Manic Monday

Well, well, where shall I start... I should really start this post on Friday evening before I go to bed and do it nightly, so I can remember what all I did. However, that would make sense, and well, we all know life gets busy and sometimes we forget our senses and just live.

Well world, I have joined the cult... my new blackberry is in the mail. I have mixed feelings about it, but overall, I am kind-of excited! I called up my cellphone company because my Motorola Razor battery will not hold a charge, so I was just going to order a new one. I must admit the salesman I got was GREAT at his job. He informed me that a new battery would cost $60 but that he could do better! Little did I know that by better he meant an upgrade. He informed me that my plan had not changed since 2004 and my phone was due for an upgrade because it had been 4 years with it. However, I liked my pink phone, it met all day-to-day needs. I don't text or browse the Internet on my phone, I just phone people with it, but with me working out of town, I end up with a lot of long-distance charges. I mainly just call M when I am leaving work, or my sister if I am bored while driving (using speakerphone of course), but it all adds up. He told me that I could text people instead, which would save on long distance and overall would save on my bill as well. I thought this was a great idea, although I know it will take me a while to learn how to text... yes you read that correctly, LEARN how to text. So he gave me a sweet deal on a plan, which now allows me to have voicemail, Internet (3G), call display, tons of daytime minutes, early evenings and weekends free, call waiting, etc. all for less than I was paying before. I know, I know that all sounds great, but my phone was just not capable of handling all the plan upgrades, so he offered me a blackberry curve 9300 for..... $2.00. Yes, that is it! Not only did I save on my plan, which now has more to offer, but I don't have to pay $60 for a battery, I only pay $2.00. What a GREAT deal! This is what my new gadget will look like:
BlackBerry 9300 Smokey Violet
Yes, it is definitely PURPLE!! How pretty. I should have it no later than Thursday!!

After the great news about that, we went over to the restaurant with M and J and then came back to our place and play the Kinect dancing game. I don't recall the name of it, but J had bought it for theirs. Now, I am NO dancer, in fact I am hardly co-ordinated, but nonetheless it was fun. I am considering buying it, because it was soo much fun, would be a great work-out and heck, it would improve my lack of dance skills.

Saturday morning I watched Charlie St. Cloud. It was great, but a real tear-jerker. In the beginning, I found myself waiting for the tears to start, because I knew someone was going to die. I recommend it though, just have Kleenex handy. Mike went to the farm to throw wood in the basement with M and called me later to join him and M for lunch and that J was coming too. So we had lunch and then headed home to go back out and get some groceries. We decided to stop in at Canadian Tire, where we bought our garage door opener in the summer, to see if they had the extension kit M needed and of course, they don't carry it and we are unable to order it online because it is an American site and they don't ship to Canada... so we are calling the manager tomorrow and asking him to special order it, or we will return the door and buy a different one that will work. While we were there, we bought a new projection alarm clock. We have been wanting one of these for a while now and let me tell you, it is fantastic knowing what time it is, without having to sit up and look over M while he is sleeping and hoping I do not wake him while squishing the blankets down to see.

Sunday morning, we were up and on our way to London to my Mom's apartment to help her get a little more settled. Pictured needed to be hung, computer hooked up, sound system hooked up, and stuff to be gone through between my sis and I. I was soo happy that Mom was able to get rid of more stuff yesterday because going from a house to an apartment leaves you with a lot of stuff, in fact, too much stuff. We sat down for a nice dinner and headed home after that to unload the car. We went back out and picked the dogs up from the farm and settled in for a quiet night at home, until M's pager went off and he was gone to a medical call for an hour. While he was gone, Jazz was acting funny, I had the outside light on at the deck doors for when M got back home and I looked over and thought sweet Binx was outside, then I saw little white legs and couldn't figure out how Binx and Lux could have gotten outside, so I got up, noticed Binx and Lux inside coming to the door as well. I looked outside and there were 2 cats pawing at my door from outside. One black and white and the other a brown tabby with white legs. Poor kitties. My cats kept pawing at the door, going foot to foot with the cats outside. Break my heart... how could people leave cats outside in this weather. They were probably freezing. I had never seen them around before, but I know Binx has. I decided to put some food out for them, but they ran off. They must be strays, poor kitties. I have left the food out hoping that they are OK.

Today, I am poking away at laundry, as well as brainstorming ideas for dinner... I am thinking it will be taco salad tonight. We are having another girls night out tonight. Some of us firefighters wives have decided that we should get to know each other better and have opted for a girls night out. So, tonight is the first official girls night at K's. She opted to host because she has a little one and well, none of the rest of us do, so this way she doesn't need a sitter.

Happy Monday, I hope everyone had a great weekend!!

I have had some type of blackberry for about 4 years now. They are an incredible phone, you won't want any other phone after this. I had the curve, the storm, and now I have the blackberry Tour. It's like a laptop in your hands. A good feature to download when you get it is Opera Mini. its an internet browser for your phone where you can view any and all full web pages. You can even blog from your phone with it. :) If you need help just ask.
