Another Tuesday Weekend Rewind

You would think we just skip Monday's all together over here lately... But really they have just been super busy and I've been super lazy come Sunday night to write a scheduled post!

Today we started off with a sleep in till 9 AM, which I knew I would regret later, but hoped it would give Noah the extra sleep he would need to skip his morning nap because we had W's 3rd birthday party! It was actually really nice to have a birthday on a Monday! However, by the end of the party Noah was beat, so I ran some errands, picking up some robeez boots for Noah since his snowsuit has no feet in them!

Then we came home, had lunch, played a bit and attempted (several times) to nap, but they just didn't happen! No nap Noah was in full force! Luckily Noah loves this little people barn I bought used for $15 in like new condition! Great buy! I saw it at Walmart for $50 and I ended up getting extra toys with it!

Our day began to fall apart quickly when Noah decided to use his house as a walker and fell face first in it giving himself his first shiner! I'm sure this is the first of many! Walking is dangerous!

On to Sunday - we had a super busy day! We started the morning off with preparing dinner to take out with us to my cousins and then went through the freezers. That is such a big job and it is suprising to me how much food we have that I forgot about! Now I have an inventory! I also went through Noah's clothes and put them into bins! Soo many clothes! Such a big and sad job!

Then we headed to my sisters when Noah woke up from his nap for Brandon's 3rd birthday! Yes soo many 3 year olds!!

He took blowing out his John deer candle quite seriously!

We left my sisters around 2:30 and headed to Guelph to visit my cousin and meet sweet baby Gabriel! We stopped at Costco first and typically we were in and out, I don't know how we luck out with this every time we go to that one in particular and then we got gas for super cheap!!

When we arrived at my cousins, M got dinner warming up in the oven while visiting of course and I snuggled the sweet baby boy! Crazy to think Noah was once this small!! They were born the exact same weight and length and exactly 11 months apart!

We had brought over ham, scalloped potatoes, fresh green beans and baguette for dinner and I made some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies for Melissa!

Noah began to tire quickly, so after dinner we packed up and headed home.

Saturday morning both M and Noah slept in until 9:30 while I had a nice quiet morning! We had a busy day making lots of baby food for Noah! Pears, apples and carrots! We also had Hannah and Brandon over as my sister had a funeral. Little miss Hannah just wanted to help with everything, so when it came to peeling carrots - something she had never done before, we let her try!

About 2 carrots in she decided peeling carrots was difficult (her words) and that she didn't want to anymore! Mike convinced her to try one more and then it was back to playing! Gracie likes to get in on the playing, so I wasn't surprised to look up to find her in the tent with Brandon:

If you look hard you can see Brandon in there too!! Silly kids! I did laugh hysterically when Brandon found Gracie sitting on his blanket! You bet they had a tug-of-war! Noah had a nap and the kids had some lunch. Then it was time to peel apples! Hannah loved this job! She also loved eating the peels!

When that was done we baked some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies to take to my cousin. The kids loved helping me bake:

After the cookies were done and Noah was finished his lunch we headed down the park to play! Our neighbours were there too with their little girl and dog, so the dogs had fun playing and the kids did too!

After the kids left, M and I finally got Noah down for a second nap and then we headed into town to grab some groceries!!

Friday night was pretty low key!

That's our weekend wrapped up!! Holy long post!!

Weekend Warriors

Yup - no doubt that is what I am nick naming M and I on this Monday morning after completely a crazy long to-do list, that I didn't actually think we would complete having Noah with us all along the way! But we managed - somehow, someway! No doubt come Sunday evening we were beat!

The list:

After reviewing and coming up with a game plan, we decided right off the hop that we would not be completing the toy room! This weekend was gorgeous and the toy room is a project for a rainy day! But fear not, we threw in some extra projects to keep us outside, like close the pool, and bath the dogs.

Friday night we made some last minute plans to visit some friends, however, we ended up cancelling last minute because we could not get out of the house without Noah crying. Poor guy was out of sorts because of this damn cold! I even made cherry cheesecake. M ended up running to town after we got Noah to bed and surprised me with McFlurries when he got home!

Saturday morning I had a little sleep in, we had some family time before starting the list! It was soo funny that both M and I really enjoy crossing things off the list! Needless to say I will be making weekend lists more often!

