Things on Thursday

So my Wednesday didn't quite go as planned yesterday.

My new stove was delivered:

She is very pretty! Haven't tried it out yet, but maybe today for lunch!

But the fridge on the other hand has not made it home yet. You can bet I was less than impressed. They only deliver to our area once a week, but after becoming that crazy pregnant lady, I've got it coming on Friday apparently and I have got my delivery fee being returned to me. I would have been more understanding if they had given me a better reason than the guys refused to load it on the tuck in the morning. Great... Thank you. Didn't help that the guy I was dealing with was a jerk to me, which made my polite self turn into the crazy prego! It better be here on Friday!!

Last night we decided to goto Lowes which is about 30 minutes away. We had never been, but wanted to see their selection of tile and flooring, as well as bath tubs. Their tub selection was no good. But we did luck out with buying tile and finding flooring we liked. We would have bought the flooring, but they were out of stock!

Here is what we found:

Excuse the crappy store lighting. I'm in love with the tile. It is a little more beige than the grey I was going for, but I was open to either grey or beige. But I do love it, especially with the driftwood flooring. The vanity will most likely be white. Now we just need to pick out some paint colors, which maybe tonight we will trek into town to Home Depot since we have to return the railing that doesn't fit.

We have our prenatal class on Saturday. We opted for the one day course instead of a few evening courses. Hopefully when it is finished I will have enough energy to go back to Rona and buy a bath tub there, since we liked theirs best! I will be happy to not have to visit a hardware store for a long time after this, as well as have my bathroom looking all pretty and proper!

Today marks 2 months until our due date!! Less than 60 days to go!!

Today I am working hard on getting stuff done around the house, maybe a few sewing projects, along with some organizing. I did start off with tackling a project I have always been meaning to do of or a few years:

This didn't quite go the way I planned and I have yet to get some embellishments! I will post a tutorial once it is done. Consider this a sneak peak!

Aside from the fridge coming tomorrow, which I will have to have M's Mom come over and wait for it because I have my OB appointment in the morning. I think I will stop at Motherhood Maternity or maybe the mall and see if I can find something to wear to my shower. I have no clue what to wear, I don't want to wear jeans, but was considering leggings and maybe a tunic, but even my tunics are getting shorter and shorter now a days. So we will have to see what I can find, but it will be a quick trip!

Happy Thursday Friends!!

Midweek Rewind

I would start off by complaining about the weather, but I think everyone is at this point in the game. I will say that I experienced the coldest I have been in, or at least recall experiencing.

They say temps haven't been this low since 1977, well that is before my time! A lot of the roads are closed as we have 10 foot snow drifts on a lot of roads about 20 minutes away! Mother Nature must be drunk! She should be sobering up by the end of the week!

Today our new fridge and stove are being delivered!!

Last night we had someone come over to look at tiling our bathroom and we are going forward with it, so we are heading out tonight to try to pick out tile, flooring and a bath tub and hopefully M can start that on Sunday while I am at my baby shower.

Monday was low key, I refuse to leave the house in this weather. Just worked on crocheting the baby blanket - I'm 3/4's done. But I'm anxious to start a few other projects, as this one I can do while watching TV.

Sunday started off with a waffle breakfast in our new wafflemaker we got for Christmas! It can make 2 at once!!

Delicious!!

Then M got started on some DIY projects. This one has been on my honey do list for a few years now.

A console table/drink rail for behind the couch. Now we will have a safe place to put our drinks! More pics to come on the finished product as he stained it and everything!!

Sunday we were dumped on with snow!! The dogs were loving it!! Little miss Lily thought I was calling her in, when really I just wanted to take her picture, so here you have her "but Mom I don't want to come in yet look"

Saturday we had a few guys come over and move our fridge downstairs. What a pain it has been operating with a fridge downstairs and the kitchen upstairs. Luckily that comes to an end today! I think both M and I have gotten a good stair work out as you seem to forget something you need when preparing a meal!

Then in the afternoon we ran into Home Depot to grab some supplies for various projects, including a railing for the stairs going up to the nursery, although it ended up too short. They only had 10 foot ones in the store, so we assumed it would work, but we need a 12 foot, which hopefully we will find tonight at Lowes.

We changed the bedroom around as well on Saturday. It is back the way it used to be and of course the first night it's changed guess who had to get up 3 times for the first time in the middle of the night?? Oh ya that was me! But I didn't trip on the dogs, so we have progress in that department!! The bassinet is also in our room now, we figured we should introduce it now and let everyone get used to it and so far no one seems to care! But we also don't have bedding in it yet, so there is nothing drawing the cats to it yet!

Friday I hit up a local fabric store to try to find material for quilting and came up empty handed. To the point I have decided to just make a duvet cover for the various crib comforter M and I had a children. Them we can at least use them! But I still didn't find fabric!! I have an idea in my mind, just haven't found it! I did find these fabrics though:

Not sure what I am going to make with it yet, but it was too cute to leave in the store!! I need to get cracking on the sewing projects!!

That was one heck of a rewind, hard to believe it's Wednesday already!

