Weekend Rewind

Brrrr, a chilly weekend around these parts this weekend!!!

Our weekend was pretty straight forward.

M had ball Friday night, while I stayed home and chilled with Emilya, who stayed up until 10:30!!! Noah was in bed.

Saturday M was working, Noah slept in until 7:15 and Emilya got up at 8:30. We ended up tidying the house - yay for this mama vacuuming again! I can't even begin to tell you all how much I missed this!!! It's my thing - I do it daily and it makes me happy!! I invited my girlfriend S over with her 2 kiddos to play and Noah had a blast! It was just the distraction he needed because he is soo grumpy when M works on Saturdays, knowing weekends are his time with Daddy, especially during the spring rush when he doesn't see M enough.

Mike got home around 1:30, just in time to help get the kids to bed for nap! Noah went down pretty easily, but Emilya has been a stinker to get to sleep the last few days! So by the time I got her down, I managed to get some laundry done, but decided to relax for a bit before they get up!

M's aunt stopped over to drop off an essential oils information book! Then the boys worked in the basement (once Noah woke up) and built the tv entertainment unit!

They headed out to pick up something I found on kijiji and picked up pizza for dinner too! After dinner e played and managed to get some laundry put away! I actually gained floor space in my laundry room- mommy win!!

M and I watched the Jays game while hanging out with Emilya, who was wide awake again!!

However, it ended up paying off!! She stayed up until 10:30 and then slept all the way till 5:20 AM!! I woke up at 4 to pump! Heck, even Noah slept in, as well as myself!

We headed to London to help my Mom with a few things at her apartment and then we headed to Costco! Noah napped for 20 minutes in the car, so you can imagine how the rest of our day went down... Not very well!! There was a lot of tantrums and acting out! Emilya also didn't really nap, aside from while at Costco and in the truck - so she was also grumpy!

So after we attempted to get to Noah to nap and failed, we went outside to collect the spring clean up garbage while the ribs cooked away in the oven. We enjoyed dinner and then it was bedtime!

I will say I was a proud Mama when I asked Noah what his favorite part of his day was and he replied with "helping grandma". He is just the sweetest!

Let's just say today we will be hanging out around the house. Noah woke up kind of grumpy this morning, so it should make for an interesting day!

We did manage to accomplish at least a few things this weekend, but our main focus for next weekend will be getting our storage bin emptied, as time is running out and we didn't get to it this weekend like we had planned.

Friday Things

Wow, I can't believe it is Friday already! This week went by so fast and we didn't even really do much.

Monday - we went to play group
Tuesday - we went for a nice long walk
Wednesday - we went to the library play group
Thursday - we played outside and enjoyed the nice weather

Today Noah is going to run errands with Grandma and I am going to run my errands with Emilya. I'm not quite ready for lifting Noah into the grocery carts yet and typically he hangs out with Grandma when I do my groceries, but he has missed going shopping lately, so Grandma has been taking him out with her and he has been really good when they do it!

It should be an interesting day because we let Noah stay up late last night playing outside and the. He didn't end up falling asleep until at least 9:30 playing in his bed.

And since this post didn't get done before we left, I can report Noah was great for Grandma! Emilya let me have a shower before we left to run our errands! We ended up meeting at Walmart and had McDonald's for a little lunch date! I brought Noah home with me and we made a special surprise stop at the park, where the school was having a fun fair! Noah loved the bouncy castle!!

He absolutely LOVED it!! And now it is naptime and once I get the baby to sleep I will be napping too - once I get the groceries put away!!

This weekend M is working Saturday, but we will hopefully get some stuff done in the basement  afterwards because we are running out of time with the big bin in our driveway - I believe we have until the end of this month. Crazy I remember thinking there was no way we would need it for 2 months and granted our space was fixed right away, we have been going through each and every box and purging as we go!

Sunday we are heading to London to help my Mom out with a few things and hitting up Costco on the way home. We plan to be home for naptime. Hopefully that will give us the afternoon to get more unpacking done!

And to finish this blog up- look at how much these two look alike:

I often see glimpses, but looking at their features, they really do look alike and this is them both at the same age! Granted Emilya has more than a pound on Noah at this age haha.

Noah Says - 26/27 months old

I have been meaning to start one of these posts for a while but then I forget some of the funny things he says, so I will start compiling a list.

- when we had workers at the house, Noah would yell down to Frank: "Frank you wanna coffee?? Frank, Frank, you wanna coff?". When they were finished the basement, Noah clearly missed Frank and would look for him in the funniest places, like opening the toilet lid and saying "Frank, where are you?"

- when playing with his race cars, he will run after them and say "I got ya"

- when he says thank you he will quickly follow it up with your welcome before you can even say it

- when you ask him how he is he will reply "I'm fine, how are you?" If he hurts himself and you ask him, he will reply "I'm fine, I'm okay". We recently bathed Jazz and she howled the whole time and his response was "Jazz you are fine, you are okay." - clearly he hears me say that to Emilya when she is fussing.

- he can now say "that's rediculous" and then follows it up with laughter

- "Mommy what you doin?"