We started with Noah's pictures, which you will see tomorrow in his 7 month post (better late than never), which reminds me I have soo much catching up to do on this little blog of mine... Newborn photos, Naming our Son, finish recapping our trip out west this summer, the renovation updates, etc. We decided to divide and conquer a few items and then we got ready and headed down to a birthday party around the corner for our friends little guy who turned 1! We only stayed a few hours because Mr. Noah was in need of a nap!

I have actually started putting the phone off the hook when Noah naps lately because we have found it to wake him. Nothing is more frustrating than waking a sleeping baby, who doesn't go down easy for nap time- especially when it takes me over an hour sometimes to get just 20 minutes!

When we got home, we put Noah down and got right to work outside. Of course his nap was short lived, so we set up the pack and play outside and he played while I vacuumed the pool and M weeded the garden and cut the front lawn.

He didn't last long in the pack and play either! Once again he is just out of sorts with this cold! So I brought him inside, fed him, while M cut the lawn. We decided to try another nap, which we had more success, so I hung laundry out and M continued working on the yard! S and W stopped by for a quick visit as well, which was a nice surprise!

We managed to cross off a few more items off the list before bath time and then bedtime. We ended up eating some cherry cheesecake, as our back up plans fell through with our friends again when their little guy got a fever.

Sunday we spent more time together, closed the pool, put away laundry, made baby food - side note pureed chicken is nasty!!

Look at that grin over blueberries!! He LOVES them!

We took this sweet picture:

Then we took advantage of the warm weather and bathed the dogs!! All in all we got soo much done, yet spent soo much time together at the same time! It was great! Here is how the to-do list ended up:

And a few add ons:

Overall it was a great weekend! We were happy campers come 8:30 Sunday night when we sat down to relax! We were sure Noah was going to have a rough night with his cough, but he finally settled when we went to bed!

Today we are enjoying nice weather again, although I think groceries will end up being done today too!!

October To-Do Check Up/ November To-Do

Before we get to lists, note that I am combining the two posts today because as I mentioned November is pretty much a write off as far as getting much done, so I'm trying to remain realistic with what we can accomplish. M is in fire training for the first two weekends, so it will be hard to accomplish  much at those times, which leaves us 2 weekends, but not whole weekends because busy season is on with the buisness - which means they start working Saturdays!

Also don't miss out on my give away!! Your winning chances double because she is almost at 100 likes, which means she is doing a GIVE AWAY on top of mine!!

September To-Do List Reviewed

September To Do List

- put away glass wear in TV cabinet
- put up different shelf in TV cabinet  - turns out this shelf is non-existant. We have a bigger shelf for the upper part of the cabinet, not the bottom bigger part.
- take queen bed out of the nursery
- figure out maternity clothes storage - I cleared myself a drawer and small section in the closet
- Mike - purge clothes
- bath and brush both dogs - they also got paw-dicures!!
- wash bench seat cover
- kitchen hardware - he only has a few left to do, and they involve a long process, so its not a quick fix.
- bring bassinet in the house - once we get my Dad's stuff out of our shop this will get done
- find bassinet bedding
- pick out nursery paint color - we've just got the grey color to settle with. We have it down to 3 options, but the aqua is done!
- clean out nursery - half way done!
- seed the lawn again - this will wait to spring, but I am impressed with the growth that has sprouted up from our last seeding!
- wash cat bedding
- make dining room curtains  - I've realized I don't have enough fabric to do my initial plan, so I am brainstorming a new one to accommodate the fabric I have!
- clean vehicle interiors - Mikes truck is done because his Dad did it for him... lucky bum!
- make new wreath
- clean bath tub
- deal with memory cards
- organize pics on hard drive
- tidy basement

What else did we get done?

- got the baby's crib
- changed our bedroom around and cleaned it top to bottom
- cleaned my hard drive up completely
- re-organized most of my office, but we still have some re-arranging to do to accommodate a bed in there instead of a table. Bye-bye sewing station!
- purged a few bins of table clothes and what not from our old table. They wont fit my new table, so why keep it?
- sold some of my extra Scentsy stock I had kicking around! I have decided to let the business go.
- cleaned all the windows on the main floor, inside and out!
