Fridays Five

Here is our typical Friday post coming at you from a gloomy morning outside, but it is supposed to gorgeous again, so you bet we will be outside for most of it!!

1) yesterday this little man turned 14 months old! What? Crazy, I know!! He loves snuggling the dogs after his bottle!!

He also thought taking a selfie was pretty neat:

Yesterday we went for lunch with Grandma and J and then ran some errands. I didn't end up coming home with a steamer as I planned, but I did get a mini muffin tin! Then when I came home, I noticed someone in Facebook selling one for $4, so I'm going to get that tonight too! I might be nice to have two pans, as I bake a lot.

2) I went and picked out some fabric this week for my pallet project and cushion covers. I didn't buy them, because I don't know how much I need, but hopefully they will still be in stock when I go back! I'm considering figuring out the dimensions and going to get it!!

I'm thinking the ikat for the base of the cushions and the chevron one for the throw pillows. I'm also considering either one of the bottom ones for my other patio set, so they kind of all go together, as I have navy out there, and that green, so Aqua seemed like a good option! I also need to find something for the wicker furniture for the front! I kind of can't want to get started on these projects now that the weather is nice!!

3) we are hoping to get lots of work done outside this weekend, which will include getting the deck ready, so we can hang out up there. There is soo much shingle dust and dirt everywhere, that a power washing will be going down!! I also want to get the table out there so we can start eating outside! I'm considering getting the patio umbrella bug net too!

4) my hair... I finally revealed my hair as I took the time to style it yesterday. So here are the blonde highlights M did for me. The process was pretty easy. I forgot how much it hurt having my hair pulled through a cap. The first results were kind of brassy, so I got a box of blonde hair dye and put it on the next night and now I am happy with color, even though the blonde box lightened my overall hair! It is a big adjustment between the length and the color, but I am loving it:

5) Noah is going for his first sleep over this weekend. Insert anxious parents... Yup parents, it was a big decision to go ahead with for both M and I, but we would rather him do it for the first time with us close by just incase. He will be staying at the farm for his first overnight. The grandparents are super excited, Mom and Dad are anxious, even though we know he will be fine, it is a really big step and Noah has no clue at this point. Mike has a hard time leaving him with someone else just for a few hours, so it will be interesting to see how he handles the overnight. I'm sure it will be all be good!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

A Little Love On Wednesday

Well to start off this post, we are getting some amazing weather!! We couldn't be happier with all this sunshine and warmth!! It has allowed for lots of trips to the parks and warm walks!

Granted the dogs didn't love that Noah was walking on his own during yesterday's walk because we were moving at a snails pace as he took in all the scenery!!

But he didn't have any complaints until it came time to come home and go inside!! This kid loves being outside!!

Yesterday I tried making the Easter marshmallow bark... It was a visual fail!! But man did it ever taste good!! I especially liked it fresh out of the freezer!!

It definitely didn't spread out very nicely or smoothly...

I am loving that we are going to start breaking Noah into his 18 month wardrobe!! Yes the 12 months still fit, but some are getting soo small in length! Anything 12-18 months is perfect!

I am loving watching Mike plan a double date with his buddy... So far he has picked a restaurant I wouldn't like, which luckily he changed that, then last night both guys thought we should go see Fast and Furious 7 after going out for dinner, which both me and his buddies wife were like "really?!?!" So now that have planned going to a centre where we can do bowling, mini golf or rock climbing after dinner. If this doesn't have man planned all over it then I don't know what does hahah. I'm sure it will be fun!

I am loving that this weekend is supposed to be nice again, so hopefully we can get lots of yard work done and get the deck ready for Noah to play on, equipped with a gate and power washed. I also want to get the patio furniture out too so we have outdoor lunches too!!

I soo very badly want to goto Boston Pizza and get their twist bread after seeing this recipe on Pinterest... Yes it is a recipe and I could likely make it...

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Weekend Rewind

Yup totally missed out on blogging Friday, because my morning did not start off on the best note and then neither did my night...