- "all gone, all all gone momma"

- "hungry hungry hippo" in song when referring to his sister... Hopefully he outgrows that by the time she is of age to know she is being referred to a hippo! Lol.

- "oh app" - he heard Daddy say "oh crap" and this is now his version of it. It could be worse right??

- "I'm funny Mommy"

- "hi" are constants, especially if he knows you are annoyed with him, he will get in your face, tilt his head back and forth saying "hi" in the sweetest voice! You really can't stay mad at him!

- "treat" while saying it in the sweetest voice, using the head tilt back and forth again.

- "papa's shhh" which really means he wants one of Grandpas treats, and they are a secret, hence the shh.

- fox is fuc kkkk, he really pronounces the k... We are working on the x sound! Binx is Bink and Lux is Luck

Emilya's Newborn Photos - Part 1

I am completely in love with the newborn photos we had taken of Emilya. We decided to buy a package for Emilya's first year, which included our maternity shoot, newborn photos and we will have 6 month and 1 year photos taken as well. With Noah, I did his newborn photos and I was really happy with how they turned out, but with Emilya, I knew I wouldn't have the time to put in the same effort, so we went a great photographer in the area and we are really happy with how they have turned out! I am going to break this shoot into 3 posts, 2 posts will be of her newborn photos and 1 post will be the family portion. I cannot wait to get printing!!

Stay tuned for Part 2!

Mother's Day Weekend

Well another good weekend is under wraps.

Friday night, M had his first ball game of the season. I stayed home with the kids. I figure we will attempt to goto home games and see how that goes. That way I can leave if things start to get a little hairy with the kids.

Saturday was a productive day!! M's Mom offered to take Noah to shopping again, which gave me an hour to enjoy some one on one time with Emilya until she fell asleep, to shower, get laundry on, cook some chicken strips, put away a basket of laundry, a little sewing project finished and empty and load the dishwasher!

Turns out he was an excellent little shopper and really enjoyed his time with Grandma!

My Mom came over around noon to see the kids. Noah was soo excited to see her! He had a great afternoon visiting, enjoyed a nice nap, giving Grandma lots of snuggle time with Emilya. It was great seeing my Mom on Mother's Day weekend. We did have a really nice visit!

My Mom left around 4 PM. M headed downstairs and put the fireplace back together, Noah enjoyed playing in his space. M also managed to get some boxes sorted through. I put all of Emilya's newborn clothes away in a bin and filled her drawers with 0-3 month and 3 month clothes. Man, it just blows my mind, Noah was still in newborn at her age!

After supper, we played for a bit before getting the kids ready for bed with baths and such. I fed Emilya before heading into town to grab groceries!

Sunday morning M let me sleep in, which I made it past 8:30 before I got out of bed! That was a nice
treat! I work up to the sweetest "Mommy" followed with his practiced line of "happy mama day". It was soo sweet! He came running for a hug and then got his cards for me to open. A waffles breakfast was up next!

We enjoyed some family time before M ran into town with Noah to grab some tension rods and charcoal for the smoker. They came home with lunch too! I managed to get some laundry on, fed Emilya and got her to sleep! She didn't nap for long,

After lunch Noah and M went outside for a bit while I fed Emilya. I had just got Emilya down when the boys came in to get Noah down for naptime. Emilya was just being a stinker with putting her down, she would instantly wake up, little girl just loves being snuggled. We got her down again, but put her in the mamaroo. M waited a bit before heading outside, shutting the door a little too loud and waking her up again! So he came back in to get her back down before heading back outside to cut the
grass and weed the front garden.

I headed back to the basement, have I mentioned how much I enjoy having a designated sewing area?? I made up some fabric gates and put them on the tension rods to keep Noah out from behind the bar. The basement is just about child proofed so Noah can go back to having free-range of the basement on his own again! I also whipped up a few more burp clothes while I was down there.

When Noah woke up from nap he went right outside. They finished cutting the grass before the rain, which only ended up being a few spits

They got the smoker out, brushed Gracie and played for a bit before Grandma and Grandpa came over for dinner. I woke Emilya up, with hopes of feeding her before dinner, however it ended up being a frustrating experience, as my milk was just flooding her, as it had been 4 hours. Being discreet was complicated even with my cover because she kept needing to go back on and off and burp, etc. So after struggling for 15 minutes and she was getting very cranky - I decided to give her a bottle out of the fridge and pump. She took the bottle much better and slower. I ended up pumping just as everyone sat down for dinner and then went and enjoyed my steak dinner!

We managed to get my picture taken with the kiddos before dessert, crazy hair and all, but I do love it!!  My hands are full, but my heart is fuller and the happiest it has been!!

We got ice cream cake for dessert! It's been forever since we had DQ's ice cream cake, but it did not disappoint and look how pretty it was!!

M and Noah quickly bathed Jazz, which Noah kept saying "you're fine Jazz" as she would yowl. We could have made a 4th cat with all the hair that came off of her!! Happy to say all the cats are bathed post renovation!

Before bath time we did a little paint project with the kids feet and then started the bedtime routine. It was a fantastic day I must say!!
