Tell Me All About It Tuesday

So this past long weekend was sooo relaxing and low key - it really was great!!! Let me break it down for you:

Friday Night - M had ball in the village, however they got their a**'s handed to them, but not without injuries. I tell ya boys play HARD... one guy on our team ran straight into the fence trying to catch the ball. He didn't look soo pretty afterwards with his lip split open...

After the game we headed to N and K's for a bon fire with K and J. It was nice, quiet and fun!! We did not get home until the wee hours in the morning though...

Saturday, K, J and I went into town to run a few errands and pick up some things for the BBQ we had planned the night before! N, K, little G, M and I decided to pop over to The Quarries as it was hot out. I had never been there myself and to be honest I wouldn't be rushing back or anything, but it was nice to cool down. The place could have soooo much potential with better management and a clean up crew...

We had rotisserie BBQ chicken, corn on the cob and Cesar salad. We made some brownies for dessert and rotisseried a pineapple as well!! It was a fantastic meal with great company!! Our bonfire was stormed out, but no one was complaining because we were out too late the night before.

Sunday morning I slept in until 11:00 AM!! Oh how nice it was!! My allergies are kicking my butt as of lately... stupid ragweed and hay fever! M and I spent the whole day relaxing, aside from running into town for some groceries and what not. However, we came home to find that little Miss Gracie decided to chew a whole in her bed... you know the bed I MADE... Not Impressed! Their freedom was taken awake today and back to the kennels they both went. (Lily cannot be left without Gracie.. or more havoc would be had)

I watched two movies on Sunday!! I watched the book I am currently reading: Something Borrowed and I watched Soul Surfer!! I will actually be doing a review on Soul Surfer since I loved it soo much! I would highly recommend watching it if you haven't already!!

Monday M and I did some fall cleaning. We rearranged the great room! So I just made a quick diagram of what we had before:

The blue random squiggle line is the bow window and the purple lines are the patio doors. The weird shape in the corner is the TV...

Here is the new layout:

No the room did not change shape... I just suck...There is also an area rug in front of the TV - that is labeled this time! You will notice that the yellow leather couch is missing and a burgundy chair that needs to be recovered has been placed... we did a bit of a room swap... yellow couch went downstairs and burgundy chair came up!! I am loving the new layout!! I will take some pics, so you can see the real deal!

I also did some baking!! I tried to make:

found here.

It was pretty simple.

Chewy No-Bake Cookies & Cream BarsPrintable Recipe

1 (16-ounce) package of Oreo cookies
5 cups (1 bag) of large marshmallows
4 tablespoons butter

Line an 8x8-inch baking dish with aluminum foil, allowing the foil to hang over the edges, and set aside.

Place Oreo cookies in food processor (or crush in a large Ziploc bag with a rolling pin) and pulse until crumbly, but not ground.

Melt marshmallows and butter in a large microwave-safe bowl until puffy, about 1 1/2 to 2 minutes. Remove and pour in ground cookies. Quickly stir to combine, then transfer to baking dish.

Allow to set for 10 to 15 minutes. Remove bars from pan by foil edges. Cut, serve, and enjoy!
Recipe found here.
Few things though...
  • don't use the Ziploc - the creme filling from the oreos sticks to the bag
  • don't use a plastic spatula when stirring the marshmallows... that goo is HOT and it broke the spatula - I recommend a wooden spoon
  • I didn't use tin foil in my pan and I also forgot to spray the pan... sticky mess...

I have become addicted to this stupid Sims social game on facebook... anyone else?

I am also working a full week this week... good for the paycheck, but I think I will miss my day off. I know I had yesterday off, but it doesn't feel like a day off when EVERYONE has it off...

I hope everyone had a safe weekend!!!
