{High Five Friday}

Sadly vacation is over, but suprisingly enough, I am okay with it! I feel refreshed and rejuvenated and am ready for our everyday life and routine back!

Some fun things happened this week! 

1} We went to Costco on Wednesday and they had yoga pants on sale! They are seriously super comfy! I got Noah a new outfit and a sleeper, and I got this new hand cream!! 

It is soo awesome!! Highly recommend it!! 

2} I went for a fill for my gel nails and ended up trying shellac instead! I actually have real nails right now! But I am still not sure of them yet, so I am trying them out, we will see if I ended up biting my nails with these on, if so, I will get the gels again! I do love the color options though! Here is what I went with:

3} On Wednesday Noah also got a pleasant gift in the mail from Nicole for his birthday. Needless to say, he loves the gift, including the Dr. Seuss book:

4} steal of a deal, as well as a DIY project is coming up soon! I bought this wicker couch for the front porch and you bet I am going to paint her up pretty!! The tables came too!! (Sellers photo) It definitely needs some TLC!! 

I'm thinking:

Maybe a nice Aqua or grey or I might keep it white and just freshen it up! What do you think? 

I also want to paint the front door with a punch of color! The front porch needs a new paint job too!! 

5} Tonight we have a couples night! Looking forward to having some adult time and we might even play some Cards Against Humanity. 

Luckily this weekend we have no plans to speak of, which means a family weekend! We also plan to  start up Round 3 of the 21 Day Fix this weekend and if I'm being honest, I'm actually looking forward to it!! In the meantime I am back on My Fitness Pal and I'm also considering pulling back out my Fitbit! 

5 on Friday

Thank goodness it is Friday!! That is about the only good thing to come of the weekend so I hear, because we are about to get nailed again with more bloody snow! I know it's winter and all, but we haven't had this much snow in.... Years! 

So M and I decided we better hit up the hardware store this morning and get whatever supplies left he will need. So be picked out faucets for the shower, bought drywall, flooring underlay, a cool blind cleaner (It was $1) and I hate cleaning blinds, so if this makes my life easier it was a well spent dollar! 

I will be happy when these hardware store trips are done. Oh and maybe the decisions too!! I just have paint to pick now! 

The bathtub came out last night. We found a live electrical box behind the shower... That's safe!! Soo glad we are doing this now!! 

We also stopped at Walmart so I could get my list of postnatal supplies (and maybe some M&M's) so I can get my hospital bag packed! 

I finally got in front of the sewing machine yesterday and made a diaper bag change pad:

On today's agenda... Burp cloths and tank top strap conversion to nursing straps, because I haven't found a nursing tank I love yet. 

This weekends plans are just more organizing in the nursery while M is working in the bathroom all weekend!! 

Ice Ice Baby

I know I started this week of with Snowcember, but now we have an ice storm in the works. Well last night was ice, but now it's rain that will turn to ice pellets again this afternoon oh and ALL weekend. Nice. 

At least it's Friday!! Here is my 5 highlights of the week! 

We are hoping to start the bathroom renovation after Christmas Day next week! We still have no definite plan yet, which scares me, but demolition is half the process right?? 

I got dressed last night for the first time this week!! You can call me a bum! I just wasn't feeling it this week and I had nowhere to go. So I wore lounge clothes mostly and only pajama's one day. 

We went for dinner with friends last night and the waitress brought ALL of our food out at once. No appetizers first, everything. Our table was FULL!! 

 

The Christmas baking is done, aside from the tarts which will happen tomorrow, assuming we make it to the grocery store tonight. 

I am starting my day off dressed today! 

Apparently Instagram cut off my legs, but this is paired up with some grey leggings. 

I am looking forward to celebrating Christmas with my family this weekend!! It will be great to celebrate with both my Mom and Dad, just like old times! Hopefully we will snap a family photo of us all together! The last one we have is from my Dad's retirement:

Frozen Friday

It is finally Friday friends!! It a cold and snowy Friday here and rumour has it we are about to get even more snow this weekend. Looks like it will be a White Christmas!! Only 12 more days until Christmas!!

1. M isn't working this weekend!!! Although he has breakfast with Santa on Saturday at the fire hall to help out with and he is in the Christmas parade here in the village with the fire department!! But we will have lots of time in between to get some wrapping done. Then Sunday we have a family Christmas get together. 

2. Celebrating this final week in the 2nd trimester!! Crazy to think I will be in the 3rd trimester this weekend!! Home stretch here we come!! It has been crazy to look at my calander booking upcoming appointments - They don't seem all that far ahead anymore. 

We also passed the glucose test this week! I was pretty worried about this with the sweet tooth I have acquired (thanks baby). I'm definetly not used to having the sweet tooth, but I guess I'm not as bad as I thought, but we will still moderate the cravings. 

3. Big congrats goes out to my MIL - Happy Retirement and Happy Birthday today!! Celebrating double time today!! I'm glad we had a chance to celebrate last night with her and she was actually surprised, minus the fact that I almost slipped up twice! 

 

4. I'm hoping this weekend I will be able to get some supplies for making the mobile and maybe my fabric for the crib quilt, then I can get my craft on! Are you scared yet? Haha. It's been a while since I have done a true craft. 

