Weekend Rewind

The rain has finally ended and we have sunshine!! That was a long 4 days!!!

I'm going to rewind all the way to Thursday night! We were just finishing up dinner and saw an ambulance go by, which of course grabs any toddlers attention. Turns out it stopped at our neighbours!! They are an older couple, so M went right over to check on them. Turns out P had had a procedure earlier that day and is diabetic, he had passed out 3x and wasn't doing well, so they took him in the ambulance.

I ended up taking his wife up to the hospital so she didn't have to drive. Noah was pretty worried, we talked about it when I got home and he seemed better.

As soon as he woke up on Friday morning he wanted to draw the neighbour a picture and give him a hug! How could I say no!! So he put this together for him, putting stickers on the back and all and I ran it over and taped it on their door for when they got home!

I was soo proud of him for wanting to do that.

Later that morning he had a shopping date with Grandma, while Em and I had a little girl time

Mikes ball ended up being cancelled because of all the rain, so I took advantage and did a few oil drop offs and ended up helping a friend make a diaper cake!! We did learn some new bow making techniques.

Saturday morning was gymnastics and it did NOT go well. I think the rain had all the kids just wired. We decided to run a few errands afterwards, which went well as far as the kids went, but people were just miserable and impatient and didn't know how to drive!!

When the kids went down for a nap, I decided to lay in bed, snuggle with Mags and start my book club book - Still Alice.

The rest of the afternoon was spent playing in the basement.

Sunday morning we woke up to sunshine!! What a pleasant sight after not seeing it for soo long!! We all had to get ready for Hannah's first communion. Somehow we forgot to do hair cuts on Saturday, so I ended up cutting both boys hair! I will say nothing is more haunting than hearing Noah say "look Mom I can do it too" with scissors in his hand... my bad! Luckily he didn't do much damage.

Does anyone else iron kids shirts with their hair straightener?

I had straightened my hair and didn't want to heat up the iron... I only needed to do the cuffs and collar.

We ended up parking right by the old train station in Tillsonburg and Noah was obsessed with this caboose. Now granted we bribed him to sit through church like a good boy and he could go on it!!

This is pretty much my new favorite pic of him!!! He is soo grown up these days!!

We went back to my sisters for a little gathering before we headed home for naps!

Why is taking family photos soo challenging???

After nap we had to get these kids outside while the sun was shining! It was cool, but cabin fever is a real things after all the rain we had!! I also had to get Miss Maggie out for a walk. She chewed her leash in half, so I had to use the extend-a-leash and let's just say our walk was horrible, that leash is only good for rollerblading or running with her.

Monday I had to take Em to the audiologist and I am finally happy to report she is infection free!! Let's just say I couldn't be happier!!!

This big guy had fun with Grandma while we were gone!

And Miss Em had other plans for naptime while I was trying to work out. Cursed car naps... I did get the workout in!! Turns out she is also working on not 1, but 2 molars!!

Weekend Rewind

Almost caught up on the daily life!!! Phew!

So let's go back to Friday. M called me Friday around 5 PM to tell me that someone broke into his truck and stole his lunch pail with his wallet in it, his laptop, along with 2 other wallets and a cell phone from his employees. So needless to say, he was home late by the time he talked to the police, etc. What a pain in the butt!!

So Saturday morning M had to go get a new ID, health card, and replace his lunch pail, the laptop, etc. This meant I had both kids to take to gymnastics.
Because of the issues last week at gymnastics, I wanted to stay in the gym with him, so we had M's Mom come to help watch Em, so I could focus on Noah. Em was not a fan of this idea, and was super clingy with being sick, on top of what we assume is teething. M's Mom ended up pushing her stroller around while she cried herself to sleep. Look at this pug face:

M met us to pick up lunch with Noah and we came home to eat and get the kids down for a nap. M went back out to finish his errands

After nap, we decided to bring out the bouncy castle since the weather was decent!! Em LOVED it!! Noah did too, but now that Em is more mobile, she's a big fan, especially when her brother jumps!!

My Dad took us out for dinner at the restaurant and it was actually enjoyable with two kids haha.
After we got the kids in bed, I took Miss Crazy for a walk to run off some energy before I went out for the evening!

A bunch of girls on our book club went to the village pub for karaoke night! It was super busy, but a whole lot of fun! This mama got home at 2 AM! Let's just say Sunday morning came early despite sleeping in until 8:00!

We had breakfast with my Dad before he headed back home and we went swimming class. Noah sure will miss having him around.

After swimming we went to the farm for lunch! This guy was pretty happy to have seen both grandpas on one day!!

Miss Em is obsessed with this chair too!!

The rest of the day was pretty low key at home.

Now onto another weekend and it's pretty wet and soggy around these parts!!

Let's Talk About ME

It has happened, my baby has turned ONE, life isn't slowing down at all and I am literally struggling in most aspects of my life in one way, shape or form.
So I have decided that it is time to work on ME. It's always been my motto to be the best me I can be and I haven't been! It is time for a change. It is time for a challenge. This girl is tired of quitting, I'm tired of starting over, I'm tired of the excuses. I deserve better!
The plan? Well my goal is to:  - workout 5x a week. I am starting with 21 Day Fix, because I know the workouts and I really do enjoy them, except cardio fix - I don't love that one!!  - drink 3-4 contigo bottles a day! - take at least 30 minutes of me time a day - to read, write, or do something for ME - take care of my skin. It's not getting any younger, so I am trying a new skin care line that I will hopefully love - so far so good!! - I'm loving my essential oils and do notice they help me a lot as well.  - take my daily vitamins  -  eat healthy. I struggle with this one big time. I don't actually enjoy fruits and veggies like most. So in order to drop the weight, I am going to do the diet plan with the 21 day fix, because I know it works. I know diet is 80% of my problem. So I am thinking once I do a couple of round to drop the weight, then I can just maintain with portion control.  - work on my patience and parenting style. There is going to be a lot of personal development going on around here.  I'm looking to make a full on lifestyle change. I know I feel good when I workout, it's a good release of stress, etc. Finding time to fit everything in is tricky (obviously I can hardly keep up with my blog).  All of these changes are not going to happen overnight and are going to take time to see results. But it's something I NEED to do!!
I actually started an accountability group on Facebook to help me get going, because I know that really helps me. Feel free to let me know if you want an invite. I was posting it all on Instagram, but I do plan on posting in the group instead. If I set smaller goals to help me get to my ultimate goal, it's also helping.    It's going to be hard, and yes, easy to give up, but I am ready and to me, you have to feel ready in order to accomplish something. I have a lot of work to do.
So that's the plan. It's where I'm at! I have a lot of great people helping me out along the way and cheering me on! I need the check ins to help me keep going!

