First Trimester Must Haves

First Trimester Must Haves

Bare with me, as this my friends is my first attempt at a mood board! I used Polyvore, and I haven't figured out how to add numbers, or even the real items from where I actually bought the stuff.

1) Jolly Jumper Pregnancy Pillow - this wedge was a sleep saver, literally. There were a few weeks towards the end of my first trimester, where my belly was growing and this wedge actually allowed me to sleep comfortably.

2) Skittles - lived on these unfortunately, but it made nausea go away for me, and gave me a slight sugar boost when I was feeling like it was low. Tic Tacs were another great source to ward off nausea, especially in the car is when I used them most.

3) Belly Band - I only bought one in black and it helped me survive the awkward "my pants don't fit right stage". Because I had lost a lot of weight before getting pregnant, I had options that were too big, in addition to the new size I had just bought that was starting to fit too snug. I used the belly band for both, my buttons undone on the snug items and done up, using the belly band to hold them in place. I didn't buy the "name brand", just the one from Walmart for like $12!

4) Contigo Water Bottle - I couldn't drink enough water, everywhere I went, my water bottle went too! I actually have about 8 of these bottles. One lives on my nightstand regularly, but I ended up using 2! Every time I left the house, even to get groceries, one was tagging along! I didn't take them when walking the dogs, because I didn't have the extra hand, but was dying of thirst by the time I got home!

5) Palmers Coconut Butter - no one wants stretch marks, and if I am being honest, I didn't apply everyday, just as I remembered. You are tired in your first trimester and I would want to apply after every shower, but showering kicked my ass, I noticed the same thing when on Progestrone for IVF. I don't know if it's the temp change or what, but clearly my progesterone in my body occurring naturally now has the same effect. Getting ready after a shower was a long process as I would need to rest often - the lightheaded feeling is the worst!  So I would try to apply before bed.

6) Old Navy Sports Bras - there is no doubt that "the girls" grow during pregnancy, to the point that my regular bras became quite uncomfortable! Once again with the weight loss, the new bras were too small, and the old ones too big. But these sports bras were stretchy enough, yet supportive enough to accommodate. I would also wear tanks with built in bras if I was just chilling around the house.

Those a few items that have stuck out in my head as must haves! But with that being said, my first trimester was pretty easy in the sense that the nausea was in short bursts and luckily not very often. I was tired and couldn't get enough sleep or so it felt. Headaches were here and there, but I would be able to survive them with out medication. As far as symptoms go, that was about it, I think that is why I was able to get by with soo little!

October To-Do Check Up/ November To-Do

Before we get to lists, note that I am combining the two posts today because as I mentioned November is pretty much a write off as far as getting much done, so I'm trying to remain realistic with what we can accomplish. M is in fire training for the first two weekends, so it will be hard to accomplish  much at those times, which leaves us 2 weekends, but not whole weekends because busy season is on with the buisness - which means they start working Saturdays!

Also don't miss out on my give away!! Your winning chances double because she is almost at 100 likes, which means she is doing a GIVE AWAY on top of mine!!

October To-Do List

- set up bed in sewing room - done
- pick Grey paint color - done! Nursery colors are officially picked!
- clean hot tub - done

- bring up bassinet bedding - although I only ended up finding one part of it and need to buy the rest!
- make back basement cat ready

- start crocheting baby blanket - started!!

Some extras we did get done:

21 Weeks

How Far Along:
21 weeks - October 27 - Nov. 2, 2013

Size Of Baby?

Crazy to think baby is bigger than my foot now! No wonder I've lost them!

Maternity Clothes?
PJ shirts are getting shorter and M is often finding me in bed out cold with my shirt up to my ribs and my belly popping out. I don't want to stretch M's t-shirts out, but I have started wearing his to bed until they start to get small!

Stretch Marks?
None yet.

Gender?
We will find out in March! No slip ups from our doctor because he doesn't know either!!

Sleep?
Much better! Had a few restless nights, but for no apparent reason.

Baby Purchases This Week:
2 swaddle sacks
1 owl sleeper (new)
a play mat for the baby
another sleeper (used)
polka dot crib sheet

Cravings/Aversions?
Donuts!! Yum!! Loving them! Still no eggs. I also had pasta this week and was able to eat it again!

Movement?
Yes, yes, yes and I am loving every time it happens. Just as I loved hearing the heart beat every time at home, and how it would make me smile, now I smile every time I feel this sweet babe! Poor M hasn't felt the baby again since he first felt it! The baby kicks up a storm until M puts his hand on my belly and the baby stops, then starts back up as soon as M lifts his hand!

Feeling?
Great!! No real complaints!

Highlights:
- Our doctors appointment!!

-Finally gaining weight!!

Celebrating Halloween with Baby V's pumpkin:

Belly Button?
In

Weight Gain:
9 pounds!!! Back on track!!

Best Moment of the Week?
Hearing all about the baby's ultrasound!! Baby V is measuring ahead as well, soo exciting, although our date isn't changing. Baby V is growing away perfectly inside of me and it was great to hear a good report!! Baby's heart rate was 160 at our doctors appointment!

Crazy Pregnancy Moment:
Dressing up the bump for a Halloween party! M and I usually do couples outfits, so this year we had a little fun with it:

Bump Pic:

Looking Forward To:
Enjoying each week as they come. I've heard a lot of devastating news this week with other people's pregnancies and it just reminds me how truly blessed I am for everything to be going smoothly. My heart breaks as I read updates on their blogs, especially from those who have been on a similar long journey as M and I, when you want everything to go just right, just for once for these people. My thoughts and prayers go out to them. Despite not even "knowing" them, my heart mourns for them! I will not take one thing for granted with my own pregnancy, each day is a blessing.

Weekend Rewind

Weekend One down without M around - one more to go! But we made the best of the weekend with the time we did have together!!

Friday night we had a Halloween Party to go to, M and I usually go with a couples costume and this year was no different! I have waited 4 years to dress up a pregnant belly!! A milestone we completed this weekend!

M was a chef and I was the oven

and Baby V was a BUN!

Although we weren't able to stay late, we were happy to be able to partake in the event!

M was up super early on Saturday and off to his fire training!

It was a cold, rainy and windy day. Not as windy as it was on Friday - that wind snapped my ornamental tree in my front garden! I am actually upset about this!

Back to Saturday - I luckily got dressed in the morning instead of staying in my jammies, because M's friend J stopped over with their dog and wanted M to go on walk with him. So I decided to go in his place, despite the dreary weather, I knew the dogs would love it! Luckily the rain held off while we were out! We had a nice visit. I was less than impressed when we arrived back at home to find Gracie in a damn mud puddle. What is with this dog and mud!?

I edited some photos, showered and got ready to go to little K's 2nd birthday! When M got home, he changed and we headed over right away as it was pretty much 6:30. We stayed and visited while she was opening presents and then headed out for dinner with M & J, just to the pub here in town, as they had not eaten either.

Sunday M was gone again super early. Of course the clocks all turned back, which took some adjustment, but I still managed to get a lot done around the house.

I finally finished the laundry and we no longer have a contamination room!! We have a laundry room again!!

The pets were reunited with their toys, Lily was happy to have her favorite toy back:

I popped into town to meet my sister to grab the fabric she had picked up from the post office in the US for me!

Then I finished editing a photo session, which I am always happy to have completed.

Dinner was on and when M got home, we took the dogs for a chilly walk while supper finished cooking. We managed to relax the rest of the evening.

Today I plan to make an infinity nursing scarf, now that my fabric is in:

And then I have a photo shoot this afternoon!

Remember to enter into my give away! You don't want to miss out!
Go HERE and enter! Please!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!
