K8T Crochet Review

Happy Friday Friends!! Today Noah wanted to share one of his newly favorited shops from Etsy called K8T Crochet!!

Kait is a fellow stay at home mom and Canadian!!! She offers free and fast shipping, which of course is a bonus!!

Kait makes a variety of hats including all of these owl hats:
Free Shipping in Canada, Crochet Owl Hat, Cotton yarn, Infant to Child

or these minion ones:
Free Shipping in Canada, Crochet Minion Hat, infant to child, cotton yarn

She offers a variety of sizes from newborn to toddler!!

Kait also offers these adorable booties
Free Shipping in Canada, Crochet Slippers, infant, crocodile stitch

and womens boot socks:
Free shipping in Canada, women's boot socks, crochet

Of course I loved the owl hats and it was really hard choosing which one to go with, but I ended up choosing this one in 3-6 months

It fits Noah a little big still, but that just means we will get a bit more wear out of it. However we really love the hat! Noah is quite picky when it comes to hats!

(it is getting harder and harder to get him to sit still anymore when he is awake!)

Overall the hat is made really well. I personally know just how hard these hats are to make, but overall for the price I was just better off buying one instead of making one. I might make one myself when he is older and it will fit for a longer period of time like as a child. I am also far from fast at making them and don't have the time

Noah offering a little sass:

Be sure to pop over to Kait's Etsy shop HERE and give her some love!!

You know you want to!!

Huge thanks to Kait for sending me this hat to review!! We couldn't be happier with the hat!! It was great working with you!!!

Have a great weekend friends!!

31 Weeks

How Far Along:
31 weeks - January 5 - 11, 2014

Size Of Baby?

Baby is becoming more pink and less red this week as fat fills in under the skin. His/her irises can now dilate as well!

9ish more weeks to go!! This week we hit less than 2 months on the count down!!

Maternity Clothes?
Still able to mix in a few non-maternity items like this shirt:

Love that it is a comfortable option, although it didn't get much wear previous to being pregnant! It was a bit big, but now it fits better! It might just get put away with my maternity clothes when we are all said and done in 2 months!

Ready for my OB appt on Friday:

Stretch Marks?
Still just a small one, but nothing really noticeable.

Gender?
Team Green!

What the Doctor Had To Say:
Baby is a growing machine! Still measuring ahead as far as my belly is concerned. Blood pressure is back to being borderline. So he has decided to do another ultrasound come my next appointment, where he will also most likely decide to increase my blood pressure meds. In the meantime I will monitor closely at home. We will also most likely come up with our birth plan at our next appointment. Baby is back into breech position.

Sleep?
Is not happening. Hit my all time high for bathroom breaks in one night (3) and have just been tossing and turning non-stop seeing every hour on the clock. Napping isn't even going well! My dreams this weeks were out of this world! I dreamt we adopted a baby elephant??? And mentioned the other one below in crazy pregnant moment!

Baby Purchases This Week:
Purchased a car seat net used, as well as a baby on board sign.

The baby's custom hats I ordered from  TheA-dorable Designs on etsy came in and I couldn't be happier with how they turned out!!
Can't wait to see the baby in them!! I have an awesome give away coming up from the shop within the next week or two! Stay tuned!!

Made this Week:
Crocheted away

Cravings/Aversions?
I am definitely eating smaller meals now. Cravings have pretty much curbed at this point since I'm not loving the side effects. Water is my best friend right now.

I did spoil myself with Cinnabon after maternity clothes shopping. I always wondered why Cinnabon was soo awkwardly located in the mall, until Friday when I rewarded myself with Cinnabon after trying on clothes (what a chore). It is conveniently located near the maternity stores!! Duh! What prego isn't going to smell Cinnabon and hit it up? Haha

Movement?
Feeling lots of tumbles and rolls, kicks and hiccups. Baby V is quite active and I am loving it!!
While shopping I had a stop and breath moment, not sure if it was a contraction or just a really BIG movement, but it made me stop for a moment. My energy level for shopping is dwindling, so our babymoon shopping trip should be interesting. Not sure if it's my foot that's causing the issues or just not being active for a month - maybe both!

Feeling?
I feel great despite the lack of sleep. I think being able to get up and move around more freely is helping, as I finally feel able to get things done myself, but in short intervals.

Reflux and heart burn have been big contenders this week.

Weight Gain:
It's been a while since I've updated this, but now that my cast is off the weight they take at the doctors office is now more accurate. My cast weighed 5 pounds!! We are looking at about 20 - 22 pounds so far.

Highlights:
We had our prenatal birthing class this week. We opted for the one day course instead of weekly classes. Turns out we knew some of the couples in our class from high school and we are all due around the same time! The class was informative, just long with horrible chairs!!

Belly Button?
In, but it is getting flatter and flatter.

Wedding Rings?
On and loose.

Best Moment of the Week?
Hearing sweet baby V and getting those adorable hats in the mail was pretty darn exciting! Also knowing that our baby is going to be here in less than 2 months feels soo surreal!

