Noah 15/16 Months

Generally Noah is one happy little boy, but we have also entered the phase where he is learning his feelings - more on that below... This little boy sure can light up a room with his smile and his eyes alone, add in his giggles and the room will be laughing too. I often feel like I need to pinch myself to remind myself that this really our life, our son, because sometimes it really is just too good to be true.

Sleep: Noah is a champ at sleeping throughout the night! Obviously teething and a cold has been the exception, but even with that he has done pretty well! Sleep ins are his thing, allowing mama to sleep in until 8 AM, but heck some mornings it has been 9 AM or after! Noah goes to bed around 7:30/8. He also got to try his hand at co-sleeping when he decided he didn't love his pack and play while we were on vacation, but I can't complain about that because not so secretly, I loved it, except it wasn't in a king bed haha.

Noah is down to one nap a day! We do have to keep him busy between 11 and 12 so he doesn't think about napping, depending on what time he wakes up, we can usually make it until 1 PM for a nap! He tends to fall asleep in the morning for any trips to to, but cat naps aren't our enemy anymore. It just means he will go down a little later! I am loving the new nap duration though! Noah has never really been a great napped, with only 30 minute naps max, but now we are getting 2-3 hour naps which is
just amazing.

Eating: Noah is one great eater!! The only thing he is super picky about seems to be meat. It's really hit or miss, but we have been working on hiding it in things. Food that he didn't like before he is open to trying, but once again tends to be hit and miss, like watermelon and cucumber. Noah has two bottles a day now, one when he first gets up and one when he goes to bed. Just this past week we tried cutting out the morning bottle and feeding him breakfast right away, but he is just not ready. He working hard on using utensils, but he has a long way to go! He is much better with having plates and bowls now without throwing them overboard too!

Teeth: We just found two new molars, one on the top and one on the bottom on his left side, so that brings him up to having 10 teeth now!!

Weight/Height: Noah is topping the scales at 28 pounds and 34 inches tall!! I thought he was looking tall compared to the other kids his age (we have a lot around us) and seeing him beside older kids and being almost the same height was good indicator! Clearly he is going to be tall with us as parents, so this is not a shock! He is mostly wearing 18 month clothes, but he has been outgrowing in length some of his tees! We have switched to two piece pjs for the most part at this point. The 24 month
sleepers are too big, 18 months are too short, so we have some 18 month two pieces and I bought 2T
two piece jams! Pj shirts are silly just saying, the length is ridiculous on some of them! No consistency at all!! So clearly we have a variety of sizes on the go!

Activity: Are you sure that we can't stay outside all the time? That is all Noah wants to do! He is the master at the slide and loves climbing - indoor or outdoor! He can crawl up on couches and chairs now too! I will say when he falls, he will get back up again and do it again until he gets it right! Love his spirit, he isn't easily discouraged unless he is tired!! He loves balls, water, swings, tractors, trucks, swimming, riding on toys, dumping water on his head, going for walks, walking his dogs, bath time,
books. There isn't too much he dislikes, aside from coming inside after playing outside or getting out
of the pool! He also really just wants to be apart of everything! Noah loves his pets as well, especially
cuddling with Gracie, climbing Lily and kissing Felix!

Talking/Milestones: Noah says about 10 words clearly including: mama/mom/mommy, daddy/dada/daddy, ya, kitty, Lily, ball and he says quite a few words that don't quite sound like they should! Sheep sounds like ship and sure sounds like shit. He is pretty chatty, but granted we still don't know what some of it means! He is all about answering your questions now with shaking his head no or saying ya. Noah can point to his nose, ears and head on que. he has mastered ride on toys, running,
climbing and waking backwards! He loves singing and dancing as well and definitely has his preference with songs!

Personality: I swear we are that extreme age where we are breaking into full on toddler mode over here. Typically he is pretty laid back, happy and content. We go through extreme mood changes around here from super happy to full on tantrum mad! Add in the hitting and it is just no fun, but really that is my only complaint!! He is starting to get over his make strange mode, luckily we only had a few weeks of that where he was super attached to M or I. With Noah having a cold and teething all at once, it was definetely a challenge and I was more than happy to have M home on holidays to
help us cope! He is a hug machine, and has really started to enjoy snuggling again!

Overall we are soo blessed with such an easy going baby, now turned toddler! He is playing well with other kids, but we need to work on the no hitting - he really doesn't get it! Some days seem longer than others, but I wouldn't trade the worst days, because for every bad moment, there is a good moment multiplied!

Parenting is no joke, it's all one giant learnt curve and what works for some parents doesn't for others - every kid is different. I will say I understand why parents drink more! Sometimes that glass of wine or beer at the end of the day is the answer! This is such a crucial time of our children's life where they are learning non-stop. Seeing something challenge Noah one day become easier the next day is just
something amazing to watch. Being a stay-at-home mom allows me to see all these moments and with that I feel so lucky!

Omg, I love that pic of Noah with the dogs! That is awesome he just gets back up after a fall bc toddlers aren't the most stable creatures! When they learn new words, it is the cutest and funniest thing ever!

He's so cute!! I really hope we can see you guys soon!! I think he is huge compared to Leo- I doubt Leo is more than 22lbs!

So he didn't like the pack n play while vacationing either? Yay for long naps! I love it when they drop to 1 nap, makes life so much easier!

Oh the toddler stage! We are getting pushing and full on throw yourself on the ground tantrums. I have to hide my smiles!

Such a big boy!! Wow. He is so sweet and such a good boy. So nice that he sleeps in! I'm waiting for D to drop her morning nap but she really still needs it.
