by 8:30! I will admit, it was kinda nice being able to stay home and not go out, especially since the weather has decided to go all fall-like already! 

My allergies have been horrible! Ragweed has made my face and sinuses swollen, it is horrible! Of course I am trying not to take any meds, but I've had to give up and take Benedryl! 

Saturday morning M was supposed to go finish a job, but it was raining, so we lounged in our pjs all morning and had some good old family time! Then we had to get ready for the wedding that we had! The wedding was great, nice and low key, simple and filled with family! Noah was making strange with new people, all the lights, etc, but overall he did great! Not to mention how cute did he look??

We were home around 9:30! Noah had a rough time settling after all the lights and excitement at the wedding, but finally gave in and slept all night! 

Sunday we headed to Toronto. My allergies were even worse, but I refused to let that hold me back from enjoying our day celebrating M's birthday. Yes of course it was in August, but I got him Jays tickets for yesterday's game!

The jays were not off to a good start, but with 2 out in the last inning, they decided to tie up the game and go into extra innings! It was pretty intense! 

But they ended up losing in the extra inning! 

It was a fun filled afternoon! We headed home right after and of course I ended up in the back of the truck on the way home, so this mama was feeling pretty carsick ontop of the bad allergies! 

We got home, fed the little monster and then just as we were about to head out for a family walk I ended up with a nose bleed, on top of my headache and my allergies hit the all time high. Defeat! I wasn't going anywhere! I could barely talk I was soo congested! So I got my Pjs on and settled in on the couch with a box of Kleenex, Vicks, Benedryl, and water! 

Luckily today I am feeling somewhat better! My face is still swollen, but my nose isn't constantly dripping - yet! 

Weekend Rewind

What a gorgeous weekend we had and I cannot help but to say it is about time!!! If only it was supposed to last!!

This weekend zoomed on by! Friday night the ball team took another win! They are on a streak now!!

This little man lasted longer than I thought! But with that being said he did have a nice 2 hour nap in the afternoon!!

Saturday M was busy doing a backhoe job around the corner, so Noah and I hung out all day long! While he was napping I finally finished his rag quilt:

M came home for lunch, with extended an invitation from the people he was working for to come hang out poolside and meet his wife and kids. So Noah and I got into our swimsuits and walked back down with M! It was great meeting another SAHM in the village and her 2 little boys! Noah and I did enjoy a swim, as the weather was nice and hot!! I even put on my brave face and dunked Noah in the pool!! He did well!! He cried afterwards, but I think it was out of shock that I actually did it! He didn't gasp for air or anything! He calmed down shortly after, but did flash his stink eye at me:

Noah went down for a nap in his stroller while I continued visiting. I decided I better get this snoozing baby home soon and get supper going, as M figured he would be finished shortly, however he ended up being longer than he thought!

We decided on burgers since they would be quick, but just as they finished M got a fire call, so there I found myself trying to get the burgers off the BBQ with a screaming baby, who was upset Daddy left! Little things like that seem like such a big deal to Noah when he is tired! This only two naps a day makes for a long evening!! I finally got Noah calmed down, ate dinner and just as I was considering bathing him myself, M got home! As the 2nd department on call they were able to deem it controlled (it was just some smoke from an electrical panel) and the primary department could handle it! 

Sunday started with a sleep in, heck even Noah slept in until 6:45 and then 9:45!! I was up before him! M and I didn't waste much time, laundry was going, after I fed Noah, M took Noah out with him to do some running around, brought back Keg (the dog we are watching this week) to play with the dogs for the day. I shaved both dogs down! Hard to believe they still have hair: 

Since it was grooming day, we ended up bathing Keg too! He is just such a big dog (Great Dane crossed with a Saint Bernard). M loves having him here!! He is a tall persons dog, that is for sure, as he is taller than my waist:

I had such a long to-do list for the day for us both to complete and although we didn't get around to everything, we did get a good chunk done including M fixing the one gate on the deck that I cursed at every time! I started making my maternity photo book, got some laundry folded and put away, we enjoyed a swim with friends - yes I actually went in our pool for the first time this year!! It was 75! Brrr! But I vacuumed while I was in there! We enjoyed a nice steak dinner and then an evening walk:

We settled into our evening bedtime routine for Noah and then enjoyed some downtime! 

Today Noah has his 6 month shots! Wish us luck!!

{weekend rewind - lake style}

We had a great weekend, not quite as productive as I would have liked, but we did our best!!

Friday we had the structural engineer back out, they cut a hole in the roof and well... It doesn't sound good!! But instead of stressing about it, we will wait and see what insurance says - although if you know me, I'm stressing about it!! 

Friday night - baseball... Noah wasn't a fan of the cold weather or the fact that they lost!! 

Saturday morning M worked, but Noah and I got some house work done. And some playtime: 

When M got home, he attempted to install the new dishwasher to learn half way through that we needed a part to install it. I had lasagna going, sowe had to finish cooking it first and put it I. The oven before we left, so M cut the lawn instead while he waited! 

Once we could put the lasagna in the oven, we ran into town for the part, came home and the lasagna was ready, we enjoyed a nice dinner and then M hooked up the dishwasher! 

Once Noah was in bed, he went outside and got the pool pump hooked on so we could finish filling the pool! I'm hoping to have it up and running this week!! 

Sunday was M's first Fathers Day! We all enjoyed a sleep in, even though I had to force Mike to sleep in. We put the new dishwasher on - love it!! Quiet and cleaned really well!! Then we packed up and headed to the lake!! Noah's first trip to the lake!! 

We got M a hot stone massage for Fathers Day!!

Today Noah is 4 months!! 4 months??? Can you believe it?? I can't!! Daddy came with us today to get his shots and this Mama did much better!! Actually Noah did better this time too because they did two shots at the same time - less traumatic!!