Crazy Pregnancy Moment:
Had my first dream about the baby's sex. Although it made no sense because first it was a girl, then a boy... Crazy pregnant dreams. But the name stuck out for the boy! So although the sex wasn't clear, the baby was cute and the boy names we struggle with was settled.

Bump Pic:

And bare belly shots...

Looking Forward To:
My baby shower!!! I honestly feel sooo honoured and incredibly lucky to be able to celebrate my baby shower with my closest friends and family!

Finally Friday

After the flu last week and fleas this week, I'm ready for the weekend! Our house is clean, laundry is piled up though, but we are making progress and I have bedroom curtains again! Bonus! Oh and I didn't awake to snow! It's going to be a good weekend!

1) looking forward to going to a Ladies One Stop Shop tonight with J and then hanging out afterwards with G and the men. It's been forever since we have hung out with friends! Pretty much 2 months!!

2) turns out our plans to hold off on anymore renovations in the house this year has changed! Our super dated bathroom is on the short list now that the faucet is beyond repair and the tub is leaking! This room is pretty much original from when it was built, so it's necessary. So we are coming up with a plan to go along with our budget. Basically we need a new tub and surround, floors and double sink vanity with storage. As annoyed as I am to have to do this project with a baby on the way, I'm excited to have it done and to know that it's the last big project our house needs!

3) we are registering this weekend! I'm guessing this is going to be a big job, since M has input on everything, even things I don't care about - he does! It is really cute to think about, I just hope it doesn't take too long! We plan to buy most things in the states and a lot of our big purchases are decided on, like car seat, swing, pack and play, and stroller which we plan to purchase ourselves. But I am looking forward to it all and checking it off the list!

4) hopefully we will also get the gardens cut back and patio furniture put away weather dependant. I see a lot of rain in our forecast. Which is better than the snow I've been seeing the last couple of days. We also need decide on a furniture paint color, but might just end up buying one if wall colors and get that going. Who knows!

5) I need to get going on some DIY baby projects too! The crocheted baby blanket is well on its way, but I need to get fabric to start this quilting process. The crunch is on now that we are past the half way point and I feel it!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

This Weekend I....

Oh Monday.... you always come waay too soon!!!

Our weekend was great, we managed to find time with friends, hit up that antique shop and do laundry... LOTS of laundry.

Clearly I didn't know how far behind I got, but I am just about back on track!!

M and I hit up the antique shop again on Saturday, purchased the shelf to turn into the bench, bought the vanity and got a sweet deal!  Here is how the granite matches the grey wall:

Another home reno - rather simple though, is coming our way!!

I plan to post the DIY bench sometime this week! I am soo happy with how it turned out!! Sneak Peak:

Got this book in the mail today!!! Love having all my pictures all together!!

Watched the superbowl... Ravens had a stellar game!!! Beyonce's performance was great!!

I also finished crocheting myself a winter headband!! I am pretty happy with how it turned out:

This morning on my way to work - I went down a hill sideways - good times!! The best part is I was behind a snow plow that was doing nothing!! They aren't the best at moving snow in the city I work in! Stupid weather!! Jamaica can't come soon enough!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Random Wednesday/Loves

I know I said a give away was coming and it is, I promise! Tomorrow I will be posting all about it!!

I am linking up with a new blog today that I am excited to start following. Her name is Shanna and she blogs over at Because Shanna Said So! Go check her out!!

  • It is cold out - like REALLY cold...
-17... the windchill though makes it feel like -28. Yuck!!! and Brrr...
  • So we are staying at a hotel this week and decided to go for a swim last night and soak in the the hot tub. My lovely husband hit the panic button instead of the button that turns on the jets... Yes... it really happened and you bet there was an audience. No one came to the rescue though, M had to go to the front desk and tell someone, who then reassured him it happens all the time and shut it off. Nonetheless humorous.
  • We had a nice dinner at The Keg last night!!! This nice warm fireplace kept us warm!!
  • I am officially First Aid Certified again. Yesterday was a long day sitting in the first aid class... like really long... long want to pull your hair out, is time really passing.. long. But I aced the test and they certified me!
Now for some Loves:

I am considering this for my mudroom - since I reclaimed my full length mirror in the bedroom!

Pinned Image

I don't think I will hang leashed on it or anything, but if I could find a mirror, with pics beside it or something like that it would be perfect.

I love this:

I also find that this quote encourages strength:

I am looking for a new crocheting project. A friend of min asked me if I could make this:

I think I am gunna give it a try!!

I am considering trying my hair curled like this tonight or tomorrow night... we shall see:

Love Kate's blog! Soo many hair/make-up tutorials!!

Happy Wednesday friends!! Be sure to pop back tomorrow to find out about an awesome NECKLACE give away!!

Operation Oganization

Today I went a mystery tour with K! We had no idea where we were going to end up, but I will tell ya, the deals were found!!

