Well, it may be a manic Monday, but last Monday was manic too..
So I will start with a recap from last week. I was off work all last week. However, we were busy getting the house ready for our New Years party.
Monday, Mike's Mom (S) came over and we made a new gazebo top. Our old one pretty much disintegrated, and because it is winter here, we can't exactly go out and buy a new one, so we took the sides from the original and made a top out of them. M and I headed to Home Depot and bought a bedroom door!! Sooo excited about this!! It was not the door we really wanted, but we bought a french glass door. I will admit I was really nervous about M hanging the door. M and J popped over in the evening and we played Kinect.
Tuesday, I went shopping with J. We got such good deals. I needed to get another pack of place mats from Urban Barn for New Years, and dominoes from Wal-Mart. However, we hit up Old Navy and Jacob as well.
Wednesday, I just worked on tidying the house and when M got home he cut and hung the bedroom door! I was soo proud of him! He did such a great job! He even let me help him by running the drill, when it came to hanging it.
Thursday, I had an appointment in the morning and then headed to the grocery store to pick up the last minute things I needed for the party. We headed over to the restaurant around the corner for wings with M's parents and then they ended up swinging by for a soak in the hot tub and popcorn. We even convinced then to try Kinect!
M was off on Friday and we spent the day getting ready for the party!!
I recapped Friday and Saturday already.
Sunday we lounged for the morning, and just when we were going to head to town for groceries, M got a medical call. So that delayed us maybe an hour. The call was actually at the restaurant and I could see the trucks from my bay window. Actually Gracie could too and she sat and had her ears perked, almost as if she knew Daddy was over there. She does know the fire trucks, as we sometimes stop at the hall when walking the dogs, as well as in the parades and summer fests. She is too cute!!
I can't seem to put forth how proud I am of M. Proud just seems an understatement. I know I shouldn't think like this, but I honestly don't know what I would do without him. After his Dad's accident, it really hit home for me, I could have lost him, luckily I didn't, and instead he displayed his heroic actions and helped save the life of another. I am forever grateful for him.
Back to Sunday... J called and I invited her over for a soak in the hot tub, and Lance (their black lab) was invited for a play in the back yard with the girls, M tagged along as well and chilled with Mike. Then we headed to the farm for dinner and some Big Game hunting on the Wii, which I kicked butt at!! We came home and M finished building his Lego excavator. He brought it upstairs and was showing me how it worked, however the cats were not a big fan of... videos to come, as soon as I figure out how to post them. Unfortunately we didn't get the best videos, because we were too busy laughing.
Also, I watched Heartland and it was such a good episode!! Lou is pregnant!!
Today, I am heading to town just before one with M & J's dog Lance, and meeting J in town because Lance is getting groomed. She is in school till 1:00 and his appointment is at 1:30, so I figured I had to go into town anyways, I could help her out.
TV should be good tonight!! Pretty Little Liars and The Bachelor!!