Felix and Binx were fighting yet again - these two just don't get along.... So Mike decided he was going to go break it up with the water bottle, spraying them both? He brought Binx out and then went back for Felix, who was pretty amped up. He went to pick him up and Felix bit him. This is where my crazy husband chose to continue to hold on to the crazy cat, who was scared, and amped up still, which allowed for Felix to pee all over Mike and continue to bite and scratch him. Mike screamed for help which I left Noah playing in the great room and went into the bedroom and it was a bloody massacre. Blood everywhere. I asked him why are holding on to him? He responded that he wasn't sure... Brilliant! He finally let go and his hands were just dripping constantly with blood. I went and got a towel and sent him straight to the bath tub where we attempted to clean the blood off and see what we were dealing with.

After assessing the situation, he sat at the dining room table while I collected supplies to get him fixed up. Then we had the mess to clean up in the bedroom and I needed to get the cat out of the bedroom. Sure enough I found a shaking cat hiding, he let me pick him up and I put him in the bathroom until he was cleaned and we decided what was going to happen.

I also had to meet J at 9... Clearly that didn't happen, but luckily I was only 20 minutes behind by the time I fed Noah and got us ready! So we ran into town to run our errands, and we grabbed lunch on the way home!

On the way home of course M calls to ask about the cat... Clearly he had calmed down and was no longer hating on him anymore. I told him I was going to give him a waterless bath I had just bought and then let him out. So I did that...

In the afternoon J and I rearranged the living room and suprisingly M came home and loved it, however, it actually doesn't work for this life stage. It created an adult space with a seperate kids area, which is great, but a little soon for us. Maybe in a few months, but right now Noah is our centre of attention and we are okay with that, even with all the toys everywhere!

When Noah woke up from his nap we tried on Noah's first pair of running shoes! Oh my goodness it was priceless watching him walk in them for the first time! It was like a cat with wet feet!! I'm sure they felt soo different being hard bottoms and all.

He also loves this new lawnmower he HAD to have. I'm actually glad I bought it because it is great entertainment for him!

It has just dawned on me that this might be the longest weekend recap ever... Because I'm still on Friday!

M came home with the carpet cleaner we rented to do all our rugs and stairs, so after Noah went to bed we started getting ready for that. I sent M to the back basement to collect an extra rug to clean and that was when we discovered the back unfinished basement was flooded!

Luckily the rug wasn't back there and I only lost one box of stuff, as everything for the most part is up. But of course it was a box of memories from my childhood of letters from friends, etc. I salvaged what I could, but I remind myself it could have been worse!! Turns out our sump pump had a small stone stuck in it causing it to stop working. M fixed it and the water disappeared rather quickly. We continued to dry out the basement with dehumidifiers and I can say it is all dry now!!

So I ended up cleaning my rug at 10 pm. I wanted to get it done before going to bed so it would have over night to dry. I will say it was soo very satisfying seeing the dirt coming out of the carpet... Gross as well, but more satisfying haha.

Saturday morning I finished all the rugs and stairs, while M changed around the living room again while Noah was sleeping. Life is back in order now! M went and got our pallets for our spring project!!

These two made up as well:

So we are going to keep a close eye on Felix's behaviour and watch him closely around Noah. We learned that Binx is initiating the fighting.. So we are dealing with that as well! This definitely counts as strike one.

We went to the farm for lunch, did their carpet while we were there and then came home to do some more spring cleaning. Noah also wore this cute little number!!

Saturday night we highlighted my hair and I worked on the bead order my sister sent me. We also watched the movie Wild with Reese Witherspoon - can't say I loved it!!

Sunday started early for Noah and therefor he was a bit of a bear all day!

He helped Daddy fix his dresser drawer:

We got the windows on the front of the house all cleaned inside and out! Hung laundry on the line, cleaned the bedroom but instead of putting away laundry we decided we needed to hang out outside and take in the fantastic weather!! We have soo much yard work to do as well, but instead Daddy put together Noah's new wheels, which Noah had no patience for and had one major melt down after another.... Finally it was put together and he was happy and all, but you would never know it with his expression:

So we went for a walk anyways!!