I have been shopping around for storage bins for our cube shelves and I lucked out! For only 2.99 each, I bought 9 cubes for the mudroom:

I also bought some fabric to make some infinity scarves, some fabric for my sisters cat beds and of course some chevron material:

Found this basket for my crocheting materials:

I practiced my self control in Urban Barn and Bed Bath and Beyond and didn't purchase anything. I also made it through Old Navy without a purchase!!

Then I got home and my sister sent me a picture of these:

For only $5 these chevron baskets will make it to my house soon!! My chevron collection just grew and I can't wait to welcome them!!

I now have the storage solutions to get organized. I just need to do the get organized part, but I am one step closer!

What a great day off today, now tonight I have a photo book to make thanks to Shutterfly offering me a free one, as well as chocolate chip banana muffins to bake and zumba class to partake in tonight.

Happy Tuesday friends!!

Loves on Wednesday

Hello Wednesday!!!

I am happy to share my loves today because there are so many of them!!

First of all I love that thy are calling for double digit temps for Friday and Saturday and when I say double digits I mean in the positive direction, not negative! Hoping it will melt this now!!! I am also hoping they don't change the forecast!  It's 4 degrees Celsius here today!!

I loved getting back into Zumba last night!! After having more than a month off, it was good to feel those muscles aching again!!

I found this awesome crocheting/knitting website called Raverly. Sign up is free and it has free patterns! Score!!

I love that I am off today!!

I am loving the following pins:

I am hoping Mike will make me this soon:

Thoughtless Thursday

Today is literally a thoughtless Thursday. I forgot to schedule posts for yesterday, as well as today and let's be honest I don't see myself finding time to schedule one for tomorrow.

Soo here we go:

- I need to finish B's hat before the 24th. I also need to crochet some more dish clothes. When? I am not sure, but my deadline is getting awfully close!!

- M and I are not going to have dinner cooked at home until after Christmas. Last night we had dinner at the farm, tonight is Take Out Thursday, tomorrow we have a Christmas Party, Saturday we have dinner with N & M, Sunday we could cook a meal, but let's be honest why bother? We will pick something up. Monday we have dinner at my sister's for our Christmas get together with my Mom and well Christmas day we get 2!!

- This week of work is sooo tiring! Don't get me wrong, I love my job, and I don't mine the extra hours, but there is NOTHING to do!! That makes for very long days!!

- Here is a little TV talk for you:

                 - anyone watch Private Practice: talk about cliff hanger - she is having the babies!

                 - and while discussing cliff hangers, Chicago Fire - holy smokes!! When the heck does it come back on?!

                 - who is going to win X Factor? I am thinking Tate!!

- Last night when M and I got home we found more ornaments on the ground. Turns out Jazz is not the only culprit! Lux and Binx are in on it too! Brats!!! I love how the tree has been up for almost a month and they are just now being entertained by it!

- The bad weather we were supposed to get has only brought a bit of freezing rain this morning, but it was melted by the time I needed to go to work! We will see what tomorrow brings though!

Did I mention that tomorrow is Friday and then I am off until next Friday?!

Have a great Thursday!!!

Friday Letters

Photobucket

Dear Weather - I am soo happy you are not snowing or even super cold!! If you want to stay above 0 all winter long, I am A-OK with that! Thanks!

Dear Body - Thank you for just bouncing back weight wise - not strength wise! I was pleasantly surprised that I have officially lost 9 pounds now (that's an additional 1.5 pounds gone)!! This excites me tremendously!! I thought my pants had been fitting bigger and now I know why - no complaints!! Soo close to the magic 10!!! I also appreciate my skin clearing up!

Dear Lux: I love that you have finally found your own spot in bed and that it doesn't really involve me at all!! Plus I benefit from listening to you purr yourself to sleep because you are on your own pillow beside my head! Thanks for finally figuring it out!!

Dear Weekend: If I survive you, I will be pleased! This weekend is going to be crazy BUSY!! Tonight is PIE NIGHT!!! Yes a night dedicated to eating pie!! It is perfect, although it probably won't put me closer to losing that one more pound... haha!  Tomorrow M works in the morning - they are soo busy, but busy means business is good, so I will try not to complain! Then we are going to head out to hopefully finish our Christmas Shopping, although I am sure M has not even started on me yet! I am pretty sure more than 50% of my shopping has been done online!! Score!! Sunday we have a family gathering for Uncle Hudson, who passed away a couple of weeks ago.

Dear Hot Tub - it was soo nice to get re-acquainted last night!!! M and I enjoy your presence in our life!!

Dear Pinterest: Thanks for encouraging me to try new things, like crocheting a hat for Hannah - just need to add the eyes and beak and I have an owl hat!!!

I think M is finally beginning to appreciate you as well - we tried new potatoes last week!

I didn't get chance to blog yesterday because I was making pies and butter tarts with M's Mom!! And believe it or not I didn't get a picture either! I will try tonight!
