I have really been lucky this year! I will start this post out on the positive side! My allergies have been pretty calm this spring/summer. However... I have hit the road block! Or should I say nose block!
I guess I have never really went into my allergies before... but I am allergic to EVERYTHING outside, along with dust and mold.
The dust and mold was encountered while moving my mom out of her house, and that is what started all of this so it seems! I don't think I have slept in over 2 weeks properly! Oh how I miss sleep! I am like a walking zombi, that cannot breathe! The humidity is supposed to break this weekend, so here is to hoping things clear up for me! We had plans to head down to the lake for the weekend, but if I don't feel any better, then it will be a no-go! Here is hoping that I get better!
On a side note... next summer is going to be a BIG wedding season!! Matt & Jenn will be at the end of July and Mike is in the wedding party and Nicole and Mike will be August 13/11 and I am in the wedding party, and my cousin just got engaged and they are thinking a July wedding as well! Geez! Looks like next summer will be a write off too!
1 more month and we are moving Mom into her appartment and we might get possession of our hobby shop back!
Oh and I don't know if I mentioned before, but Lily was diagnosed with hypothyroid :( Lucky for us, it is the best disease for a dog to get, because it is affordable and easy to treat... the downside being if is something she will have forever :(. We have started her on Thyro and she is doing great now! She has sooo much more energy and her hair is starting to shine again! She had gained 10 pounds in a year, which Lily is a big dog to begin with and she should on average be about 85 pounds to 90 pounds... she weighed in at 104 pounds! Crazy! But that should all disappear within 6 months or so if we keep her going on our active lifestyle!

3 Boxes Later!
So.... I must say brunettes really do have more fun!! I got this crazy idea to dye my hair blonde.... and being frugal, I thought it would be a good idea to buy box color, instead of paying for it at a salon....BAD IDEA... Although still cheaper!~
Mike was my hairdresser (lucky him)! I got into my towel and clothespin (real classy) and let him dye my hair! The first box had 2 colors in it (so I thought), so we put the first color on and it went almost like a strawberry blonde, but more coppery color and I was not fussy on it! But, Mike convinced me to do the next color, so I did, but I was really hesitant, especially since we had company coming over later.
Well it turned out that the second color was not a color at all!! It was bleach and it was stripping my hair of all color! Mike managed to get all my roots done plus some, until I noticed what was happening and I freaked out! I was sure that I was not meant to be a blonde and hopped in the shower right away! It was too late! I was washing out this concoction and yelling at Mike to go into town and get me hair color... BROWN hair color! I was not laughing... was freaking out... and well I was mortified! I looked like a glow in the dark troll! I made fun of people with this hair color!
I ended up delaying our company, had Mike color my hair AGAIN (2nd box) and was then a little more confident in the new color, although it was still reddish/orangish brown... but it was better than it was! Our company came over, and laughs were had!
Did I mention that was the Friday of the long weekend....
Saturday I took Hannah and Amy to African Lion Safari for the day, and Sunday and Monday, we spent down at the lake, Sunday at Nicole's cottage in Port Burwell and Monday at the boat! Where it was sunny... and I didnt where a hat and the sun lightened my roots a little more and the color was not so nice. So today being Wednesday... before baseball... I am box #3 and I have high hopes! I bought dark brown... with NO RED~!
Also I will note that friends of ours Jeff and Sarah had thier baby on Monday! Baby Girl - 7lbs 11 oz - Natalie Claire!! Mike has been best friends with Jeff forever, infact they were each others best man at both our weddings!
Sorry to have not blogged for a month... life has been busy and I have been meaning to, but just hadn't found time!
During the last month, I had a few hard days, Diamond's Birthday (although she is passed away), the day we put Dimey down was especially hard... I spoke a lot of her memories this past month, not really realizing it, but come to think of it later. I really do miss her!
Oh PS.. just rinsed Box 3 and it appears to be a hit!!
My mom potentially sold her house FINALLY! 2 years later.... just pending on financing and a house inspection! Which means August just got busier!!
I am taking Mike on a suprise trip this weekend!! He has ne clue where we are going!! He took me last year to Niagra Falls, where I had never been!
More to come later!!