Sunday night I finished up beading strands for my sister. I didn't quite get them finished, but wanted to get them back to her knowing she will finish them quicker than me. But I was happy to help with the bulk of them!

So there we have it. Our crazy busy weekend where we started our spring cleaning and man did it feel good to see the dirt go! Spring weather is finally here after last Thursday's crazy thunderstorm!! Today we are enjoying +20 yup had to the put the + sign because we were soo used to seeing the minus!! Granted it is supposed to storm this afternoon, but I think we will still have time for outside!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Thoughts On Thursday

Okay so our weather is starting to look up around these parts... I mean it's typical rain now and gloomy days, but when that sun shines - it is magnificent! It's still not super warm though, but it's not freezing anymore!!

Noah and I have been keeping busy these days and he has been such an adventure seeker this week with climbing stairs on his own... Climbing up onto furniture on his own and now his toys... He is becoming such a smart cookie. But if I'm being honest it freaks me out. I know he needs to learn if, but really I'm just not ready.

Tuesday night we went out for drinks for girls night in hopes it will be J's last night out before baby! She is due Saturday! I did enjoy the best drink I've had in a long time from Kelsey's, and it came in a little jug!

Simply amazing!! And it wasn't too sweet!!

Not much else is new and these parts. My knee is feeling better after taking a week off, so I am back doing the fix work outs again and trying to drink as much water as I can get into myself! Hopefully Mike will be able to start back up next week, as his back is just not 100%. Last night was was leg day and Jazz was sure to be of great help!

I am on the look out for some hard soled shoes for the little man. We realized we didn't have any while we were getting ready for the Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday and all we have are soft soled shoes/robeez! I'm going to look at some K Swiss's a lady was selling tomorrow, fingers crossed they fit, as he is kind of inbetween a 2 and a 3.

That's all I got for today!!

This Is OUR Time

As conversations come up about when or if baby number two will be making an appearance anytime soon I get a rush if emotions.

It wasn't until I was rocking Noah to sleep the other night and it dawned on me. I had it in my head that I wanted our babies close, but I also know we are dealing with infertility all over again. Infertility obviously brings up a lot more emotions than I care to get into on the blog. I can say that this time around I have a peaceful mind knowing that no matter what happens we have Noah!

This is OUR time. We don't get these days back, we live each day to the very fullest! I don't have the time to be upset about another failed cycle, because Noah deserves better than that. Our family life will go on with or without baby #2. Yes we want another baby, heck if I'm being honest 3 was our number, but right now we have one and we are soo blessed and fortunate for this! Our little family is my main focus! We know what it's like with none.

Is infertility hard the second time around? Yup, it sure is. But it's a different kind of hard! I felt the need to be strong before during our struggle, but now it is even more important for my little family. I am needed in a way I never was before! If my tears are to fall (and they do and will) it's on MY time, when I am alone and can work out my thoughts. The feelings are real and rip right through where they were before like they have just been hiding away waiting to reappear again. They have tried to come at times when I wasn't alone but I put on my brave face, took a moment to gain composure and put it on the back burner. We are hopefull and that is all we can be!

We don't get these days back, and we are constantly making memories every hour of every day! I don't want those memories to be about being sad. We spent 4 years before getting pregnant being sad. If it is meant to happen - it will and I am at peace with that.

This is our time to be the family we are today, to love each other, be with each other each and everyday and for that I am okay with- No matter what happens from here on in! Granted I didn't choose the path we have walked in the past - no one would choose infertility, but it is a part of who we are unfortunately, but the fortunate part is how strong we have become because of it. We see things soo differently than most people. We are blessed and we know it and we don't take a minute of our time with our son forgranted. If anything infertility this second time around is slowing life down, the months do seem longer again, but they are longer with Noah and for that I am happy, because life was moving so fast during this past year!