WeekLy Rewind

As I mentioned in Friday's post, last week was crazy busy!! So I will quickly recap what went down.
Monday: we skipped Em's nap (she was not impressed) and went to play group. When we got home, my Dad called and said he was an hour out!! Crazy mommy brain forgot he was coming!! Oops!
I got the kids down for a nap, worked out and next thing I knew it was time to head to the park for a play date!! My Dad ended up meeting us at the park, so this guy loved driving his truck home:
Noah sure was happy to have Grandpa here! It was a long winter without him!!

After supper we braved a family walk with Noah riding his bike the whole time and we discovered as well as Maggie is doing on her training, she is not quite ready for family walks. They are just too distracting for her.
Tuesday: Em's teacher came for their session. The kids played. Dad was back from hunting after nap, so these two opened a kinder egg!

Noah realized Dad was wearing glasses and he thought he better wear his too!!

Then we played outside with bubbles!! This girl was all smiles even after we came in!!

Wednesday: We went to the Songs and Stories program at the library. Noah and I also baked cookies!!

Miss Em thinks the dogs are her new walkers, the good news is when she uses Gracie, Gracie is slow enough, Maggie is not!!

After nap, Noah played outside in the back yard. While I was getting his truck out for him, Emilya decided climbing in her book bag was a good idea!!! She is trouble!!!

I made chicken parm for dinner, just as I had promised my Dad and it turned out really good!!

After dinner Dad and I took the kids for yet another walk!! M was home late from work. Look at these two:

And check out the arm behind Noah. Gosh she is just the sweetest and has the softest soul!

Thursday: Mike's Mom came over to watch Noah while I took Em to the doctors to see if her ear infection had cleared and of course it had not. This is beyond frustrating obviously. Neither one of us felt comfortable giving her another antibiotic - she's been on 2 now, back to back. She told me to call our ENT. I called from the car and it turns out our ENT just had surgery herself and is off. They told me to go to Emerg to see the ENT on call. I also did not want to do that! So I went back in to tell the nurse and she prescribed another med.

I really didn't feel comfortable with the idea, so I had M's Mom come back to watch Noah and I took Em up to Emerg in London. My Mom came with me to entertain Em. We waited 3 hours, they confirmed infection and ended up calling my ENT at home. They gave her two antibiotic shots and another 10 day course of antibiotics. We will be following up with both her and our audiologist.

We ended up having dinner at the farm and once we got the kids down, I headed into town to get Ems script.

Friday morning we went to watch Dancefest that Hannah was in. It was great getting to watch her, but the program was quite long to sit through, especially with two kids, one of which just wanted to be on the go (Em). We picked up lunch and headed home.

I was happy to see my replacement Otterbox had arrived.

Miss Em was in a crazy mood most of the day!!

But she did finally let my Dad hold her without crying!! Apparently she forgot who he was after being gone for 6 months.

I was going to recap the weekend as well, but clearly this post is long enough, so I will get to that by Friday!! Bad enough I'm posting this in the evening.

Another Weekend Rewind

Ok almost caught up in the way of weekend posts that is! I still have birthday posts, vacay posts and other life updates to do, but one thing at a time right??

I seemed to think that this past weekend was going to be less busy, but in all honesty it was busy.

Friday night I had book club, and well let's just say I didn't home until 2AM!! I don't let that happen very often and my walk home was a chilly one, but it was a fun night!!
Saturday morning came early, but it was pretty low key. We did a market run right before gymnastics and then headed straight to the gym. I've decided I'm not a fan of our coach this season, she really has no control over the kids and just doesn't watch them all that great. This past week, a little girl fell and started crying, while that was going down, Noah ran out of the gym and into the complex, where I found him. The coach was just alerting the gym owner when I went in the gym. The owner apologized and asked why he ran out and I said because he was scared because the other girl was crying. We will finish this session, but I likely won't put Noah back in for a few sessions. It's a hard enough age.

After the kids nap, we packed up and headed to London for the Peppa Pig show. Noah had no clue where we were going until he saw the stage and was super excited. Both kids LOVED it!

Check out my Instagram to see video. It was a lot of fun!! We managed to keep both kids awake on the way home and got them in the tub and then bed right away.

I stayed up late again Saturday night but for no apparent reason, but I did manage to sleep in until 9 and the kids slept in too, just not that late.
Sunday morning we had swimming. Noah did much better this week and well Em just loves it all!! After swimming we had 2 quick stops to make before heading home for lunch.
It was such a nice day out, instead of working in Em's disaster of a room, we worked and played outside again!!

When it came to bathtime, we decided to give Noah his Easter bath bomb that had a paw patrol figurine in it, much to his surprise!! He was soo impressed!!!

I will have to recap this past week next week, because it's been busy. My Dad has been down all week.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!