Happy Wednesday friends!!

30 weeks

How Far Along:
30 weeks - December 29, 2013 - January 4, 2014

Size Of Baby?
or a large cabbage since I find it hard to believe there is a 3.8 pound cucumber growing inside of me.

Baby's skin is now getting smoother. Baby is now capable of grasping a finger.
10 more weeks to go, last week with a double digit on the count down!!

Maternity Clothes?
Yes, and M's t-shirts for bed, although even these are getting smaller. He doesn't even put up a fight for giving me them to sleep in anymore, I think he feels bad for me - he's even giving up the soft ones!

Crazy to look back and see how different this maternity shirt fits now:

I can't believe I was ever that small! What a difference time makes!!

Stretch Marks?
Still just a small one, but nothing really noticeable.

Gender?
Team Green!

What the Doctor Had To Say:
My family doctor called with the results of my x-ray. I still have a tip fracture, but she gave me the okay to take off the aircast! I need take things slow and be very careful, but I am able to walk without the cast on and yes, it is a bit tender, but feels great to be able to walk on my own again without it! I just have to watch for swelling.

Sleep?
My ankle has been waking me up without the cast, just an adjustment to being cast-free. It has been super cold here this week too, which has only made the house dryer!! But my bladder hasn't been waking me regularly!

Baby Purchases This Week:
 Some wall shelves.

Some supplies for a few DIY projects we have on the go!

Made this Week:
Crocheted away

Cravings/Aversions?
Well since I couldn't celebrate New Years with champagne! I had the next best thing, raspberry gingerale and it matched the pink champagne everyone else had!

Chocolate pudding is still good, but not the best thing anymore!

Movement?
Baby seems to flip sides back and forth, but the kicks aren't low, so I'm guessing s/he isn't breech anymore.
Baby enjoys kicking M's ear when he puts his head on my belly.
Baby seems to be getting the hiccups more often!!

Feeling?
Not sure if I am coming down with a cold or not? My voice seems to come and go, but my throat doesn't hurt and I have no cough. Nose is still runny. Could maybe just be the dryness - started after the hospital made me wear a mask because I didn't get a flu shot at my last doctors appointment.

I have found myself more on edge this week, easily annoyed, which is not a great feeling and very hard to snap out of it.

Other than that I feel great! I am loving being pregnant! I have napped a few times this week.

Highlights:
Being cast-free! Gaining my independence back and being able to leave the house on my own again!!

Getting the house organized. A lot of big changes coming to our household! Furniture is moving around, including our bedroom is switched back, I know the layout we had was more convienent for bathroom breaks in the middle of the night, but I hated it, so we are moved it back with a new plan for where the bassinet will go - which is now in our room!! Our entertainment unit has left the great room! It was just too big and with baby stuff coming in, we need the extra room and what a difference it has made! Soo much more room and soo much brighter! Great choice!! Our fridge and stove will be replaced next week, so the old fridge moved downstairs.

M has given me the go ahead for nesting haha.

So with that being said, we hit up the spare bedroom and now have floor space to move around on! Most of the baby stuff is now out of that room, aside from some baby toys on the bed and the boy bin and girl bin which will stay in there until the baby is here. But I might tackle making the bed in there at least.

Belly Button?
In, but it is getting flatter and flatter.

Wedding Rings?
On

Best Moment of the Week?
Bringing in the new year!! Welcoming the year we meet our miracle in just a few short months!

Crazy Pregnancy Moment:
This week has been pretty good, with very little craziness going on. I think the biggest thing I'm going crazy about is remembering to take it easy and slow down with my ankle. Now that the cast is off, I just want to be able to walk like normal and that is not the case! It is getting stronger and stronger each day, but I don't want to rush the recovery and set myself back. January is soo very busy.

Bump Pic:

And a quick look back:

 20 weeks

10 weeks:
Can I get my tan back please?

Looking Forward To:
My baby shower next weekend that my sister and mom are throwing for me!!

Easy Canvas Prints Review

Just before Christmas I was offered an opportunity to review an 8x10 canvas from Easy Canvas Prints. I have never ordered a canvas before, but using this company made it nothing but simple to do!!

First I had to pick a picture, as I knew exactly where it would be going - the nursery. So I figured I would do one of M and I's announcement pics. Like I mentioned above the site was very simple to use, just a few clicks once I uploaded the image and my canvas was ordered.

To make matters better it shipped super fast (faster than what they initially quoted me) and shipping was cheap for us fellow Canadians! I guess if you live in the states they offer free shipping promos!

I couldn't be happier with the results:

The colors were perfect

Quality was great!

Pictures of the canvas do not even do it justice in all honesty.

M even recommended getting another one done once the baby has arrived.

It will sit perfectly on one of the shelves in the nursery!

Easy Canvas Prints has offered a 50% off promo coupon for my readers, just follow THIS link. The have all sorts of sizes available, as well as finishes.

I will definitely use Easy Canvas Prints again for my canvas needs!!

Holidays 2013 Recap

Can you believe we are in 2014 already? Christmas went by just as fast as I thought it would, but it was great!!