Canadian/Innerkip Festivities!
What a great weekend! I was done work on Wednesday, managing to have a 4 day weekend! The village that we live in has a big Lions weekend, which happened to fall on the long weekend!
Thursday we worked on the patio and then went to my sisters place to celebrate my Mom's birthday (which was Canada Day too).
Dad, Randy and the dog moved back to thier place, so we are house-guest-free!
Friday we headed down to the lake (Turkey Point) and checked out the in-law's new SHIP! I call it a ship, because it is HUGE!! 37 feet! It is great and they really deserve it! So we spent the day out at Pottahawk, had dinner at the dock and then came home. Then we went down to the "family dance" and mingled for a bit!
Saturday was the parade, my Mom, Sister, Eric and Hannah came down! It was Hannah's first parade and she seemed to love it, or at least parts of it! With Mike being a volunteer firefighter in the village, he was actually in the parade. The parade was on our street for the first time, and it was kinda nice being able to sit on our front lawn and porch! We went down to the park afterwards for some lunch and got Hannah a balloon and they headed out. I stayed at the park with the dogs and went and met up with Mike, who was running the Fire Muster, which is an activity for the kids to play with hoses and fire trucks and do a course they set up! It was great seeing Mike playing with the kids! He just loves doing it and seeing the smiles on all thier faces! We headed home and my aunt called and asked us to come up to the cottage, we hummed and hawed, and decided to go for it ( it was 3:00 and an hour away (to Grand Bend)). We sat in the sun, and Mike was playing on the seadoo, had dinner and went back down to the beach for some fireworks! What a great show up there! They were all over! We were tempted to stay over, but Mike had the Fireman's breakfast to help with on Sunday morning (early), so we came home and were in bed just after 12:30. Then Mike was back up at 1:30 for a medical call!
Today was the breakfast, we ran into town for groceries and then had ice cream and gave the dogs a bath.We are heading to the park to watch a ball game and fireworks!
Back to work tomorrow, and hubby is off for the week! I probably won't be getting any holidays for the summer, which is fine, we didn't have any big plans!

Busy Around the Yard
So, my new patio is well on its way! I have a giant sandbox right now, but Dad, Randy and Mike have been working hard everynight!
My Dad and Randy have been staying with us for a few weeks now, and boy alot of work has been done around here! The patio prep, my dresser was painted, the clothesline (which we had before, and then Mike broke it with the tractor), swinging gates, laundry, housework and well the dogs are pretty content. However, thanks to my Dad's dog.... as previously mentioned.. my garden has been destroyed! However, that will be a project for another day, because my yard is all torn up anyways!
I just found out I have a nice LONG weekend for Canada Day! Pretty pumped about that! The village that I live in does put on a good Canada weekend, and I hate to be away for it, and luckily we won't be! We havent quite buckled down our plans yet, but with Mike being a firefighter in the community, he has a few obligations! The parade is even going down our street this year, which will be exciting!
I LOVE SUMMER!
I know I keep saying I will post pictures and surely I will, once I find them all on CD! Bare with me!

A Week of Pain...
What a week!! I have had nothing but bad luck I tell ya!
It all started on Monday, when I was sitting on the couch watching t.v. (seems pretty harmless) and my poor kitties were just checking out thier cat post (which is floor to ceiling in our great room) and my Dad's dog (a little JUG - jack russel and pug cross) thought it would be a great idea to run at them, which scared the **** out of them! I swear they went 8 different directions between the two of them! However... Binx ran across the back of the couch, which included my face and to be in more detail... my eyes and chest. I am also pretty sure she ran across the wall after that.... it was rather funny... I can say that now, as I am slowly getting over this, and bigger injuries came my way! I lucked out with just pain below my eyes, with no bruising and scratched on my chest (not severe).
Wednesday was ball night! We play on a rec league for co-ed lob ball (just for fun). In the 4 years I have played I have lucked out with barely any injuries, at least none severe. I was running to first and short stop whipped the ball into first, and threw off, hitting me in the head dead on above the ear. Well... I am not one for headaches and barely EVER get one... but BOY did this hurt, but I did get a courtesy runner from that point on, and she made it home, as the only run for that game! Little did I know what I was in for with getting hit in the head, or that it would simply lead to my next injury!
I usually sleep on my left side, and now with this massive goose-egg on my head, it was not very comfortable and led to a horrible nights sleep of tossing and turning. I remember rolling onto that side of my head and turning quickly, which caused some back pain then, but ignored it because my headache won on the pain scale. Thursday morning wasn't bad, I was a little stiff, but once I got to the afternon, I felt like a 90-year-old lady with sever arthritis and a headache! I had soo much work to accomplish at home, having a ball party planned at our house on the weekend. The work got done tho, with some Advil and frequent breaks!
I was really looking forward to Friday tho, I had a very much needed manicure booked! Well... I went to a new girl and she filed the **** out of my cuticles and now I have cuts on almost every nail! AND she didn't even shape my nails! Not Impressed! My back was touch and go, along my headache. I played ball Friday and swinging the bat really felt good, although I am not too sure that it was actually good. Before bed, while I was getting into my pjs, I noticed that my belly button was no longed in line with my chest! My back was twisted! This explained a lot, regarding my pain and my head was no longer the highest on the pain scale. I had a horrible nights sleep and woke up on Saturday in agony! I only batted at baseball, as I still found relief in that, but kepy score the rest of the game! We won 2/3 games and were done!
Whatta week! My back is feeling a little better with help from the hot tub of course.
On a sidenote, we did have an earthquake this week (on Wednesday), but I did not feel it, but ALOT of people did!