I'm also hoping that this stubborn snow dog will start coming inside easier - she loves the snow soo much, she just likes to sit out there and take it all in and get covered in the white stuff! 

All of the this snow came on Wednesday in a 2 hour span. It was coming down hard and fast and little miss couldn't have been happier. This is her sitting there listening to me call her and not moving. 

5. I slept for the first night this week last night! The sleep fairy finally visited! I don't think under my eyes could have got darker prior to this morning. I feel like a new woman today! It wasn't perfect sleep, but oh man it feels good to have some energy again!

High Five Yo!!

Wow Friday has finally come!! I've been saying how fast time has been going, but this week dragged on!!

My week has been pretty boring to say the least, but we made the best of it. 

1) sprung house arrest today. Although it was only for a doctors appointment. 

That aircast weighs 5 pounds! 

2) my doctors appointment went well this morning. Blood pressure is stable and meds are remaining the same! The doctor said this was one way to control it, as I'm essentially on bed rest because of my foot. Huge thanks to my Dad for taking me, even if he used my wheelchair to stop the elevator doors from shutting lol. 

3) the nursery curtains came in the mail yesterday, which meant I got to go up to see the nursery!! We didn't have the proper light bulb, so the lighting was very poor, but I will go up again on the weekend to see how it matches, but I am just loving the way it looks!! Felt great to be up there again! I'm hoping to be able to start working in there next week (foot dependant).

4) loving snuggles with this little guy all week:

He takes bed rest pretty seriously, and reading up on pregnancy not so much. His little paws actually opened my what to expect app. 

He also lives feeling the baby kick:

 M caught him up laying on the nursery rug looking at the crib. He is patiently waiting too. 

5) the weekend is here and although I had to cancel my dinner plans with N & M, we don't have much on the go! Hopefully M will catch some downtime!

Finally Friday

After the flu last week and fleas this week, I'm ready for the weekend! Our house is clean, laundry is piled up though, but we are making progress and I have bedroom curtains again! Bonus! Oh and I didn't awake to snow! It's going to be a good weekend!

1) looking forward to going to a Ladies One Stop Shop tonight with J and then hanging out afterwards with G and the men. It's been forever since we have hung out with friends! Pretty much 2 months!! 

2) turns out our plans to hold off on anymore renovations in the house this year has changed! Our super dated bathroom is on the short list now that the faucet is beyond repair and the tub is leaking! This room is pretty much original from when it was built, so it's necessary. So we are coming up with a plan to go along with our budget. Basically we need a new tub and surround, floors and double sink vanity with storage. As annoyed as I am to have to do this project with a baby on the way, I'm excited to have it done and to know that it's the last big project our house needs! 

3) we are registering this weekend! I'm guessing this is going to be a big job, since M has input on everything, even things I don't care about - he does! It is really cute to think about, I just hope it doesn't take too long! We plan to buy most things in the states and a lot of our big purchases are decided on, like car seat, swing, pack and play, and stroller which we plan to purchase ourselves. But I am looking forward to it all and checking it off the list! 

4) hopefully we will also get the gardens cut back and patio furniture put away weather dependant. I see a lot of rain in our forecast. Which is better than the snow I've been seeing the last couple of days. We also need decide on a furniture paint color, but might just end up buying one if wall colors and get that going. Who knows! 

5) I need to get going on some DIY baby projects too! The crocheted baby blanket is well on its way, but I need to get fabric to start this quilting process. The crunch is on now that we are past the half way point and I feel it!

Happy Friday the 13th!!!!

 

 

Aside from the fact that we just went from 30 degree plus humidex weather to 10 degrees today dropping to 2 with a wind chill of 0 tonight... Maybe we just skipped over my favorite season of fall?

 

1. We have our photoshoot tomorrow!! I am pretty pumped about this! I have nailed down my outfit to the coral lace high-low dress, brown boots and belt with a jean jacket!! Plus my sister gave me a necklace to wear, I just need to make sure it matches!

 

2. We have decided to change our bedroom around sooner than later, due to my frequent bathroom breaks and tripping over the dogs in the bedroom. So I am going to have to bump something off my to-do list... because this is getting done tomorrow. We weren't planning on changing the bedroom around until closer to the baby comes to set up for the bassinet to be in our bedroom. But my bladder wins.

 

3. Shopping in the US this weekend also excites me, as my wardrobe is changing everyday with this baby bump that seems to go up and down in size as of late! Speaking of wardrobe I need to try on my dress for the wedding next weekend. I tried it on a few weeks ago and it went from being big, to having just a little extra room in it, so I am nervous about it is going to fit next weekend!

5. This is not a great thing from this week, maybe the worst thing of the week... while I was away last night taking Hannah to dance class (which oh my goodness - so cute) M decided he would cook hot dogs in the house. Now I may not have mentioned this on the blog before but the smell of hot dogs boiled in the house makes me gag on good day... thank you food poisoning from them as a teenager, I still to this day cannot eat them, no matter how they are cooked. I came home last night and could smell the nauseating smell, he even had our scentsy going to try to mask the smell, but I could only smell these boiled hot dogs - it was soo bad. Pregnancy nose only makes smells stronger. He will not be cooking hot dogs in the house again... maybe on the burner on the BBQ, but not in the house. Lesson learned!