On the 22nd we celebrated Christmas with my family. We had a nice dinner, spent time together, opened gifts - it was great having the whole day to spend together.

My sister got me a new personalized camera bag and my Mom gave me nursing pj's that came with the cutest sleeper for the baby to match! M got some stuff for his Xbox.

Christmas Eve was perfect, nice and quiet, we had dinner and then headed to the 7:00 mass with M's parents. The church wasn't too busy, they included all the kids throughout the service and brought in Santa at the end, although explaining the true meaning behind Christmas. The priest actually used the Charlie Brown Christmas story as his sermon. They also provided a candlelit portion at the end. After mass, M and I headed home, took our annual Christmas Eve photo, relaxed for a bit and headed to bed.

Christmas morning the dogs woke us at 6!! They were just beside themselves as we had taken all the gifts over to the farm the day before and I think they seriously thought we cancelled Christmas. They both had angry faces and pouts on Christmas Eve. After letting them outside and back in, M and I managed to back to sleep and when we woke at 8 we found them sitting and staring at the bed with their ears perked. How do they seriously know?? Lol. So we got dressed, packed up the truck and drove to the farm. We saw coyotes up by the house when we arrived, so the dogs didn't quite get the freedom they expected on Christmas or from here on in for the time being.

We opened our stockings first and one or two presents and then took a break for waffles for breakfast. Yum! We surprised M with his xbox one - I had been telling him I couldn't get it, so therefore had to buy more presents for him to keep up my lie! I made this shirt for him:

When I say I made it, vista print "made" it, but the cartoon you see, was drawn by me - not exactly something I'm great at. But the humor behind the shirt was priceless and it does say mission accomplished. M loves it, just as I expected he would!

"The baby" was busy shopping this season too, s/he got me a picture locket. M got me the flash for my camera, and a pandora bracelet with 3 charms. I did end up getting the curling iron I wanted from M's parents and it is amazing! Curls my hair in 10 minutes!

Baby V was spoiled this Christmas as well, as you can see from this weeks bump date (posted on Monday).

I think one of my favorite gifts was the ornament my Dad made this year:

Such an amazing keep sake and soo very true! Feeling Baby V kicking up a storm throughout the holidays really was the best gift ever!! We took our annual family photo:

We had dinner at the farm, which my Dad came out to as well, we all sat around and socialized and headed home around 8. I was beat!

Boxing Day M and I did a little shopping, if you can call it little! We bought a brand new fridge and stove which will be delivered next week, a rug for the nursery and the rocker/recliner for the nursery. Luckily we only have a few more big baby items to buy, like the stroller, the baby monitor and pack and play and we are set.

On the Friday, we had a Christmas celebration in the evening with my Dad's side of the family, but we had my x-ray and doctors appointment to attend first. It was great seeing almost everyone, except my sister ended up missing out because she had to take Brandon to the hospital, where they actually admitted him and tested him for meningitis. They ended up staying in the hospital for the weekend and luckily the test came back negative, but he does have a virus, pneumonia and a double ear infection. Poor little guy.

Saturday we had my Mom's side of the family's Christmas get together! It was also great to catch up with all my cousins.

We also found out that M's Aunt Barbara passed away at home the day before. She was actually M's godmother. We were sad to hear the news, but relieved that she is in a better place now. She hasn't been well for a few years now.

Sunday we made a quick trip to Cambridge to resize my bracelet, grabbed some shelves for the nursery, headed home and then over to N & K's for little holiday gathering with other couples from the village. It was great catching up with everyone, since we hadn't gotten together in what seemed to be forever.

Monday the doctors office called and gave me clearance to take off my air cast and introduce walking slowly without it. So far I can say I have my good days and bad days, but I'm making progress!! I still have a tip fracture, but they don't seem too concerned about it.

I also took my car in to get new tires since M threatened I couldn't drive my car with the baby in it with those tires, so he made the appointment. It was my first official outting by myself since fracturing my ankle! Felt great to get some independence back!

Finally New Years Eve, we decided pretty last minute to have dinner with M & J. We had a great steak dinner, I can honestly say everything we ate was delicious. I couldn't believe we took almost 2 hours to eat, but with that being said I enjoyed every part of it! We rang in the new year and headed home shortly after, which is just what I prefer to do!

During the day we de-Christmas'd the house and took down our BIG entertainment unit and brought in a storage cube holder for the TV to sit on and boy do I love the new arrangement!! The great room looks soo spacious now, just in time for baby stuff to start taking over in a few months. K and S stopped in for a quick impromptu visit, which was great because we hadn't found a chance to get together in a while.

We got a call in the evening that my Dad had been in an accident and ended up writing off his truck. My sister went to the scene and then followed him to the hospital. He ended up being okay thank God, just sore, as all his air bags deployed. The weather was horrible and at blame. He had his dog with him too, who is also okay, as was the other family from the other car. Can everyone I know please live in a bubble? I just hate hearing bad news and feeling soo helpless.

Well if you survived to the end of this long post, good job! I think we will start next week off with a review!! Stay tuned!!

Happy Weekend friends!!
